I'm getting a silver and black and blue one this Saturday. Can I play games like Black Ops, Minecraft, Crysis, etc.? If so, on what level? I heard it keeps crashing...
i'm not a huge gamer, I'm 14, so is this a good laptop? It seems like it to me.
@busterbdragon Hey tweedle dee and tweedle DUMBASSES ... Maybe you shouldnt let it over heat or download stuff you shouldnt... @trains. Only reason it would crash is from fault on your part ... not asus's ... had this since day it was released no problems
I've had mine for under 4 months now, and I have to say I'm never buying an ASUS product ever again. After my G1S breaking 3 times, each with separate RMAs, my G50VT-B1 is already having graphics card issues, and overheating issues. That's with a cooling pad, A/C maintaining a room temperature of ~26 degrees C or less while gaming, AND a USB fan blowing towards the heat sink. If you're wondering what gaming notebook to buy, go Toshiba.
There's something that appears to be a speaker on the bottom of the notebook...is it a speaker? If it is, how do you use it? (Could've sworn the salesman said it was o_o)
the msi gt627 and the gateway P7805u are better...the msi is a little expensive(about 1200)but it has basically the same specs in a smaller package 15" and only 5.6 pounds and it looks a little better too...the battery life is a lot more than the asus....the gateway p7805 is 1050 at best buy and is a 17" laptop that weighs in at close to 9 pounds...however it does feather the m9800GTS instead of the gs.....now with cashback on ebay it will cost u about the same as the asus
I know your comment is 2 months old, But I'll say it anyways. I believe the model he is reviewing is a lower model, idk. But the one I seen has a 2.0 Mp
it will prolly run it on ULTRA low settings...cmon man..give portable performance a break...you cant expect the powah of a GTX 280 on a notebook just yet
well this is a pretty good price for it actually for this gaming laptop
i think if u say that its expensive i think that ur talking about the other models of this laptop the ASUS G50V-A1 or A2 cuz those are like about 2000 dollars and over
but this one is only 1250 at best buy
this is the best buy model by the way so yea i think its got a pretty decent price for a laptop that has this kind of graphics card in it
its pronounced ah-soose not ay-sus ut i pronounce it ay-sus like everyone else lol ay-soos sounds wered it came from Pegasus the company's original name lol
no, its actually pronounced ay-seus. People say asus because they are from the european nations, here in America, we say it as ay-seus. Just a clarification. lol
hey i just bought this same laptop 2 days ago and its awesome. but one think i cant figure out is that speaker looking like thing on the bottom near the air vent. you dont happen to know what it is do ya??
thx for the reply. i read some reviews and i found out that its where the fan is located. i notice when i put it on turbo extreme i can feel it vibrating when i touch it, so i guess thats where the fan sucks in air. but looks cool, maybe i can tell people its a subwoofer XD

MSI GT627 has lots of heating issues with the hard drive though. Above 60 C is absolutely unexcusable. Asus designs their laptops well.
