  • I know this videos really old, but in the "professional world" do they use avid and final cut to edit only? I always wondered what programs were used today for main stream movies. I only have touched on Sony Vegas and Adobe After Effects so I was just curious.

  • @crazyspooks10 The industry is still predominantly Avid with Final Cut Pro now increasing it's share quite fast. But feature films, television, advertising is still mostly edited on Avid. There are exceptions though. Some features have been cut on Final Cut Pro. Sony Vegas and After Effects aren't that significantly used in the pro end of the industry.

  • @crazyspooks10 After Effects is more of a finishing tool for graphics, end panels, titles, etc. It's not really an "editing" system, but is ESSENTIAL to know in today's TV commercial realm. It would be a easier workflow to cut in Vegas and finish is AE! :-)

  • very VERY useful video. I wish I could find more videos like this.

  • thats cool, but damn editting sounds hard o_0

  • @zombierobopirate editing is not hard at all

  • @DFatBoyD

to us it's not, some people just don't grasp/truely understand it

  • Great example glad somebody put a link to this on the wikipedia article

  • lol, cool man..

  • "edit on action", counter intutive, I would have thought the opposite but I can see it works.

  • The eye is drawn to action and your mind is focused and so the edit is "invisible" when you cut on an action.

  • Great advise. More, more!!!

  • cool!

  • good advice.
