From what I recall they were going strong and it was not that far in the past that they had mortar bombed Downing St and Heathrow Airport. They were also well funded and had large amounts of arms and recruits. This would suggest that you are talking pish when you say they were on their knees. That being said I will agree that no one with a sane mind wants the troubles to return.

It appears to be more of a partisan video than a parody. it's not so much poking fun as waving a middle finger at the opposing side. It does make light of a very unfortunate & deadly situation. In the end, the fighting was all for naught. Ulster remains a part of the Union with power sharing & all. Basically neither side won, and at this point Ireland & Britain are both in the EU, so it seems antiquated to pretend that either one is a sovereign nation worth fighting for.
