This was Spooky's first appearance- later, he gained a derby hat and a "Brooklyn" accent/attitude (as provided by Jack Mercer), appearing in several more Casper cartoons in the late '50s...his popuarity was such that Harvey Publications gave him his own comic book and feature stories in the '60s (originally drawn by Howard Post).
