  • listening to this i feel like there couldnt have been a black sabbath without being heavily influenced from bands like these.... if not from just this song alone

  • Hey there! I really like the garage sound. It´s a kind of honest, raw and rough sound. I really love this track - thank you for uploading. In the mid 60s one of my favorites was a garage band from Scandinavia called THE ZETTLERS. Check up their versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delialah". Irresistible f.....g good.

  • @TheSunbau I sure will.....thanx for the comment and the hot tip!

  • 4 people don't like garages.

  • @muddyboyc ha ha ha hah aha yep!

  • We play in a garage sometimes. :-)

  • @DeepBlueDJinn Welp.......that's all we could ever afford! ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

  • The Dirty Shames lineup consisted of Dave Alexander, Billy Cheatham, Ron Asheton and Scott Asheton. The band members later joined The Stooges.

  • A real fuckin' gem!

  • @KiwiZepFan87 Gald you liked it......I LOVE this song!

  • shangri-las at 0:11?

  • @beatles5445 YES!!!! Good eye!

  • these guys must have been the coolest around back then , haha even today

  • wasnt there a dirty shames with one gary larson in it? sadly NOT the great cartoonist, but a right wing tool who ended up penning some "antirock" tracts???

  • isnt ron asheton (the stooges) playing guitar in this early band?

  • @andreacaccese I don't know about that.....but I don't know enough about this band to say a definite yay or nay

Ron is sadly missed and he was more important to rock n' roll than the world may ever know.... :)

  • @econoroller thanks much for the answer :-) Wikipedia says he was a part of this band before being enrolled by Iggy in The Stooges, although it could just be a band with the same name!

You are right , Ron Asheton was probably one of the most underrated musicians in rock and roll...btw if you like the stooges, you can get a free cover of TV eye from me if you d'l like...pretty weird version i guess , right here! andreacaccese.bandcamp.com

    bye!!

  • I NEVER NEW THERE WAS PUNK IN THE SIXTIES, GREAT! ☮♪☮♪☮♪☮♪☮♪☮♪☮♪☮♪☮♪☮♪☮♪☮♪☮♪☮♪☮♪"

  • @Psychedalien Yes there sure was!!! (thank Gawd!)

  • the dirty shames...I have a hendrix poster that has the Crying Shames as an opening act...

  • @dougcassidy Thanx for stopping by and listening/watching.....crying shames were a totally different group but they were also good....happy new year!

  • ....

  • @TheDsmyth :)

  • I remember this song as a kid...But I also know nothing about them.

  • Outstanding... One of the reasons this better type of music isn't out there is due to the industry now. Its changed way too much. Its showcase manufactured through a small panel of people.. I thing musicians and writers need to take back the crown and run the show.

  • @ScriptWorker AMEN to that for sure!!!

Fortunately the internet has leveled the playing field and now getting exposure isn't

something reserved for the elitists :)

  • @econoroller Good point. I'm gonna start a 60s group!

  • This ain´t bad! 60s Garage Sounds are far too underrated!

  • Haven`t heard this one, not bad, but not quite as good as my favorites of that period. It makes me wish it were 1966 again. So much raw garage style music, so many bands that were a heartbeat away from stardom. Bands had a chance of breaking through then and record companies were giving them a real shot. Today you have about as good a chance as being struck by lightning or abducted by aliens...

  • "If the Doors or John Lennon were around today, the industry wouldn't sign them in a million years" -(Jello Biafra, Dead Kennedy's) IT IS TRUE.

NEVER will I bow to what THEY say is cool...I decide that for myself. That's why I haven't bought a c.d. yet this year and don't plan to. I don't support artistic monopolization and manipulation. Thanx for your comments.....they are sooo true :)

  • Its encouraging to hear from someone who shares my view. I`m extremely frustrated that popular music is so severely pipelined through such a narrow set of eyes...

  • You are not alone pilesovinyl.

I'm trying to aim at the disenchanted (and disappointed) crowd of people who wanna rock, but don't need to sport a certain look or be included in any certain group.....the ones who just want to hear good powerful stripped-down stuff, but they aren't finding it on the radio or on American Idol....

  • econoroller: Sorry, I just realized I meant to type: the track by the Shames that is the flip side of this , "I DON'T CARE" , is available on the following compilations:

(followed by the ones I listed in the previous comment). Sorry, I had to do serious editing to squeeze everything in on the previous post.

  • Thanx RioyCity66, and sorry it took me so long... what I said on the comment below is only partially true....I DO INDEED BUY C.D.'s ......but usually from bands like 60's garage punk stuff and most of those bands are long gone. I should have specified that I do buy c.d.'s just NO NEW CRAP because 90% of it is pablum and I want the RAW DIRT so I can cook it myself HA HA HA HA HA funny how dirt is easier for me to chew than the payola pablum they try to serve me these days HA HA HA HA

  • Originally released 9/66, now on these comps:

    1) CD: Howling For My Darling/ "Teenage Shutdown" series

    2) CD: Pebbles V. 8 (S. Cal, Vol. #1, "Riot...")

    3) LP ( vinyl, folks): Highs In Mid-60s, V. 2 (LA '66) (AIP)

    4) I have it on the 7" 6-song 33 1/3 RPM EP: "First Sixties Garage Sampler", on Dave Gibson's MOXIE label, c. 1980 Fellow 60s garage enthusiasts: I've made a "Top 50" list of my 60s garage faves, if interested contact me here - I used to be a DJ on 88.1 WMBR and play 60s stuff

  • The other side of this "I Don't Care", is ever better - one of the all-time 60s garage greats.

  • wish I had it.....I'd post it.

if anybody has maybe they'll post it (hint hint hint!)

if anyone has it please post it :)

  • Aha, gloves!! Thanks for lending me your keen ear, suspectdevice7!

  • I would gladly make gloves with Ann Margaret (tee hee hee)

  • I would gladly make gloves with her myself!!
