  • Several months ago I had been feeling dizzy and seeing double. As I was walking to my bedroom my right leg went numb and went right out from under me. I got disoriented, slurred my speech and had a hard time responding to oral communication. My husband got me to the ER and I had a hard time even getting my birthday out and still slurred. I couldn't move my right leg at all and my blood pressure was also up. The ER doc didn't do any of those tests and told me I had vertigo and sent me on my way.

  • @sweetrebelar Last week I was at the pharmacy and got a really sharp headache. I went to my car and sat down because I was feeling "out of it" again. I called my husband and slurred really bad again. Two hours later at a different ER the docs ran a CT and it was ok.My primary care doc has me scheduled for an MRI in a couple of days and i see a cardiologist next week. I don't know what an MRI is supposed to do if it was a TIA and a CT was ok.

  • @sweetrebelar I am also diabetic, obese, smoke and have high cholesterol and am not very active due to a a neck disorder. Everytime I get a headache now or my hand right hand drops things I get scared!

  • MY MOTHER JUST HAD A TIA 1 WEEK AGO...

  • hi i have blatently had a tia mini stroke and i was not treated as you said i should be i am in the uk tho so im not sure wether that makes a diffrence tho but i am very over weight at 22 yrs old and i smoke over 300 fags a week i know its not good but i feel like i have not been helped at all tbh

  • @gannitddoge

You have to help yourself. Quit smoking, lose weight.

There is no magic pill or quick fix. People do not realise how common these health problems are, or how fragile health is. You are your biggest health care provider. Doctors are just doctors, not God. They can only do so much.

take care of yourself, take responsibility for your own health.

  • Cadasil is an other big reason for TIA's

  • Ive had one a month ago and im 26 my bp is 192/123 right now and this really helped explain alot of things to me, im not even over weight but i was in a high risk group.

  • I experienced this 3 times ,

I went to the doctor says I'm too young for you to have this my age is 28?all the tests are negative why?

  • @nonielon me too and im 22

  • @EVONEDAY no one is too young to have a stroke. My cousin you see had a stroke and now he can't move his legs and even talk because his tongue is partly numb. He still goes to school and is in an AG class. Even if the brain doesn't control thought it ptlrovides the connection to your body.

  • I had most of the symtoms of the TIA, for example i had numbness in my leg, and hand, but it only lasted for about 10 to 15 minutes. I also felt dizzy and had trouble getting up. I haven't consulted my doctor yet, because im only 20; Im i too young to have a stroke?

  • @EVONEDAY no your not too young to have a stroke its better to be safe than sorry

  • @imathestrorm It is best to ask your doctor(s) this question, as it will likely require other tests to determine what the cause was in your case.

  • I had all the symptoms of the TIA yet all the tests are coming back as negative. No plaque, All clear on CT scan. Blood Work clear,....awaiting the results of echo cardio..and doppler. My G.P. says he is not convinced it was a TIA. What else could it be

  • @imathestorm they dint even give me a urine test let alone a ct scan they just took blood and told me to go home
