This has a huge impact when considering marketing demographics. Being a female drummer can be very advantageous to a band that is looking to tap into the teen girl market. A band of all guys can succeed on "cuteness" however simply having a female band member (often excluding bass) can have sustained success in that market more so than "cuteness".
