  • i always felt like that when i used to work @ the old theatre, my heart just kept getting blacker and blacker, killing me on the inside.

  • Our shift resumes!!!

They have captured the essence of shift work. It never truly feels like your shift is over, and your time off seems so short lived it is like you never left. Wow, such fun being a new world order slave. fuckers.

  • industrial!

  • He sounds exactly like Sean Astin

  • Masterpiece.

  • I went home to my rooster and found him in bed with a bucket of KFC - oh, the darkness and the blackness. Maybe I'll try a little work.....

  • @humbledb4jesus Hahahahaha

  • Bruce probably listens to a lot of The Cure

  • "My wife... My child... My rooster"

What is it with Mark and chickens?

  • This scene must have been inspired by the silent film Metropolis

  • My wife, my child, my rooster.

  • They should turn this sketch into a 3 hour epic movie.

  • You work better when you work in silence.

  • I can easily this furnace being used to boil the water that charges the turbines that power the mill in "sausages"... now I just have to figure out how the guy-who-gets-paid-the-big-bucks fits into it and I'll have solved my Bruce tri-fecta of surreal darkness!

  • I love this one! What season is it from?

  • @darkb4lightt season 5, episode 6

  • Every time a coworker speaks i think of this video. Coal dust becomes explosive so they soak it in water which has very little effect on the fire.

  • Wow, this is pretty much my job.

  • I shit myself when i watched this today

  • 3 people cannot avoid the blackness, the darkness . . .

  • Anyone noticing that their shovels are full of holes?

  • @Sentinalh its cus the fuel they are shoveling is in some sort of fluid. so they dont scoop the liquid in there too. at at least too much of it.

  • @Sentinalh It's so the water falls through.

  • Amazing, subtley brings up alot of philosophical inquiry about life/work/economics......and its so fucking funny

  • I found out about KITH this summer and they are is so great! Everytime I think I've seen the top of the weirdness, then there's the next video and I'm like "What the hell...?"

  • @DasNutellamaedchen "they are is so great", lol that reminded me of nurse hester from death comes to town. "why is are you not letting good cat die?" :)

  • Sausages! Where's my sausages?!

  • Bruce is such a good actor

  • I'm pretty sure Bruce's sketches are his way of getting back at all the pretentious plays, short films and monologues he had to endure at drama school.

  • This has always been one of my favorites.

  • @Bluehawk2008 same here. it still is my favorite.

  • "Sadness, silence, darkness, blackness..."

  • Have you ever wonder what its like? outside? of "the darkness"?

  • YouTube I LOOOVVVEEE YOU!!!!!!!

  • alot of stuff about workers "my pen" "sausages"

  • Every time I start watching KITH sketches on YouTube, I end up spending like 4 hours getting lost in nostalgia.

  • Is hell not bad enough without the constant complaining?

  • I think it might be about how some people never question their grueling jobs; they don't seem to mind or despair.

  • Awesome set design

  • Wow, I totally felt like that at work today.

  • this is the best sketch

  • I just wonder what they were watching or reading that brought things like this and the sausage sketch on. Beckett? Sartre? Kafka?

  • They were reading your faggy diary.

  • i love how this reminds me of something that David Lynch would do. haha.

  • Very very Russian. Love it!

  • gregolt is my name

  • we're too busy complaining about wanting freedom that when it finally comes it only seems like a brief, worthless moment cause we wasted all our time bitching

or am I just reading too deep into this lol

  • I think it is simultaneously spoofing pretentious art films, and making a statement about the inability of people to relate or communicate with each-other in the modern, post industrial age.

    It's really quite cool.

  • Welp, some days it's dark.

  • i love every second of this sketch. mark and bruce both play their characters so perfectly, and my favorite part is when their shift ends hahaha. "did you enjoy your time off?"

  • Bruces' sketches are always dark and surreal lol

  • @Proudnewfoundlander1

    I sell shoes!!!

  • finally. ive been waiting to see this one again for a loooooong time

  • It's a poem.

  • this is friggin deep

  • AWESOME! I have been looking for this skit on youtube! woot! <3

  • where the heck did they find that set?

  • thats what I was wondering. it doesnt look like they build it, but even as an amature filmmaker im often amazed by the genius/simplicity of set designers.

  • i just got a job there.

  • @in204with420 we all have a job there...

  • @myownsign that's for fucken sure

  • 2:52

  • BRILLIANT!

  • Bergman would be proud of Bruce, I think. Well f@ck Bergman, I like it

  • brendel likes anime

  • My favorite KITH sketch ever!

  • Christ, this was like WATCHING Tolstoy. Reading it is hard enough. Great sketch, but the pacing made me want to claw my eyes out.

  • God, CLASSIC Bruce McCulloch

  • Yeah this sketch rocked.

"bbbutttt it is better if we work in silence."

  • the sounds they make kinda resemble the theme from Terminator 2

  • This is probably one of Bruces ones, he was always good for the mildly disturbing sketches. It's a bit like Chris Morris' JAM actually.

  • I love Jam! (except the kind that goes with peanut butter). My favorite Jam piece was the one from the first episode where the man attempts to commit suicide from the second story balcony.

I really enjoy this sketch. I sometimes get annoyed with those "intellectual" texts about people being stuck in a dark, oppressing society, or lacking control because they are labor for the system. I think this is sort of a satire about those works, because a lot of times they're set up just like this.

  • My favorite Jam sketches are the ones where the woman forgives her husband for being seen kissing another woman, because he says he was raping her and the one where the Dutch porn star talks about 'the goosh'!

  • Good point. I love everything Chris Morris, especially "Jam" and "Brass Eye".

  • I just can't help thinking this must have been the most elaborate set they ever built for a sketch.

  • wow.. this is actually rather sad

  • Now we just need "The Big Bucks".

  • Bad ass.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!

"Sausages" has been on YouTube for a while, and I've been waiting for "Shoveling Coal!"

    AWESOME!

  • sadness. silence. darkness. blackness...

bruce is a comedy genius! this sketch kills me.

  • I found this to be a very interesting sketch. I'm not sure it was intended to be comedic

  • fuckin love this sketch, could never find it!

  • This is definitely a Bruce sketch.

  • dumb bitch kept laughing through the whole thing.... lord

  • Its both grim and funny and mildly disturbing a hard combo to really pull off well. GOD I love KITH.

  • Thank you for posting this! This is my favorite sketch of all.

  • You know these guys were obsessed with Depeche Mode, David Lynch, and drug abuse!

  • Depeche Mode? No way. I can't believe I'm saying this, but "too dark for Depeche Mode."

    Cabaret Voltaire?

  • Einsturzende Neubaten? Skinny Puppy? Throbbing Gristle?

  • lol that's crazy i thought of EN too

  • This is more irreproachable proof of KITH's genius.
