The republicans aren't "refusing to compromise", they have proposed 11 pieces of Legislation that would bring DOWN the cost of Healthcare WITH-OUT the "Public Option" that the democrats are pushing.
Thank GOD that the republicans are listening to their constituents (who consist of republicans, democrats---like me--- and independents)
