Definitely not with stock internals haha. If we're talking talking taking the same amount of cash and putting it into both than yeah, the big v8 would wipe the floor with a 4banger. Theres definitely a replacement for displacement, but its a hell of a lot less reliable, and due to heat saturation over time you lose a lot of horsepower in your turbod 4bangers.
