  • I was 12 and thursday nights 8:00 highlight of my week, god they were the good old days. Such great memories. :-)

  • Dont supppose anyone knows the guitar chords for this?xxx

  • I was in love with julie haha

  • B.r.i.l.l.i.a.n.T.

I had a total seizure and pulled this out of my memory, and then someone mentioned the cassette tape, and then i checked itunes and OHMYGODITSONiTUNES! Best 6 pounds I ever spent.

So yeah - thanks all! Fab memories...

  • I just seen this episode today . last time I seen it, it came out in 1982 when I was 12 yrs old. My sister sang this in the junior high talent show. great memories

  • I used to love this song so much. I bought the album as a child.

  • I still have the cassette.

Is it just me or this shows were way much better than "glee" and all those music things airing nowadays ?

I actually think all shows from that era were the best. Or maybe the fact that we were kids was the good part.

    Lots of memories.

    God, there's high fidelity !!!

  • I wish I had a girlfriend who looked like Lori Singer but I'm fat, hairy and balding.

  • wasn't she in Footloose ? Sorry before my time. lol I was born at the end of the *80s but i like the music.

  • @JessicaMidnight Yes she was, she played Ariel, the pastors daughter. Totally different character. I liked her in fame better she played the cello. I think she sings pretty good. This song is so heartbreaking. That is exactly how I feel when I break up with someone. Footloose was a good movie with a good story line.

  • This song has a second verse that's on the Kids from Fame album.

  • Has she got a cold? But good gutair skills

  • Lori Singer isn't much of a singer but the song is moving though.

  • Fame is still one of these shows that make my heart jump. I am almost 41 y.o. and I feel privileged that I had the chance to see and hear these guys being a teenager.

  • It's funny - I was at my peak (ish) when this song was out - its almost 30 years ago, I have to lie down, I feel old - I'm only 41. however I have wonderful memories of this song - I can still smell the air - beautiful memories, simple song - forever young.

  • I really fell in love for Lori in those days when i was only 13 years old.

Every time I see this video I remember that feeling that makes me feel good.

  • This is Lori Singer-- Ariel in Footloose!! totes diff!!beautiful in thistoo! in footloose totes diff!

...Lori SInger is a total babe !!!

  • Hey, that's not Ween. ugh, how disappointing.

  • I liked her in VR5.

  • Was the boyfriend in an episode of Monk as an FBI agent?

  • @mcelvas He is from "eight is enough" way back in the 80"s

  • That's what you get for not reading the blurb. :)

  • It's not because it ain't your type of music that you have to misjudge us cause you don't seem to k now what good music is

  • amen

  • What memories! i know she's not the greatest singer and she never made out that she was. But I think her vocals suit the song and add to the vulnerability of the track. Nice one Lori considering you were only really there to play the chello!

  • I need the karaoke of this song for monday...

    can anyone help me?? =(

    please...!

  • I used to love Fame and had a bit of a crush on Lori Singer, however I remember this episode where she was heart-broken and Bruno gave her this song, but what happened to the 2nd verse?:

"It's all gone, but the memories

    come back in scattered pieces

Your eyes shine (Your eyes shine)

Your smile glows (Your smile glows)

and my loneliness for you increases

  • I've still got the first two Kids From Fame albums on vinyl. I know every single note of every song.

  • This song gives me goose bumps! Fantastic memories!!

  • For those who are dissing the singing - Lori Singer's character was there for her cello abilities... not her singing. Plus, if you had seen this episode, she said she wasn't a "singer" before the song started... but it was a song that Bruno had written from a poem she'd written - so she was trying it out.

  • What a cute song.....Fame really rock in my era.

Kids these days just doesn't get the same doses.

  • This is the first song a ever recorded myself singing!!

    Oh god the memories!!

    Vix x

  • i lived for this show love to see reruns

  • When Julie left the show, she didn't even get a leaving scene, just the other Fame kids finding out from her mother, she maried a body builder who Doris said had "no neck">

Bit of a sad ending for Julie

  • Its says performed by Lori Singer surely u mean butchered.

  • When I was 13 I would listen to this every night. Teenage Blues, I guess. All over a cute Italian boy!

  • PRETTY SONG, SHITTY VOICE

  • Yeh Simon cowell would have a field day with her.your voice is shit.next lol.

  • So true. If all of the kids went up before Simon which ones do you think would get past their first audition?

  • hm.. maybe coco, doris fo sure, and danny from the first season

  • She really wasn't a very singer! It still bought back loads of memories so thanks for posting!

  • god this brings back memories - of when i was a kid..

greatt to her it again - i still remember the words - how sad !! im 42 now..

  • I'm the same, Im 37 and I was actually crying at Stargazer a few minutes ago!! My cousin and I used to do this one when asked to sing at family parties etc., I haven't sung it in years and I still know it! Brilliant memories!

  • darn I can't remember the storyline for this episode... and I watched them alllllllll

  • I tried to explain the storyline, but it was too many letters - so I'll try to message it to you. If it's any help to jog your memory - it's the one with the Mannequin song at the end, and with the student teacher/journalist who tries to take advantage of Lori Singer's character.

  • ah... it's coming back to me.... Thx

  • bad voice but i liked her on "Fame" !!

  • i love this song

  • Mmm... reach for the gin...

  • COOL.
