  • when posted i was 11 and would go down with my belongigns since i havent got that many!

  • oah man! too many fat people on one side of the boat

  • Imagine that monster of a ship underwater i'd flip a shit if i saw that

  • Did you hear or feel the ship hit the reef? That's some pretty deep water so close to the shore.

  • was that blue star ferries

  • In the old days of wooden warships they would drape spare sails over the cannon-ball holes to keep the ship afloat. As cruise ships usually have acres of carpet and hundreds of mattresses why not do the same? Could it be that most of the crew are basically soda-jerks and not Able Bodied Seamen. Its disgusting when Lloyds of London keep getting screwed by cheats.

  • @techdavey1000 A.B.'s are among the least skilled of our present day seafarers. The most skilled on modern containerships are the Chief Refrigeration Engineer, or Electrician or 2nd Assistant Engineer, Chief Engineer, etc. And the practice of flagging out to the cheapest 'Flag Of Convenience' (FOC) vessels and trying for the cheapest crews has made going to sea much more risky. For many years huge bulker or tanker owners would just reclassify with another Classification Society if they were ....

  • @3Mudbone1 Yep you are right about cheapness. I have heard about ships suffering from weld decay and the third world crew being ordered to fake things up with filler and paint just before inspections. Allegedly in the olden days in England there were fake copper nails where just the heads were copper. This made the nails rust away and the ships would fall apart. I believe that these fake nails were eventually declared illegal. RN ABSs 100 years ago had to be quite skilled - I've got the books!

  • @techdavey1000 ever declassed. It was a huge scandle after losing ship after ship after ship. The west coast of the U.S. is where the first steamship appeared two years before the gold strike in California in 1847. Right after that they were using old worn out ships to haul gold prospectors, passengers and cargo up and down the west coast. Outrageous amounts of life and limb were lost in shipwrecks. Why do you think so many bar entrances are named 'Cape Disapontment' etc. on the west coast?

  • @techdavey1000 Mispelled 'scandal'. :)

  • That's the one at the bottom of the Santorini caldera, right?

  • @DaMuttzNutz Yes, a well marked area y it happened, I'll never know

  • how could 2 people have drowned there? the ship took the whole night to sink, that should be enough time to rescue everyone.

  • It looks like the ship was close enough to shore that you could have just stood on deck until the ship sank enough and then swam to shore.

  • it sucks that great ship sank :( that ship was in sweden before, run by Birka company, cruise in baltic sea^^ i'v been on it :D Its awesome, now its sunk..damn makes no sense a so fresh nice ship just sank.

  • @ajlisknillat ikr, such a beautiful ship gone :(

  • hmmm... that looks like a boat i've seen in Stockholm, sweden. but they sold it, this must be that boat.

  • @antonl1996 yep its the birka princess

  • @antonl1996 Birka Princess - Birka Line - (1986 - 2006) then became Sea Diamond - Louis Cruise Line - (2006 - 2007)

  • Gritzelis Konstantinos Master of the Louis Ships , cultivates on board passenger vessels, sexual harassment, insults and humiliation of young womens. It is known to all members on board of all nationalities and. religious beliefs. Gritzelis Konstantinos - a disgrace and a violation of all laws and regulations of the company LOUIS CRUISES LINES. It should be thrown out of the company as a big fat stinking bag of garbage!!!

  • horrible think

  • Wondering how this could be happend!!?..Does anyone knows?..I just came back from Santorini ..and I tried to look at the point where the ship sunk!!

  • There is a floating bouy area where the ship sunk. It is next to where the main port is in Santorini. Apparently, the ship ran into the cliff during the night. It took a few days to sink and everyone got off safe. There is a big consipiracy that it was sunk on purpose apparently. The ship is still full of fuel and no one has worked out how to remove it as yet. If the fuel blows up it will damage the footings of the island and santorini will sink into the ocean.

  • ok...Rowa123 thanks a lot!!.

  • hey dude get a life and get your facts right!

  • @cancunpilot1 you get a life and stop searching for people who dont know stuff

  • @Rowa123 umm how wuld it blow up under water

  • @juki0h hahaha! yes! your the first guy who has ever responded to something like that haha i like you :P

  • @sunflowerrevolution thats like saying you survived a train crash going 2 mph! it takes a looong time for a ship that size to go down!

  • @DjHardaFasta in calm water, in shallow (i see some cliffs there or something)

  • did 2 people really drowned??????????i wanna know here! o yea go on carnival not 1 carnival ship ever sank!EVER! I AM SAYING EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • True carnival and royal caribbean are really fun ive been on both

  • yes 2 people we never found but yes they are presumed dead by drowning

  • it was e swedish boat before. and greek bought it. i have been on that boat :D

  • i wouldve started busting in all the stored they had on board jacking as much stuff as i can...since it wasnt sinking fast and it wanst far off the coast id get whatever i can, put it in my suitcase, and jack one of the boats they have on the side and peace out

  • Too bad noone had a fishing pole on the lifeboat.

  • Got several settlement checks, an extra one if you signed a waiver. Did not refund everything that I lost, and wasn't near the amount you could get had it happened here in America and you pursed the issue legally, but better then nothing.

  • damn! i just gotten back from my first cruise today.. and that was my biggest fear the ship sinking. but wow good thing your and everyone got off.. did you get you money refund or what?...

  • hey dude i saw that ship while i was on vacation and i saw you all on this boat with life vests and all while i was having breakfast or lunch or sumthing. idk it was a long time ago.

  • i would have stayed on that sinking ship with the water inside the ship, fun

  • Two people drowned!

  • that sucks... all those expensive laptops and clothes gone blol

  • i wood have jumped off

  • Good heavens! You escaped from a sinking ship? That must have been pretty scary o.o

  • I have been on that ship when I was younger!!!! The name of the ship then was:Birka Princess I think

  • it took 16 hours for it to sink... they couldof towed it to the shallow part nearby where 2 other ships lay anchored... hmm wonder why they didn't...... all i know is that they build good ships in Finland... This one was built in Helsinki 1985 and delivred to birka line 1986

  • U-47 german submarine was the cause

  • NO it didn't. The ship sank on April 6, 2007 after running aground near the Greek island of Santorini the previous day.

  • No it was a kamikazi pilot from japan dude

  • I thought it was a rogue killer whale trying to mate with it...!!

  • lmfao

  • Why can't I find any video of the ship actually going under???

  • I have to agree--they almost certainly allowed it to sink. I was on the ship, and it definitely didn't look as if they expended much effort in getting us to shore. Took them about four hours to evacuate us.

What a beautiful ship. Still incredible to think that this massive piece of technology that I spent several days on is now a lifeless wreck on the ocean floor.

  • ur lucky in two ways u lived and got 2 c a hip sink T_T

  • Well they said the situation was under control and that it was taken on no more water...I personally believe that they intentionally sunk it for insurance purposes so myself and thousands of other people lost everything they brought with them.

  • Yeah you are right. They did it for insurance purpose.I love this ship very much and had seen one beautiful video related to it at splashvision . com.

  • woow what did they do with it, let it sink or towe it to shore?

  • oh my!!!Great Ship!!!

  • great sound!

  • My poor Zak! *huggles* We are so glad you are safe buds.

    -Michi

  • Glad you got out, its a miracle only two people are missing....lets not lose hope

  • That´s definite once-in-a-lifetime experience.
