im sorry, we're not all like that. what he's trying to say is that we acknowledge that you guys did this show first, but you do not own the rights to the show itself. it is an amazing show and a crowd pleaser. that is why foothill decided to give it a go. you guys were amazing in your own respect and we hope to make it into our own too. im sorry it had to come to foothill and el dorado kids bitching each other out. i just hope that we can all just chill out for a sec and enjoy the season.

wow BlackHawk2007D and acstephen, you guys need to chill the fuck out. Foothill has just as much of a right to use this field show as El Dorado did. If El Dorado signed an exclusivity contract with Goodwin then you might have a point, but since your band didn't, stop bitching. Both bands have a different twist on the show. Personally I think Foothill's show is much better, only because I've seen the El Dorado show and it isn't as good as you think it is.

there is no different twist. theyre identical. what is different in your opinion? from where im sitting, everything is the same, as if they watched our videotape for days and then put it on their field. and el dorados show must have been good for them to copy it, so dont try to put down the original. ps- we won socal championships that year, so dont tell me it wasnt good.

watch set 1 and 3, Hunting Wabbits and samba del gringo, and you'll see the differences. I wasn't saying that you weren't good, just not this untouchable field show you've built it up to be. I wouldn't doubt that you won championships, because it is a great show. I understand band pride, but there is a time when you just have to get over it. Foothill is doing the show now and you should be happy that they thought enough of your show to make it better and put on a great show for the audience.

and if they did, its up for grabs for any marching band to purchase

And who cares if the music's the same?

The difference between the two shows is the drill and the way the two bands express their movements, through visuals, instrumentation, instrument placing on the field and forms.

Now on the other hand.. Heros Gods and Mythical Creatures is originally commissioned for 2 highschools(;

i see your point, but the problem is that the drill IS the same. i marched that show with el dorado, and trust me, the two are virtually identical. foothill "expressed" the show the same as edhs. we had a great year and worked really hard on the show, so it just sucks to watch someone else get credit for our work. if it was just the music, it would be different... but its not. its the whole show down to the color of the guard uniforms, sax solos, drill, drum parts, colorguard equipment, etc.
