i have a HD4850 [like the video] but i only get 50 fps on my Gears of War PC on the LOWEST SETTINGS

but i hooked it up on the only PCI Express Slot

is the PCI Express Card holding it back becuase of it, if i put it on a PCI 2.0 will it get better?

no getting pci-e 2.0 wont make it quicker by much something else is bottle necking it. PCI-e 2.0 is like AGP4x and AGP8X.

i have a 8600GT which somehow only works with 1x the pci express bandwidth and its a HUGE differnce between 1x and 16x i can imagine that this is less with "8x" and 16x but still im sure that it has a differnce otherwise pcie 2.0 wouldnt excist

But running AGP 8x cards in a 4x slot had issues. I can attest to that. I haven't had issues using a current NV generation on a very early PCIe bus though. Just my experience.

yes because if your using a pci express 1.0, your getting half the power of a pci express2.0 slot

yes the pci express is holding it back. get pci-e 2.0 your running 1.0 thats only half of what it can do.

I think you are wrong... difference betwee 2.0 and 1.0 is not that big. I think you cant see any difference at performance at all. But if you have crossfire there might be slight dropp down with speed.

radeon 4850 is dirt cheap now it almost hit €80-90 here for 4870 that is €105-120 512mb version. 4870 1gb costs €130 - 140. 4890 xfx black edition with 1ghz gpu and 4ghz memory is €168-180 right now here. So these cards are basicly sold for very nice dumping prices. for those who require a graphic update i would recommand to get one right now. for those who want to build an entire new system just wait till october when lynnfield forces price cuts and the dx11 cards

1 4850 wont run most games at higher settings on that large a monitor. theyll run good at about medium settings........except for maybe cod4/5 or left 4 dead. for that big monitor get atleast a 4870 1gb or gtx 260 core 216

10k rpm drives have sick transfer rates, but a 7,2k rpm drive will do the job as well. as far i can't afford a velociraptor or a SSD ill stick with a 7200rpm soon getting a WD drive.

The 4850 is a VERY amazing card, particularly for the price. Although a mid-grade budget, it's performance comes in to the same class as the 4870, GTX 280, GTX 260 and the 9800's. The 4850 will last you a long time :)
