  • How I LOVE this song. So moving.

This version is the only I'd heard for years.

It beautiful and JB's version is incredibly sad.

  • me too

  • Jackson Browne's (the writer) version is the best.

  • @cyberties I agree. Still, this is a pretty good effort.

  • @Saskatchewan00 Yes, this is a good effort. I think my second favorite version is Gregg Allman's from his Laid Back album. That version was one of the big reasons I began searching out Jackson Browne's albums. I noticed he wrote this one and some other tunes that I thought had evocative lyrics and melodies, like Doctor My Eyes.

  • @cyberties I must say, I'm not overly familiar with Gregg Allman's version - I'm listening to it now. It sounds good so far! And let's not forget Nico's version - the picking pattern on that is fantastic.

  • The first song I heard from Ian as a solo artist ( on a compilation album - with, I think butterflies on the cover?..). I haven't heard it in such a long time. Thanks for posting - wonderful song!

  • kinda reminds yu of 'wildfire' by michael martin murphy.gud stuff.

  • This version is the business! I have it on a compilation Lp called "The One That Got Away" which I must have had since the mid 70s, ie songs that didn't do as well as they should have done by various artists.

  • Great album and great version! Thanks for uploading!
