Wonderful video!! Loved the music! I have the same bread maker and I LOVE IT and USE IT about once a week. Thank you for the video. Kids and I are going to make bagels today!
I just tried doing these and my dough sucked, it was so gooey. I try fixing it by hand and then just decided to put it back on the machine. I added a lot more flour, but I don`t know about these. I am upset.
I actually appreciate the video, I think it was very well done, you didn't spend too much time showing unnecessary things or talking too much. I'm actually glad you used your breadmaker b/c that's what I was looking for, and I think you may have one model up from mine! Great job and thx.
Thank you for sharing your receipe. and I don't understand are you looking for a RECEIPE or MUSIC if you don't like the Music IT"S EASY AN SIMPLE TURN IT OFF
This recipe is ok - but if you want true new york style bagels, let them sit in the fridge overnight to proof, don't boil them quite as long, turn up the heat on the oven and reduce the amount of time cooked to compensate.
Since all the info is provided in writing, why don't you just turn off your sound if you don't like the song? And April... you can make it by hand with the same ingredients. Don't be such a snob. Bread machines aren't for everyone, but they are great for lots of people!
AGH! The moment I see a bread machine I turn away. if you have to use one then you done know how to treat the food you are preparing. the only time its forgivable is if you have arthritis or something.
i totally agree with you!!!, but i use my bread maker because i can I schedule it, but i have made too many times little doughs, the real dough fun, its with a dough with more than a kilo of flour!!, and is even better to develope the gluten in wet doughs!!!
@Aprilshowersss Ridiculous nonsense. What matters is the result. Absolutely nothing else. If you can get good bread out of a bread machine, there is not one bad thing you can say about doing so.
@Aprilshowersss I love my bread machine. It makes the dough while I go to work. When I come home ( split shifts) the dough is ready to be worked with. A bread machine is not evil, it's a blessing!! I make so much more baked cooks with one than I did without one. It does all the hard work, then you get to "treat the food" when that work is done. Course that's the idea...I wouldn't expect a bread machine shunner to understand. :P Come to the dark side...get a bread machine....mwwwaahahahahaha!!!!
@rexenne I actually don't care if one uses a bread machine, but what annoyed me that day was that I was looking at how to vids for breads and everyone kept using bread machines. To make an instructional video about how to make bread from scratch and not show how to kneed the dough is not going to help alot of people. That,s one of the things that people are looking for in instructional bread videos. lately every other video starts great but then they bring out the damned bread machine!
@Aprilshowersss It's fairly simple to knead bread. You take it & fold it over itself, over & over & over again until it's super smooth. The motion is instinctual as well. Smooth out the top after kneading for 10-20 minutes, place "seam" side down to rise, then bake. Most breads are baked at 350 degrees until golden brown. I did a lot of bread by hand before the machine. So glad I have it now as it means more wholesome baked products more often. :)
@rexenne OH! And the best way to get a crispy crust (like sourdough crust) is to put a shallow pan of water in the oven while it preheats & then leave it in there while your bread bakes. The secret is the humidity! Check it a couple times to make sure it doesn't go dry. You can also mist the bread too while it bakes.
@Aprilshowersss What a ridiculous thing to say. Do you cook prepare everything you make by hand? While you are at it why don't you build a campfire and try to bake your bagels that way. Have you ever eaten a bagel at a bagel shop? 9 times out of 10 a machine kneaded the dough.
