They have captured the essence of shift work. It never truly feels like your shift is over, and your time off seems so short lived it is like you never left. Wow, such fun being a new world order slave. fuckers.
I can easily this furnace being used to boil the water that charges the turbines that power the mill in "sausages"... now I just have to figure out how the guy-who-gets-paid-the-big-bucks fits into it and I'll have solved my Bruce tri-fecta of surreal darkness!
I found out about KITH this summer and they are is so great! Everytime I think I've seen the top of the weirdness, then there's the next video and I'm like "What the hell...?"
@DasNutellamaedchen "they are is so great", lol that reminded me of nurse hester from death comes to town. "why is are you not letting good cat die?" :)
I'm pretty sure Bruce's sketches are his way of getting back at all the pretentious plays, short films and monologues he had to endure at drama school.
we're too busy complaining about wanting freedom that when it finally comes it only seems like a brief, worthless moment cause we wasted all our time bitching
I think it is simultaneously spoofing pretentious art films, and making a statement about the inability of people to relate or communicate with each-other in the modern, post industrial age.
i love every second of this sketch. mark and bruce both play their characters so perfectly, and my favorite part is when their shift ends hahaha. "did you enjoy your time off?"
thats what I was wondering. it doesnt look like they build it, but even as an amature filmmaker im often amazed by the genius/simplicity of set designers.
I love Jam! (except the kind that goes with peanut butter). My favorite Jam piece was the one from the first episode where the man attempts to commit suicide from the second story balcony.
I really enjoy this sketch. I sometimes get annoyed with those "intellectual" texts about people being stuck in a dark, oppressing society, or lacking control because they are labor for the system. I think this is sort of a satire about those works, because a lot of times they're set up just like this.
My favorite Jam sketches are the ones where the woman forgives her husband for being seen kissing another woman, because he says he was raping her and the one where the Dutch porn star talks about 'the goosh'!
Why does this remind me so much of my job?

Every time a coworker speaks i think of this video. Coal dust becomes explosive so they soak it in water which has very little effect on the fire.

@Sentinalh its cus the fuel they are shoveling is in some sort of fluid. so they dont scoop the liquid in there too. at at least too much of it.
