I visited a semi-tame colony of meerkats in Namibia. They came right up to me and poked their cute little noses into my lens. This a wonderful way to discuss saving the planet. My parents home in NC, USA; has solar panels. I did the drafting plans for this house as a CAD project in HS school. My parents did the funding for it to be build in real life. Each LITTLE thing we can do to help repair the planet is a HUGE HUGE HUGE thing we can do for the future of this planet and the living souls on it. Thanks for posting BB

I think others avoid it because they think in terms of their lifetime, not the lives of those who will still be here when they're gone. For some a simple switch in light bulbs doesn't matter to them. I have those bulbs in every light fixture in my house :-)

Compact fluorescent bulbs are great for most purposes. I use them. But there are some uses that they are just not suitable for, for example lighting for artistic work like oil painting. If other kinds of light bulbs are banned, I am going to be very upset.

When Reagan took office, he removed all the Solar Panels Carter had placed on the White House!

Carter created a Solar Tax Credit program which Reagan also eliminated. This killed the Solar Energy Industry and lead people to believe that Solar Energy was not a viable solution for our energy needs!

Solar Energy was and is fully functional. And by now at least 20% of our Energy should've been coming from Solar Energy!

What do you do if you have enclosed fixtures? Mine are little domes on the ceiling. I think those bulbs can't be in enclosed spaces ecause they over heat.

We are a completely green house. All flourescent bulb. Everything is recycled and we eat organic food. Good to see you again. I just got out of the hospital after being sick since June 29th. This is my 2nd day of feeling better.

Very cute video. But I am conflicted when it comes to compact fluorescent light bulbs.

They are wasteful in manufacturing and contain mercury. So like disposable batteries, compact fluorescent light bulbs become a problem at the end of their lifespan.

Ultimately the less light and power we use, the better. I think we're going to need more radical solutions to global warming than the current shift to being "slightly less bad". No reflection on you, Mugglesam!

haha. I'm camera shy too but I did make a video response to the video titled "Arts Friends Bears". I had to gather up a lot of courage :) I stuttered and forgot to say alot of things even on the 5th take. I used my digital camera and the quality is alright I think(enough to convey my point). You have to make sure there's proper lighting though. If it's too dark then it's pixelated so I had to open up the blinds to let in a little sun.

we did that too! when we bought our house last year we bought 3 packs of the flourescent bulbs. We still have a few "old bulbs" around but as they blow, we replace them with the efficient ones. They're very affordable now too. Nice message mugglesam :)
