ok i fixed it.

Go into Paint and resize the icon so that the icon touches the edges on each side. Then make sure the background is the same color.

I had problems with the phone and ipod icons because of the dock, but the text and camera icons work perfectly.

No... If you get Fring, or any SIP-VOIP program, (Fring in App Store) you could call. I got some app that lets you text with the SAME EXACT layout and view as the SMS app.
