  • this dosnt suit him in anyway .... if he would sing it with his normal voice !

  • Though accostumed to Planxty's, this really istituto charming. Thank you Bob.

  • terrible version - sorry bob

  • Absolute butchery of a great song.

  • good guitar playing on this album to

  • this is dylans 80s voice good song n album

  • dylan always sounds cartmanlike. so be rude if u like

  • @suloimitate

This is one of my favourite albums and you've totally ruined it for me so I'd love to be rude but... you're right :-D

  • Was he kidding?

  • well, to each their own I guess.....

  • both brady and dylans version are great

  • It's different and ok but he fluff's the lyrics on a couple of occasions. The most important thing is that a song like this has to be sung by an Irishman. So many of them were used as cannon fodder in the Napoleonic War, that's what the piece is about. 67% of Wellington's army was Irish. 80% of the deaths were Irish!

Would you expect a white man to sing JOSHUA FIT DE BATTLE OF JERICO?.

Or an English man to sing the Republican Soldiers Song ? I'm sorry Bob it just don't work, but nice try.

  • @RICKYRASPER Where do you think Wellington came from?

  • dylan is singing it.....enough!!!!!

  • Is Dylan doing the Eric Cartman version or the Paul Brady one???

  • Now then, I'm a Dylan fan with the best of 'em, but on this one.......nah....

Sounds like he's just been hit over the head by a trusty shillelagh.

  • @InParticularNobody Now then, I guess you're not really a Dylan fan, after all.

  • @Amysupport Am a fan most definitely. Not a Disciple though.

  • It's Brady from the 1976 album alongside Andy Irvine for me. No question

  • is someone holding his nose? not as good as paul bradys version

  • Love this version!

  • Eamon, the version on the classic Andy Irvine and Paul Brady album is sung by Paul not by Andy and is the definitive version for many people.

  • @EamonLoingsigh if we're comparing voices, Andy Irvine wins hands down. Paul Brady?? there's a reason he doesn't sing on the planxty albums. Dylan's version kicks ass.

  • Dylan's version kicks ass. Full of strength and soul.
