  • I eat grains, im thin, we need carb. Im a raw vegan!!! meat makes you fat!!! what the hell. Why do people think grains are bad its not, I eat grains everyday. I cut out meat. I eat fruit and veggies. This video isnt right.

  • I don't believe whole grains causes weight gain its the white breads that do. The only reason people are gaining weight is because they're not adding enough fruits and vegtables in their diets. I think natalie was trying to stress eating whole grains instead of white bread and they should probably be in the middle because alot of meats aren't safe to eat anymore.

  • Yes whole grain causes LB gain. How many products labeled as whole grain are sold.....the numbers are huge. Still we get fatter and fatter.....people eat way to many carbs...whole grain or not.

  • Too much does. People think if they eat more bread carbs in their meals they'll get fuller, when its that piece of fruit or vegtable that will get them full, rather than adding more bread. Americans just need to do their research instead of listening to the media all the time or weight gain is going get worst than the economy.

  • I have to say screw that to low carb b/c I need my carbs!! Half my plate is always filled with the carb while a quarter is veggies and the other quarter is protein. YEP=)

  • Low carb is a proven weight loss method. What you eat is up to you as i really do not care one way or the other.

  • What if you dont need to lose weight, why not eat whole grains, its so good for you. I dont think someone can eat just meat long term, youll just end up gaining all your weight back by eating other things again. Eat your whole grains!! 7 servings a day or more, you need the fiber !!! you dont get fiber from eating meat, you get it from fruit and veggies too, but you need from whole grains. Meat makes you constipated if eaten too much!!!

    carb feeds the brain. we need carbs! there are people who died from low carb diets! people, calories make you fat, not calories!!!

  • the biggest farse with the food pyramid reccomended by the USAD until years ago was that it had REFINED carbs on the bottom, like cream crackers and white bread and pasta. put inslin up, it will keep fat FROM being burned and the body will burn anything except fat ( will burn muscle and protein for example ). you see that people that lose weight on Atkins look much more healthy than people who lose weight on lo fat pyramids because Atkins is muscle sparring.

  • Thanks! If you have oh say an hour + and you have nothing to do I found a great video here on you tube done by Stanford University about the effectiveness of the Atkins diet. Lead researcher is a 25yr vegan so it must have killed him to see Atkins do so well!

  • Every part of view is welcome here Diva! I used to think as you do about portion size until i read Good Calories Bad Calories by Gary Taubes.

    Research in that book can't just be ignored!

  • I partially agree with some of your comments, disagree with another. I do agree that we have too many "whole grain" / carb servings per day. However, I think the obesity epidemic is due more to the enormous portion sizes we eat as a society, in addition to the hard to process fats, carbs, etc. Overall, I agree with your concept, but I think there's got to be a happy medium somewhere between the two extremes (for normal diets, not for my diet, which *should* be mainly protein:)
