Victor Friedman is an Anti-Hellenic POS. Aside from constantly obfuscateing FYROM nationalists used to self-identify as Bulgarians, as side from hiding the US government itself used to claimn their was no such thing as an ethnic Macedonians, he lost the last shred of moral credibility when he started to pretending not to notice FYROM's change into "ancient Macedonians". Actually Greek has b een spoken in an UNBROKEN chain leading all the way back to antiquity. Our language is clearly derived from Koine Greek... the language of ancient macedonians. This is quite unlike your Bulgarian dialect the communists renamed Macedonian in 20th century (which victor glosses over). The roots of your language started over a 1000 years AFTER alexander.

It's true. Yugoslav communists oppressed their Bulgarian ethnic roots (as Tito feared Bulgarian influence and used it to threaten Macedonia Greece). Now if you can only convince the Bulgarian government to start calling them FYROM so we can end this nightmare for all of us. Macedonia for Greeks. Paeonia for Bulgarians.

Macedonians are ancient folk.Slavs came to Macedonia,but they were assimilated by the ancient Macedonians..after that Macedonians made firs alphabet "Glagolitic",later it was modified to "Cyrillic" alphabet AND ALL THAT WAS MADE BY THE MACEDONIANS. Later our neighbors copy us and took many parts of our culture and say it was slavic. But it is all OURS!
