  • My step dad's lion fish got torn up by all the fishs in the tank smh it was ugly

  • i have been stung like 4 times during cleaning. (all my fault btw) 3 by the lion (mombasa) and once by a foxface (one spot). luckily im not allergic to the sting so i just flush it out with hot water and im good to go. It does hurt like a bitch though. The foxface hurts even more but even then if your not allergic to it its not really so deadly as people make it seem in my opinion. Overall yes it hurts like a bitch for a bit lol.

  • holy fuck that shit is fast

  • This is captain picard's fish in the show Star Trek TNG.

  • WHOA! Thats the chuck norris of fish!

  • They are an ecological disaster and can destroy up to 80% of the Atlantic reef diversity.

  • @f0rTyLeGz C'mon now, the guy who put up this video is not responsible for all that disaster! I sure that every video on youtube could be associated with some kind of problem in the world. Unless the poster of this video is supporting the degradation of aquatic ecosystems, just be cool.

  • that guppy got ate

  • \/ lol

  • -I got a lionfish!

    -Be careful, they are poisonous!

-Well im not gonna fucking cuddle with it!

  • nooo!!!

  • Beautiful creatures but deadly

  • @TheCelestialEve To both humans and the reef ecosystem.

  • lionfish taste good that's for sure...

  • wow wikipedia was right O-O

  • When i went scuba diving my instructor gave me an harpoon and i killed 11 of this shitty fishes. The reason this is legal is because they reproduced and they havent got any predator

  • @diegotsqui They are really cool fish actually they just got introduced by accident.

  • I was thinking about getting one of these for my aquarium and i was wondering if i can put them with other fish and if they are aggressive?

  • @balistic9911 you can put them with other fish, just make sure the fish is bigger than the lionfishes mouth because they ALWAYS eat their food whole (as in this video) also, do you know that are a saltwater fish?? saltwater tanks are alot more expensive.. to get a lionfish, with the tank and all, will be about 700, plus the cost of a professional to set it up (if you want the salt water done right, it'll make your fish live longer and healthier)

  • @balistic9911 also, a 55 gallon tank is about as small as you can go with them.

  • R.I.P. Fish

  • OH JESUS NEXT THING WE KNOW THERE GONNA GROW LEGS AND KILL US ALL

  • So beautiful. I love these fish. I wish I had a tank full of them!

  • They are beautiful creatures...

  • How dangerous are they ? and did you see it eat that little fish, he had reactions of a cat

  • @XONation the spines are venomous. Even once they fall off they still hold their venom.. You have to have a pretty bad reaction to die from it but it will hurt like all hell if you get pricked.. Ultimately if you're planning on having one as a pet it should really be kept in a species only tank and a tank that is much larger than the one Captain Picards was(or should I say will be as it is set in the future?) kept in.

  • Oh, don't you love lionfish? Just corner the little bastards and give em' a nice scratch behind the..fuck do you pet it?

  • Dayyumm.

  • if its true then that's beast but I'm not convinced (not that you're obliged to convince me) i don't have much faith in people over the internet who don't have a shred of proof :P btw how did you find out!? did you tough one without knowing?

hmmm just typed in 'immune to lionfish' and 'human immune to lionfish' etc... and the only result to do with people being immune was a link to this page...

  • if that's true it's cool but i don't have strong faith in people over the internet with out any proof at all. still if it is true good for you.

btw how on earth did you find it out?! did you tough one without knowing?

  • what fish r u feeding it????

  • I love the Russell's Lionfish! The white and black is so pretty!!!

  • We feed ours minnows too, sometimes he misses them and then hits his face on the bottom of the tank.

  • I did that with another person before... it was intense, he got sooooo pissed

  • Wow that is a bad ass fish! Maybe I will set up a refugium with one in there...

  • What a beautiful fish

  • you need a camara with a higher framerate xD

  • I am immune to lionfish. 100% serious. I have touched wild lionfish on spines. I have even tested this on one in aquarium.

I seem to have an immunity to their venom.

If any scientists wish to study my blood or get a sample let me know, maybe I have something in DNA? Message me. I would like to create counteractive meds for their poison.

  • @agenthelios1 sry mate but lion fish arent deadly venomous there sting simply hurts like hell its as if you were immune to wasp sting. but the fact that you are immune to lion fish venom is cool when you can bet with people ; )

  • @agenthelios1 I call bullshit

  • @MaxJNorman No bullshit. I had video posted on my channel, but you tube messaged and said it was "inapropriate" I guess because they felt that others would think they can touch them, then get hurt. I posted the video twice and it was removed twice by YouTube(and community )

    They almost deleted my account.

  • @agenthelios1 Any luck?

  • @MsHenryTheGreat No luck. Maye people think its a joke. I even posted a video on my channel of me touching a lionfish with my barehands and people kept saying it was a fake fish and all these ridiculous allegations because they knew damn well it was real. I even had video of that same fish eating another tank mate, so how can a "fake fish" eat another one?

I since removed video because I was annoyed.

  • THEM FISH EATS ANYTHING THAT MOVES

  • i wish i could put 1 in my 300 gal tank but it eats meat :^(

  • The exotic aquarium store down the street has a few of these... They're so beautiful.

  • i know a guy who got stung by one and it gave him lock jaw

  • zomg light speed !

  • DONT U JUST WANNA TOUCH IT

  • @PGContributor HELL NO! lol

  • @PGContributor two of my buddies actually touched one when they were drunk and they said it numbed their arm! lol

  • @Mrfosho09 it does alot more then jus num ur arm

  • meal= guppie

  • disappear

  • Dude that shit disappeared..

  • hey its lola

  • They are eating them in Jamaica and other Caribbean islands. No problem mon.

  • poisonous fish!

  • aww

  • Damn! my lionfish is white too huh!

  • ccol fish

  • how big tank do i need for a lion fish im thinking of a 30 gallon, will any kind of lion fish live in a 30 gallon or is it to small

  • @killerline012 Lionfish do best in larger tanks such as 70+ gallons but you can keep certain kinds of lion fish such as dwarfs including the infamous fu-man-chu lion in 30+ gallons. You can keep a lion like the one in the video in a 55 gallon as long as you have a very good filtration system.

  • mmmmm this fish is so beautiyful that i

    should molest it :D

  • @superchode20164

It can paralyze you, ya know >_>

  • i used to have 2 goldfish but they made our tank really dirty so we let them go in a pond

  • o mio dio l'ha ingoiato in un colpo! °_°

  • i once saw it in a aquarium for sale...

    but it whas REAEAEALY lazy

  • can a lion fish kill you? if touched

  • No its sting is about on par with a bee sting.

  • Nice Lion fish!

  • I had a dragonfish that ate all my tigers. But when he tried to eat my beta fish, he got a big suprise. But then we had to move, so we put the fishies into a river. D:

  • @Computergeew Don't do that again. If you must get rid of pet fish, either give them to a pet store or kill them.

Depending on the fish, releasing aquarium fish into habitats that aren't their native places would either kill them or create an invasive species problem. Not to mention, there are federal laws against stuff like this and you could be fined heavily if caught.

  • I know that. I didnt ment a natural river, is somthing for the neiborhood. In my neiborhood, there is these stone "Rivers" flowing on our backyard. At the end of it is a pond, with multiple fishes in it. The fishes were from alot of us back here. Also its been used for fishes that is not wanted anymore, or donation. Other kids can buy from that pond. Volunteers clean, and care for the fishes every day. I dont even live next to a state with a river! I just donate fishes when i dont want them.

  • @agentgreen004 and yet i saw one in a pet store once... wierd huh?

  • can i plz have a answer soon because i'm getting fish at the weekend

  • @MrTomster93 30 gallons is very small for most marine fish, let alone lion fish.

  • what kind of lion fish could fit in a 30 gallon, 130 litre tank?

  • i have one he killed my trigger and my puffer!

now all whats left in my tank is a ell and a rock fish and lizzy (my lion fish)

  • you watched a video of a lionfish eating and when it ate a fish you claimed you didnt see it coming?

  • I have 2 responses

#1 I know something else that's too quick to see when it's coming *ahem* lol

#2 Blind people... think of blind people lol

  • that was quick didnt even see it coming

  • god, hes lovly what u call him, im getting marine soon and im hoping to get dwarf lionfish anytips?...

    butt,

    there very diedly.

  • lionfish are canibals!

  • Here we go again...

  • Are you able to keep more than 1 lionfish together or will they kill eachother

  • these look very expensive but they are only $60 i saw like 5

but u need salt water thats the ahrd part about it

  • i know of a place, were u could get it for less,.. and its way better to yup yup... its on the exit of freeway 91 and long beach blv,.. its only 35$... yup yup, and they have dwarf lionfish to.

  • how are they dangerous?

  • They are venomous

  • Comment removed

  • @Crosisborg are they venumous?

  • @psybera1987 Yeah extremly.

  • @Crosisborg hello Captain obvious.

  • extremely dangerous rofl like my dad had a few of these and got attacked once his arm blew up like a hot dog on grill for to long lol and had to go to hospital dangerous.

  • Lion fish vs Mantis shrimp.

    Who wins?

  • Thats a nice fight. lol. but I would NEVER try it! lol

  • i would say lion fish because the r extremely venomous

  • Getting stung by one is basically like getting stung by a bee.

It's no big deal, I hand feed my lionfish all the time.

  • i mean towards other fish...when u get stung by a bee it doesnt hurt because u are so much bigger than it imagine being the same size or smaller. samething for lion fish

  • how many gallons do i need for a lionfish?

  • general rule is 10gallons per 1inch of fish

  • About four hours ago, i got a black lionfish called Kilky but it is acting really wierdly, floating about and not doing anything. is there something wrong or is it just getting used to it's new surroundings?

  • how long did you acclimate him for and what method did you use to do so? you should probably use drip acclimation with lionfish!

  • he's fine now!

    he had a swimbladder problem!

  • good to know swimbladder isnt that common in lionfish though because they are very hardy little critters do you have a video of him?

  • lionfish are kind of like bettas, they do not do anything. And part of the reason could be its new surroundings.

  • Sorry i forgot to add that you cant keep a voltian lion fish like this one in a tank less than 75 gallons. So Dwarf lionfish are a much better option and are very hardy but they only grow to about 7 inches. please comment if you wish but if you want to ask a question post a reply so i know you have commented.

    cheers

  • Dwarf Lionfish can be kept on their own in 22gallon tanks but if you wish to keep them with larger speicies then it has to be a 30 gallon or more. If you want to keep one in a 2o or 22 gallon then find one or two fish that are about the same size as it so no fighting or eating goes on. Make sure if you want to purchase a lionfish that you are ready to feed it live SALTWATER feeder fish(freshwater feeder fish can be harmful to their liver) it may take them two months to take dead meat.

  • well, at least it doesnt make the other fishy suffer like the parannas, they just fucking tear there prey apart and then leave for a bit, while the food is still half alive trying in vain to escape...

  • how did u get that lionfish? and how do u clean the tank? dont u have 2 take it out? and how are u gonna do that without dying

  • looks like u feed it a female guppy

  • i have kept tropical freshwater fish in the past and i wanna keep a lion fish in my 30 gal. tank but i dunno how to get the salt water??

  • I'm no fish expert, but I would suggest more than 30 gallons.

  • dam, tahts a beautiful looking lion fish. what kind of species is taht? please tell me! im dying to know. i am getting a lionfish, but i want one of those white and black ones, what species is taht? also where can u buy those kind? walmart or petco????

  • you are an idiot if you buy saltwater fish from walmart or petco. buy it from a fish store that specializes in saltwater fish.

  • wut fish store? there are none around me! i live in chino hills, about 2 hours from l.a. wut is the name of these fish stores???

  • i love scorpion fishes they intrest me there awsome

  • thats a lion fish not a scorpion fish

  • they're basically the same thing. Just different names.

  • umm lol no theyre not. scorpion fish and lion fish are both deadly to humans but scorpion fishes look nothing like lion fishes. for 1 scorpion fishes are alot more pointier and they dont have long fins like lion fishes do, and have more solid colors to their bodies opposed to lion fishes.

  • well we're both right and wrong. There are different species, but some people call lionfish

scorpion fish, ( turkey fish too for some people).

  • how are we both right and wrong? and dont try to sound smart by giving me that lil "turkey fish" crap. dude seriously go look at a picture of a scorpion fish and a lion fish and tell me if the 1 u see in the video is a lion fish. for 1 ur completely wrong, and i dont see how i am wrong. i've owned several of these and have done my research. i suggest u do the same

  • Actually, the term "scorpionfish" applies to any member of the family Scorpaenidae, which includes the lion fish. So you *are* both right. StupidGhuji you just have the added distinction of being a idiot troll, too.

  • actually that may be true that they belong to 1 family, but it doesnt prove the fact that a lion fish and a scorpion fish are 2 different fishes. like there are various different types of mammals that belong to 1 family but have a different look/name/nature. as for that little bit "added distinction of being a idiot troll"... for 1 its being AN idiot troll and ur a retard who needs to get his facts straight and learn proper grammar before talking. nice try buddy

  • "Actually, that may be true that they belong to one family, but it doesn't prove the fact that a lion fish and a scorpion fish are two different types fish. • I have taken the liberty of correcting your grammar. The fact that it needed correcting makes you a pathetic hypocrite, as well as being AN idiot troll.

By the by, you said, "it doesn't prove the fact that a lion fish and a scorpion fish are 2 different fishes". I'm glad that you have accepted that I am right and you are wrong. Kudos!

  • wow you really are stupid aren't you? you really need to go back to school and relearn English. and how am i a pathetic hypocrite? what did i say that makes you think i'm a hypocrite? and speaking of grammar wouldn't the proper way of saying "an idiot troll" be "an IDIOTIC troll"? please do some thorough research on both proper grammar, AND on fishes/fish families. k thanks

  • Man alive!! It's so quick! I'd sure hate to be a little fish!

  • damn it attacks fast.

  • ive always wanted a lion fish

  • i have my own lion fish and i put some of my lil fish in there and the lion fish ate soooooooooooo quick

  • there poisinos.

  • kool that was quick

  • thats is an awsome, awsome lionfish

  • Best lion fish feeding I've witnessed so far. Nice work, 5 stars.

  • that was a guppy he ate

  • Very nice! What was that, a goldfish, guppy, molly or something else?

  • It is actually a small fish.
