lorenzo can say "we dont know" what we talknig about..but i seen what zuffa made in a pay per view and what they paid out to the fighters on that card and it was like 5 times more i i remember right..and some fighters..main draws make plenty of money that's true but what about the lower end of the cards fighters..you think 10k is good salary for a fighter who can only fight 3 to 4 times year?u know their expense training camps, training partners, supplements etc,.please
@phatz631 Please note the prices listed on wiki are merely a show purse. The real money is made from headlining a PPV event, fighters also have contractual salaries & sponsors. UFC makes money from it's own sponsors; live gate; PPV; merchandise ect. On top of all that, fighters that fight for Zuffa are covered up to $100,000 medical insurance (even for training injuries) which even boxing doesn't do for its athletes.
@Immortalsyn83 i wrote this long time ago and forget exactly what i was saying..but if i remember right it was that your average..average fighter..don't make nothing..not headliners..they do okay..but even them should make more..but your undercard fighter only makes average 5 or 6thousand a fight..thats no more than 24k a year,..u can make more at mcdonalds..and even those fighters should make more money..period..
Underpaid? Compared to boxers or soccer players (in europe) or the NFL guys, maybe. Compared to the average person? No, not really. Look at what an average person makes per year. Then google some numbers on what UFC fighters make. Number 100 on that list is still well above the average.
We can debate all day if they are getting a fair cut. But to say that they don't get paid much is ridiculous.
@Altairograph under card fighters salarys are sometimes as low as 5 thousand..most a guy can fight is 4x a year.thats 20k an entire year,,,your average fast food employee makes that dude..wtf u talking about?? just saying..
@MMAstokke yea but only a few bonuses can be handed out..you could have a hard fight and another fight on the same card alil more exciting gets the fotn bonus..your SOL.. then what?

@Immortalsyn83 ur high off ur ass...lol when lesnar fought frank mir he only made 200,000 for both fights...the highest payed guys are guys like anderson silva and i guarantee u its nowhere near more then a million
@CLOVERCITYY I have to chop up this link so you can read it: mmajunkie. com /news/15498/ufc-100-fighters-salaries-brock-lesnar-and-georges-st-pierre-top-earners-from-x-x-million-payroll.mma
@CLOVERCITYY15 You can also do some simple math to see how much an event made, UFC 100 did approximately 1.6 million buys x $50 (low end if they didn't get HD which is another $10) = $80 million. That doesn't include revenue generated by the gate or what UFC makes from its own sponsors. It's not hard to believe people such as Lesnar are making big money. What you are looking at is only a win/loss bonus. Top fighters also earn PPV money, contract, sponsorships, endorsements & incentive bonuses.
all except Fedor whom right earned about $1.5US M against Hendo - That is the only reson he never fought in the UFC cos he disnt wanna get paid 100,000$ per fight and have to give half of his sponsorship to UFC. Beleive what you want but that is the fact - you may well have herd Dana cos I heard im say in severel interviews - we dont deal with managers we deal with fighters - because fighters dont realise they jsut signed 7 fights in 2 yrs regardless if they are the champ they sill get 100K$
@thesashworth ok so lets kick men unconcious and elbow, and knee them in the face ..........anderson silva doesnt even make a qt. of what mayweather makes......flloyd makes 40 million a fight...anderson pobably only makes a million if that
@CLOVERCITYY15 I am sure Anderson Silva in compensated nicely, his last event was viewed by over 30 million homes in Brazil alone. UFC gets paid nicely by Fox / FX their major network sponsors as well as plenty of mainstream sponsors that pay them to host events. You are still living 10 years in the past... Wake up its 2011 & Zuffa is now over a billion dollar organization from dominating the PPV industry! MMA fighters are on their way towards boxer type of salaries. Give Zuffa another 10 years.
@Immortalsyn83 r u that fuckin inbreded ? dana white and this guy pay there fighters jack shit....how bout u do more research before u talk.this man owns casino's all over new york.bj penn says dana white is money hungry as fuck and he pays him jack shit.anderson silva is probably the only mother fucker in the business getting cock loads in his mouth why cuz dana white blows him in the bathroom as the "P4P" kinig of mma...he's dana whites fedor
@CLOVERCITYY15 UFC is making tons of money, enough to afford its roster of fighters off its network sponsors alone. Ticket sales easily cover incentive bonuses & event costs. His brother runs the business, you can't fault him for being part of a family business. That was an old interview with BJ back when he went into K-1 in 2004. UFC just got the big Fox/FX network deal a few months ago as well as acquiring most of the top competition in MMA. Lesnar is probably the highest, fighting Reem next.
@CLOVERCITYY15 YOU really need to do your research. There is a reason why all those companies that paid out crazy salaries folded. Fighting is a performance based job. If you do well, you will get paid. 8000 to show is better than a lot of undercard boxer's salaries. A guy at my gym had 3 fights in the WEC few years ago. In addition to what is reported, you get bonuses and gifts. Jon Jones just bought a Bentley. If you win you get paid. If you lose, you get paid as bad as minor league athletes.
@sdeevg nick diaz and rampage want to go to Boxing.. Anderson Silva has boxed before... regardless to the revenues off payperview and front gate sales. UFC is cheating these "ENTERTAINERS/FIGHTERS" of what they deserve.
@thetrooper42 That doesn't include a percentage of the PPV revenue, which UFC all-stars get. Silva is fucking rich as hellllllll, but he is also the best MMA fighter of all time.
LOL. He was a millionaire long before the brothers bought the UFC. What you talking about? If the fighters don't have a problem with their income, why won't you guys just stfu?
i used to love boxing, but now a days all these boxing guy ducking each other. especially pussyweather. he says im the greatest but wont fight the best. i hope that guy hes boxing yes boxing not fighting woops his ass then hows he going to feel knowing he could of got beat by paqiow and it wouldn't have been as bad as getting his as kicked by a nobody. yes boxing sucks its true.
@bossman510 True, BUT most Boxers are not over paid, Most MMA fighters are actually paid fairly for there performance. There are only Two Overpaid Boxers as of late which are Floyd and Pacquiao. That said where is Boxing today? they pay those two huge sums of money cause they are the only names that can still carry their sport where as MMA more especially UFC has tones of names and can still pay out good money to the fihgter who work for it.
The fighters who make $10+ million are the ones who draw huge on PPV. I would guess that Brock Lesnar would be the highest paid UFC fighter, simply because he easily draws the most buys. While he makes somewhere around 400K for the fight, he can easily make 5 mil plus when he gets his ppv shares.
how the fuck do you figure this, you dumbass? Dana has ALREADY CONFIRMED that Anderson makes the most money. Lorenzo in THIS interview confirmed that his top guys make multi millions in a year. Are you their financial advisor? Thought so.
I wonder who these guys are that make well over $10 Mil a year without sponsorships that Lorenzo is talking about. Maybe Anderson, GSP, and Lesnar? i don't know about that. That statement seems hard to believe. Most of these fighters in the UFC now, especially the top fighters like GSP, Anderson and others fight 2 times a year at the most. Are they really making $5 Mil a fight already without any sort sponsorship? I don't know.
The fighters arent underpaid. It's a complete mistunderstanding of salary structure. In the UFC they spread the wealth, so everyone makes a fair share, not just two fighters, like in boxing.
In a boxing ppv card, mayweather or pacman or someone like that, could make almost 50 million per fight, whereas the rest of the fighters that night makes nothing. So people say, how come GSP isnt making 50 mill? Well, because the UFC couldnt run like that, and mma couldnt have become what it is today.
@MMAoracle So you'd classify the $270,000 that Pavlik made in guaranteed purse underneath the Pacquiao-Mosley fight as "nothing"? Or the $165,000 & $125,000 that Vazquez Jr and Arce made underneath that same Pacquio-Mosley as "nothing" as well? What about the $200,000 that the unproven Daniel Jacobs made the last time he fought underneath the main bout on a PPV card? Figures per the NSAC which is one of the few commissions to release purse, but also doesn't include the other revenue made.
@MMAoracle Its also very common for boxers to make seven figures fighting on regular HBO and Showtime. Bradley & Alexander both made over a million when they foguth each other on regular HBO. Khan is making seven figures now when he fights on HBO. Andre Berto has exceeded a million a couple of times on regular HBO fighting against lesser comp. Pascal, Hopkins, all the members of the Super 6 tournament. Bute signed a 3 fight/ 6 million deal on Showtime earlier this year. Etc, etc.
@MMAoracle Even a young and unproven guy like Saul Alvarez is making $350,000 fighting on regular HBO, and that figure doesn't include all the money he gets from Mexican television where he is an insanely huge draw. Gamboa has made $350,000-500,000 fighting on regular HBO. Smaller guys like Donaire & Montiel made $350,000 and $250,000 respectively fighting each other on regular HBO. Again, purses as per the NSAC and doesn't include money made via other means
@MMAoracle Those few figures are from guys in the mid to lighter weight divisions too. Doesn't include guys like Arreola who made $2 million fighting Vitali on regular HBO. Wladimir Klitschko and David Haye just fought on a fight carried by HBO and their purses were at least in the 15 to 20 million dollar range each. Even a no-hoper like Shannon Briggs made $750,000 in purse vs a Klitschko recently enough.
@ClinchFighter911 Americans have been getting conditioned for the past 40 years, they have forgotten the tradition and how things in this country are really suppose to be happen. Corruption has won look at all the unconstitutional wars etc.
You are generally mistaken. It's not the Unions fault. All unions do is negotiate wages and use their tools to achieve political sway.
Jobs are going away from the U.S b/c CEO's decide to go to countries where they have shit for Unions and they can afford to pay BELOW the AMERICAN LOWER WAGE while they give themselves HUGE BONUSES every year. Think about it: does that seem *right* to you?
If you wanna hold someone to the fire you should think of the CEO's, Wall Street, and the bankers.
@JasionJones Well he is just saying that people who don't know what the fighters are really making shouldn't be commenting on what fighters are making
@JasionJones he never said that. his statement was that keyboard warriors do say things. not that everyone who has ever said that is a keyboard warrior
@JasionJones usually its the keyboard warriors that hate on what they think the fighters get paid. I've seen an interview where jon jones said that he made well over 1 million dollars for the shogun fight.
@JasionJones keyboard warriors are the people who think that they are fixing the world with their opinions on their keyboard even when the 99% of them are just average people that havent achive their goals in life.
He's right. A lot of keyboard warriors here on YT and mma forums constantly talk shit about how UFC fighters are underpaid when they don't even know what the fuck they're talking about. They look at the salaries released by the athletic commissions and immediately assume that's the fighter's entire purse, when that's clearly not even the case. I have UFC fighters on my FB list and every single one of them are fucking BALLIN. Underpaid my foot.
@JasionJones it makes them trolls but I dont think he wanted to use that word, they are trolls cuz they DONT KNOW what fighters make and they act likee they do

JasionJones 6 months ago
@JasionJones Well he is just saying that people who don't know what the fighters are really making shouldn't be commenting on what fighters are making

shooter246123 6 months ago
@JasionJones he never said that. his statement was that keyboard warriors do say things. not that everyone who has ever said that is a keyboard warrior

@JasionJones usually its the keyboard warriors that hate on what they think the fighters get paid. I've seen an interview where jon jones said that he made well over 1 million dollars for the shogun fight.

@JasionJones keyboard warriors are the people who think that they are fixing the world with their opinions on their keyboard even when the 99% of them are just average people that havent achive their goals in life.

@JasionJones

@secret212000 I guess you're right.

Love them or Hate them, you have to respect what Zuffa has achieved for MMA. The UFC is in the big league now.
