Saw Bob open for Kiss in South Bend In, the people there boo him, He said that he would never play South Bend again. As far as I know he never has. I dont blame him!
As we get older, we lose a certain "drive" and "passion". Bob lost his 20 years ago. He'd rather be sailing his boat an being a good family man(and I don't blame him) reminds me of Chuck Berry. Doesn't realize/care just how much he means to a lot of us.I waited 18 YEARS for his last album.I was so stoked that "the MAN" was FINALLY releasing some new tracks! The ONLY cool tune on it was the duet w Kid rock( written by someone else!)You "bailed" on us 20 years ago Bob! Fair winds!!!
Saw him last night in ATL. Absolutely great. Love so many bands, but none quite provide that soundtrack for life like Bob Seger. I saw him only one other time on the Against the Wind tour in 1980. The one thing I remember about that show was the lack of audience involvement. The 1980 show was incredible, but the audience was just dead. Not so last night. It was so, so great to see the audience's love for Bob last night.
from 4:40 on is the best changeover of songs ever. I used to wait for that part of the song just to here that seamless change to Beautiful Loser. So catchy to hear that. Love it!
@forestroot , the guy is a rock legend, some of the best concerts that I have ever been to were headline by Bob Seger, in the 70's when I was 15 or so , I saw him at a show that started with a litlle known band named poco, then ac/dc then foreigner and maybe one more band before seger came on they were shows that started at noon or so and went on until mnidnight, they dont even do that kind of stuff anymore, all of the seger shows I went ( there were 3) were all outside
@forestroot there were record crowds and the music was amazing, I'm sorry you dont like him, but even if you dont, why be so negative, why waste your time writting something bad or derogatory, why not just go to music you like and write something positive
Great Video. Seen Bob at the Tanz House in Traverse City MI in early 70's and then at the Glacier Dome in Traverse City MI in 1975. He sold out the 4100 seat roller skating rink in a few hours. 2 days earler he sold out the Pontiac Silverdome. The TC show was much better.
Fantastic performance of my favourite song by Bob Seger, what a great rock voice! I have the live album on vinyl, nice to be able to hear the song again since I can't play my vinyl records again -yet!
I saw Seger in Detroit back in 83.. When he played Turn The Page the hometown audience was so into singing that song that Bob stopped singing, the band kept playing and he let the audience finish the rest of the song. It was one of the many amazing moments that night. When you go to a Seger show you feel like youre part of the act. You don't just listen to the Bobs musichis music lives within you always. Thank You Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. You are the best

Having grown up near Detroit in the 60's and 70's And Seeing Detroit's BEST Rockers.(Segar,Grand Funk, and Ted Nugent. I'd say it was the best childhood a kid coult ask for.
Bob is such an amazing musician singer, my older sister used to play his records all the time as I grew up and love his music. I would love to see him live at Bayfest in Sarnia....and get my sister to go. She would love to go also. Bob and The Silver Bullet Band music is the best anytime!
Saw him thrice in Detroit during the tour, including where it all really took off for him with Live Bullet... At COBO ARENA! Seriously, this video is giving me a little mist in my eyes and and goose bumps. You can't say enough about this LEGEND and all around GOOD man.
I am still in awe every time I hear this transition. I can't imagine how life was like before I had ever heard the Silver Bullet Band magically turn Travelin' Man into Beautiful Loser.
fucking baffles me about all the comments on how old he looks...hes in his 60s?how would u look?...hes still a musical d=god...grey hair and all...and im comfortable in the fact that he didnt do this for the money...he did it for the fans and himself...like he still had something to prove...and he proved it if there was ever a doubt...Bob is a fucking legend
Mid '70's, right? I was there in Tennessee eagerly awaiting Kiss - and walked out a couple hours later telling my friends about the warm up act - Bob Seger. Thank god for Live Bullet to remind me what R&R is all about.
I was at Opening Night show in G.R. on 8 Nov. and even after having seen Bob half dozen times before through the years, this one was really special. Like spending the evening with an old friend that you've known and grew up with and lived life with for the past 35 years. It was awesome to see him again, perhaps the most selfless and underated rock star ever. He's been with me through good times and helped me through the bad. He did the last tour not for himself, but for his FANS. God Bless him!
thers only one bob seger, a man who speaks to us all thru his songs and songwriting...a man who has lived a common simple mans life...yes i saw him in his hay day 77,78, and 80...he was the best then ....he is the best now... his songs still bring a tear to my eyes..... i think that the reason being that he's singing my life.....we love ya bob!
It is very hard to say what song of Bob Segers is the best as they ALL are outstanding and at the top, but I think this has to be at the very top of his work.
Awsome show , BOB IS THE KING . its amazing how music can take you back 25+ yrs . Riding around with my Dad on the back roads of northern michigan listening to this on 8 track .. best show I have ever seen . keep it coming Bob thanx
I grew up in very rural northern Ohio and always felt a close kinship with the songs of Seger and John Mellencamp. Springsteen and BonJovi may have spoke to rebellious east coast teens, but only Serger and Mellencamp struck a chord w/ kids that grew up on farms in the Midwest. I had the chance to see bob with Georgia Satellites in 1988, and I can still hear that concert if I close my eyes while I watch this video.
the good guy who is beautiful in the sense of character, he was raised right and can't mesh with the not so good people, so he travels on, he moves on from place to place. Beautiful loser is the person who feels the need to have it all in life, everything because he is of great personality and character but you can't have it all, so stop trying. That is the definition of this song.
i thought it was a respectful nod to the types in the world who arent compelled to have to step on others to be content.. who dont have to ass others out to find self worth. they can gracefully let others have get the spotlight as to share in the joy of the other person's success.

'He's reaching for the sky just to surrender' -- you know, people who set their goals so low that they'll never be disappointed.

Part-1 is a bold proclamation of personal freedom. Part-2 is a wistful picture of a dear friend who was never able to acheive that level of freedom. It's all about the conflict between the natural desire to have roots (i.e. home, family, knowing where you're going to sleep tonight) and having your freedom to roam (i.e. 'but sooner or later, i'm going').
Thanks for the memory...I was there that night!! I've seen him soo many times, and willing to travel to see him I have gone as far as DC for a concert...So worth it!! Best part of the evening these were tickets my 22 year old son bought me for Christmas, and we went together and had a wonderful night stayed at the Amway...Amazing!!!
I was in the eighth row back from stage. Everyone was chanting UNCLE BOB! UNCLE BOB! He sounds just as good live as he does recorded. Good job with the video!
Bob has gotten better with age. He is a super star in my mind. Humble beginnings. Going out in style. Bless his heart. He has worked so very hard all his life. He is a winner.
