  • Simple minds isnt simple minds without Derek

  • May I recommend the book 'A Concise Guide To Eighties Music' by Karl Vorderman. The author is a big fan of this track.

  • It doesn't get much better than this...

  • i said "belle"

  • canny tell you all how much i love this tune, it got me through a six months stint at faslane, what a shithole!!! lol

  • Luv the bass~hella awesome song!

  • i just love it that you played an lp and not a cd cheers mate ace from dordrecht holland

  • beautiful song and picture

  • @MIchlas nice thoughts, and true too

  • All the instruments are beautifully played on the album "New Gold Dream" - the production was perfect. Pete walsh did a very good job with them. I always thought they should have gone to Trevor Horn with the next album "Sparkle in the rain" - he would have made that sound much more alluring and mysterious and it would have been a very natural progression from "New Gold Dream" - sigh. We can only dream.

  • @hairycub69 Trevor Horn for Sparkle!

That would have been reall, really interesting. Love SM and a big fan of TH.

  • There are so much favs but this has to be one of my top ten songs ever.Best abum ever is New Gold Dream.

  • We, men should not fight over our women, just accept our woman gets older, as we do, and she will always look good to us.

  • I really like this song, one of my favs along with Hunter and the Hunted.. and the album NewGoldDream IMHO is their best...

  • Love the vinyl sound at the start and finish!!

  • HELL TO THE YES

  • Truly, one of the best of the 80s!!

  • @MIchlas what was the point in mentioning your age

  • tanks fot dis beutifel song

  • I love this song too. what a great album, I was born too late. I got to hear this wonderful album in 1992 when I was 15. Ten years too late. I'm 32 now and I still love it. Thanks for putting it on you tube

  • I agree, Im 32 also. I was mad about them and collected all the vinyl!!

  • brilliant album went downhill after im 45 didnt have the early albums but love love song and i travel

  • man

    agree 10.000 %

  • I think simple minds are in a different league creatively than U2 and some of the other so called dinosaur bands. The layered synth, guitars&bass were much more intricately crafted..esp on this album.I would say they were more similar to bands like Japan&Tears for Fears during this stage of their careers..Fabulous!

  • to 70719800: when this album came out this song was for sure one of my favourites

  • When this album came it wasnt this song you listened to the most, but today as a super SM fan this just grows and its like finding a hidden treasure, if somebody made it today it would probably be a major hit love it !!!

  • in this time they made the best albums...

  • this song is sOOOooooo....... good. melt

  • agree bluenile 35; used to punish car stereo in 80`s with this one .........lol

great listening on here with headphones on ignoring the kids haahahahaha

  • One of the best driving songs ever. Sounds great with the windows down on a sunny day played through a decent system so you can feel the awesome bassline.

  • my all time fave minds track timeless tune....so many memories...aaahhhh

  • I really like this one too. I wish I could find a video.

  • lets face it, simple minds are an underrated band, and copy cats like u2 are so overrated.

  • This album is pure essence..This tune is everything electro cross rock should be..pure acid in a music form...

  • Underated album and bass playing Forbes is a monster player, the production on this album is just awesome

Best album ever made........... end of!

  • Oh and I forgot to mention the beat. Good God... I'm tapping my feet stupid here!

  • Everything that U2FAN1992 said and more, this is just as shit hot as it was the day I bought the LP the day it was released, wore the bugger out and had to buy another copy 2 months later.

  • Arguably the best Simple Minds song ever made. The bass. The synths...everything about this song is fucking brilliant!

  • maby this is their best song

  • Music like this never sounds out of date.

  • Although they had missed their first drummer when they recorded this track... The best of New Gold Dream album.

  • WTF!! Winx:S

  • My Favourite !Thanks for posting !

  • The bass line was inspirational in my learning the play bass. I have fond memories accompanying 'The Minds' on this track. They produced fantastic albums and were even better live. From a massive Simple Minds fan.

  • great toe tapping stuff!

  • album tracks dont come better. suprised i could comment. i cant stop moving to the bass. yee haa

  • You're not alone.Welcome to the fan club! Loads more great stuff on here...

  • God I feel a teenager again ... PURE QUALITY !

  • croke park 1986,,,,,i still remember,,,

  • put this to the sound track of your life

  • Tip: Kajagoogoo has a great bass player in Nick Beggs...

Simple Minds is a tad better though. ;-)

  • Also my favourite S.M. song, one of the best album tracks ever. Kind of Led Zeppelin transposed to another genre. Quite mesmerising.

In retrospect, Simple Minds was partly about great bass. (So was Level 42.)

  • This has a very Japan/Roxy Music flavor to it...

  • Simple Minds at their best!!j was 14 and new gold dream was really the New gold dream!!..anyway probably simple minds are a little bit underestimated ..especially cause they're a great live band ...also today!!ps j apologize 4 my english!!Cheers from italy

  • great track cant wait 4 the upcoming gigs

  • the big dream sound at its best my personal fave takes me back to 14 yr old teens...cool tune timeless

  • anyone got a clip of this LIVE?

  • I love this song, don't have a live clip to this but have heard the live versions... have to say, the live version is just not as good...

Still is a must hear for any fan, bought an old live concert from New Jersey at e-bay.

  • Hypnotic and brilliant

  • I love this song!

  • it's a really cool track with a good groove.
