in fact i read a book this song from XV. century, im not sure. but many turkish music sites writing "oldies turkish song". form u know "sharqi". katibim=Uskudar'a giderken. Uskudar is a oldiest muslem region of Istanbul.

Mulla Uthman Al Mosuli was very known in Turkey, and stil now by the name of Musullu Hafiz Sasi Osman Efendi..

and stil very known for as A Turkish Master he worked with Icons like Tanburi Cemil Bey, i think he compused it istanbul in 1800s, and the song was very popular and spread the melody to the arab world too.
