@rcxboxtechdeck its not all about speed. dont go with a 3t brushless and a high gear ratio- go with a 6-17t and a LOW gear ratio. that way, you get more accelleration and torque, but controllable speeds in the corners. also, reinforce your chassis, esp. if you're using a tt01.

Can someone explain to me why Rally car guys and only Rally car guys run behind their cars when they drive them?

@RCWinnipeg I ask the same thing.  I'm assuming they are trying to keep it as "real" as possible so most rally races are from point A to point B.

@RCWinnipeg because the tracks are so long. they are not circuits, they are A to B paths. I actually think the running makes it more immersive, but that's just me.

@Keiichitsuchiya6 because that defeats the purpose of Rally. Rally is designed to be on roads, so no clean circuits to race on. and with a platform, you loose all the scenery that makes this hobby really spectacular.

@mhsfootball28 any rally block tires. almost everyone uses the tamiya Rally Block Tires. pretty much, any tire that fits on a sedan realistically and has some good grip off-road while maintaining some street cred, so to speak.

@cro101graff Amazon. the TT-01 chassis is designed for on-road, but can be easily modified and is really cheap. the DF-03Ra chassis is designed for off road, but can do on-road alright as well. pretty much, go with what you like and your budget.

As cool as rallycross is dont get me wrong, I think it would of been cooler if it was european styled rally where its not a circuit and there were walls, treets, building, tractors and things they had to dodge.

@Biraghi128 - This is not rallycross. This is classic (as you wrote european) style rally with special stages from point A to point B against clock. There is also one super special stage with parallel track for two competitors, but still against the clock. Type "domoradice rally" in youtube search box and you'll see this kind of rc rally on more scale track with trees, bridges, fences, tractors, etc.

@GP3PocketSnare neither. HPI, Tamiya, and other companies make dedicated Rally Block Tires, which have good off-road and on-road performance.

I've just bought a Tamiya XB Sport TT-01 Lancia Delta. I just took it across the road to do some off road rally and it's amazing! but it did get quite caked in dust but I cleaned it. What would you recommend for temporary protection of the internals? to stop dust etc.? thanks

@sammyrock0087 For some chassis you can buy an 'overshell', although not sure if they are officially called that, most people though just cover it with some kind of plastic with a bit of DIY.

@MegaModelMan - 1/10 scale electric powered models (tamiya, yokomo, xray, ...). Orange fencing is made from plastic strip wich construction companies uses when putting wires under the ground.

@Bocaseem - you can try to find clear bodies on eBay or special hobby shops but decals ... nearly all of the cars in video are custom painted with custom decals
