  • hahab holy shit

  • yes I once punched through my bedroom wall and into the hallway.

  • That's what you get when your house is made of cardboard instead of solid concrete.

    Silly americans...

  • I thought this was an episode about house hunting...

Badump-bump (ow, ouch, stop hitting me, it was funny :)

  • 0:00

  • 0.00

  • So. I would LOOOOOOVE to see this in an episode. Or at least see the tapes. lol.

  • no joke my friend used to live in that house

  • americans should get proper houses build out of proper concrete/bricks.....

  • @Seppel007 right, because cannon balls are such a relevant threat these days......

  • wonder if this will end up as brilliant advertising?

  • I would keep the cannon ball and get it autographed.

  • That's sick ;)

  • Is Mythbusters busted? Doesn't look good for one of America's favorite shows. They need to go on the tonight show with Jay Lenno. Maybe Jay will help them out and make a formal apology and compensation.

  • 10 minutes. 10 WHOLE MINUTES, are you feeling lucky tonight?

  • Cannonball RAMPAGE!

  • It miraculously missed all of those cars as it traveled across the road? Really? you mean when it flew out of a 2nd story house and landed on a roof? That's amazing that it didn't drop 15ft from the first house, hit a car, and then fly up to at least 20ft where it hit that roof!

  • "Well, there's your lawsuit."

  • I used to bust myths, but then I took a canonball to the knee.

  • @SuperRegisteredUser You mean a cannonball took your knee.

  • @matt92hun Your parents must be proud of you, correcting people's spelling on youtube.

  • @SuperRegisteredUser I think he was commenting about how the cannonball would take your knee rather than the other way around. It was more about the factual error than your spelling. By the way, the Y and T in YouTube are meant to be capitalised ;)

  • @SuperRegisteredUser It wasn't a correction. I got the reference, but a cannonball would take your knee with itself.

  • @matt92hun Yeah, I see it now :D

  • What episode?

  • I guess you could say they...

    *Puts on sunglasses*

    ... were having a ball.

    YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAH!!!

  • Sell the ball on ebay!

  • @PyroGuideToHappiness the police took the ball as evidence : (

  • I live in Dublin and no one was mad that people could have gotten hurt, we were just mad we missed it

  • "WELL THERES YOUR PROBLEM"

  • Comment removed

  • Cannon ball escaped - it wanted to be free! But not kill people, just smash things XD

  • those people are lucky to be alive also because they werent in iraq when it was bombarded by the US.

thats what i call being lucky.

  • Whatever the guys used for propulsion needs to be patented quickly and sold to NASA, DOD, and the Chinese. It is evidently some new found alien technolgoy to be used for destruction..

  • We loveMythbusters and they always take maximum precautions. Safety is very important to them. They would never do this on purpose or recklessly or negligently. Go Adam and Jamie! Go Carri, Grant and Tory! Can't wait to see this episode!

  • @beachmenow They've said it will never air :(

  • hilarious but CBS reporters are intolerable

  • house busted, lawsuit plausible, shit in house owner's pants confirmed

  • @clouddy123 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH XD

  • I dont want to be neighbors with Mythbusters!

  • that is a very diverse neighborhood

  • wow cannon balls are hardcore

  • Should change their names to "Doorbusters."

  • mythbusters can use 1 cannonball to fuck up an entire neighborhood, myth confirmed.

  • I used to be a Mythbuster but then I took a cannonball to the knee.

  • @Ibanezdude9321 ur also a 12 year old kid.

  • How could it 'bounce around like a pinball' in a gyprock house?.......' All the roof tiles were demolished'....?........ sounds like a myth to me..... i really hope this comes out as an episode!

  • They are the one that claim that HHO gas could not work, so Maynex H2-Flex was developed for them to shoot a hole in it ...but they couldn't!!!

  • Myth Confirmed!!

  • I would love to see Adam Savage walk up to the wall and say, 'well there's your problem'. I know thats an insensitive thing to say but no one was hurt and hindsight is a beautiful thing!

  • @lemon7777 Jamie is the one that says that.

  • The myth was how to fuck the suburbs.

  • i hope this is gonna get shown i the TV, i wuld like to hear adam savage's comment.

  • Comment removed

  • @simonlykke i dont think they will :(

  • the bit where they say it missed cars when the ball clearly was over 10ft of the ground

  • "miraculously" asshole tin-pot reporters

  • Comment removed

  • that must have been a powerful canon jeez

  • 10 MINUTES! OMG.

  • Why aren't those house made of stone bricks?

  • This is how the chinese media reported it.

    /watch?v=_l5G4DSckYo

skip to 0.20 in that video to see.

  • @rondj1965

I bet you watch it every day on discovery channel with a cup of tea in your couch with your badrobe :p

  • @spree2009 you've got me pegged

  • I reject your reality and substitute my own.

  • what a dinkey hole i thought it would be the size of a bowling ball

  • As said by others, this was a freak accident, these guys have been doing this for a lifetime. And i hope the show will remain on air

  • you could say this experiment was... "puts on sunglasses" BUSTED.

    YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHH!!

  • @BeatlesLOVER800 fellow cracked reader?

  • @ajmidget94 sorry, my bro uses my account. hes an ass, dont listen

  • I never really liked Mythbusters..with all it's immature, amateur, unscientific blabbery although I will admit it might provide some entertainment value for certain types of people. Yes.. I'm glad no one was hurt in this freak act of whatever you want to call it.

  • @SirtubalotTX

Geez, relax on the pretentiousness. No one likes someone who acts like that.

You don't like the show-- that's fine. It doesn't mean everyone who likes it is less than you.

And yes, this should have never happened, I don't think anyone will deny that. I just thought the spirit of your words was quite condescending and frankly, I think it just works against you.

  • @manictiger I have a very dry sense of humor and although there is some truth in my post, I was not being very serious so don't take it that way. I'll try to be a little more kind next time.

  • @SirtubalotTX

Ah, the old sarcasm through text issue. Nah, speak your mind. I just thought you meant it in a much more abrasive way.

  • @manictiger I think I've been watching too much House...

  • I'd be more concerned with how poorly constructed those McMansions are. Ya, when your house is made from paper mache, it's not really a surprise that a door, 3 walls and a roof can't stop an object from flying through it. Hate to see those places after a hail storm.

  • i wish it were my house so I could take advantage of the huge settlement the property owner will probably get lol

  • 1 person got there house hit with the cannonball

  • well i cant wait to see this episode

  • Hey! It's JD from the show!

  • This is probably the best thing that could happen to the people living there. They will get a VERY nice settlement.

  • 10 points for Gryffindor.

  • This myth comes to us from Angela in California who asks "Mythbusters is SOOooOO dumb LOL I bet they COuldnt Hit the bRoad SidE of a HOUSE with a caNNON BALL!"

    Challenge Accepted.

  • So.........did they measure the distance yet???

  • @ssnider17 700 yards dude, listen to the video.

  • WORLD WAR III!

  • i'm guessing whatever the myth was, it's confirmed lol

  • @pineappleisawesome1 That actully made me Laugh XD

  • @pineappleisawesome1 the myth was to see if they could make same or more damage using other stuff instead of a cannon ball , so they first wanted to tape the damage of the cannon ball on some water barrels but they missed the shoot... anyways this will be hard to beat so we can say this myth, is.... ¡FICTION!

  • That last guy has been seen on different interviews stating different amounts of time since he had gotten out of his minivan. I hope it has a GPS system that proves thathe got out an hour before and shows how much of a lying ass he is!

  • The shot heard around the world!

  • @shyhudson00 actually around dublin ca

  • So "busted?" "Plausible?" What was the outcome?!!!

  • Mythbusters fires first shot in modern Revlution

  • A METEOR LOLOLOLOL

  • first you make watch an ad, then when I finally get to watch the video, the sound is fucked. you fuckin arsewipes.

  • It's not like the Mythbusters are new to the world of safety. This was a crazy fluke -- they probably couldn't even repeat it if they tried. I'm glad no one was hurt. I hope the lawyers don't tear the show apart.

  • @miketwo345

I doubt the show will get pulled, but this could result in some really nasty legal B.S. Which could affect the quality of the show or possibly even the number of episodes available in the future.

I hope not, but my faith in California isn't really all that high.

  • @miketwo345 I like the Mythbusters, but I wouldn't say their safety procedures are particularly stringent or well thought out.

Safe experiments shouldn't really have many surprises but these guys are always surprised by unexpected power of explosions etc. If you're regularly surprised when doing dangerous stuff, eventually something will break!

All that said, it's still fun to watch them blow stuff up.

  • @OBMonkey

I think they usually do have a tight knit strategy for containing the experiment. They react like that because they're dealing with powerful explosions which only the most soul-less person could find unimpressive.

For example, that cement truck explosion and the rocket sled are the two most beautiful things they've ever done and I would have ditched whatever I was doing at the time if they had bleachers and were selling tickets.

  • @miketwo345 yeah, because real engineers make these kinds of mistakes all the time, right, guize? It's not like projectile motion is a well-studied branch of science or anything.

  • @SiressW

Heard of the butterfly effect? Basicly, having a very very very small difference in input data can render a drastic difference in modeled behavior. They fired the cannon 50 times without incident and this one just happend to be an outlier far beyond modeled prediction. Sometimes strange things happen, that's what experimentation is for.

  • 8 inch peep hole? I say 8 inch glory hole

  • Where is the video of the actual experiment? I want to see that.

  • JIMMY GET THE SHOT GUN, WE GOT US SUM GHOST ACTIVITY

  • heheheheeeee!

  • this better be in the new episodes

  • hooooly ;D

  • This myth is busted!!

  • these people act like its the end of the world that they have a few holes in their house....its easy to fix them. Be thankful that your alive....

  • @MrBubmaster You are a freaking idiot. They could've been killed you moron. It blasted through a house, bounced off a roof and smashed through a minivan. Perspective, jerk.

  • @Halgrim yea but houses in america isnt exacly the srurdiest of buildings

  • I'm guessing this one turns out surprisingly plausible!

  • best science show ever...

  • @Techno04335 Actually, Dublin is in the Bay Area in California. It is a heavy earthquake zone, and so brick and concrete is not a suitable material for houses. On the east coast of America in regions with very little or no large earthquakes, brick is a very popular building material.

  • That is one of the funniest science mishaps I have ever seen. It reminds me of something from a Road Runner cartoon.

  • Shit happens.

  • a meteor.........lmfao....

  • Are you serious CBS? You showed Ming Jiang's license plate AND home address... does anyone else find that ridiculous?

  • Jeez!

  • U americans sure have weak houses and walls.

  • @hyperon4 Take a cannonball to your house and see how weak it is! It's got nothing to do with Americans. If anything, we have the engineering and resources to make stronger houses.

  • @team256Andrew I was born in France. moved to america when I was 10. I also traveled to Germany, and various parts of africa.I can tell you American houses are strong but realistically compared to the rest of the world American built houses are not as strong. Most houses outside are made out of solid concrete or bricks which I am sure could take the concrete unlike the typical wood.

  • @Techno04335 Woah. A legitimate comment that not only provided a logical answer, but gave the reasoning behind it. And without an insult like most others! That was unexpected! I applaud you, sir. You have won the internet. Also, because of your newly won internet, you have won the debate. Good job! It's been a pleasure commenting with you. :)

  • @team256Andrew its the internet, insults are required.

  • @casey360360 I wouldn't say required, though they are common. I mean, come on, it IS the internet. Home of 4chan and Lemonparty. However, the occasional person who isn't a prepubescent 12 year old not calling me a "gay queer fag" is quite nice, I must say.

  • @team256Andrew haha ! I was only stating what I knew from experience! :-)

  • @team256Andrew Haha looks like i stired up some emotions there. By the looks of the video, The inside walls in that house where very thin. About 4 cm ( we use the metric system.) i guess 2 inches.

The outer wall was a little thicker. All i know is that the outside walls of my house is 10 inches solid concrete with reebar. spelling? and i dont know but i dont think the ball would keep going 2-3 blocks after going through that. Just my guess. Maybe time to call the MYTHBUSTERS!! =P

  • @hyperon4 10" solid concrete? Do you live in a PROJECT?

    Doesn't sound like a "house"

  • @hyperon4 U swedes sure have weak cannons and cannonballs.

  • @hyperon4 actually, a cast iron BALL traveling at extremely high speeds, who's original purpose was to go through wooden ships that modern bullets have a hard time going clean through, and often also meant to shoot through thick castle walls, would be no match for any building material other than, well, cast iron. moron.

  • the show has insurance. but the bomb range may be closed at least for now. and the show has stated tat they will pay for all repairs... if i were the homeowner i would offer to pay for the repairs myself... but id want the cannon ball!! put it on my fireplace mantel!!

  • well they can say their house's were shot with a cannon and!!! it was a mythbuster cannonball!!!! that would be epic... you know... exept for having an 8 inch hole in your house

  • why was this at night? thats what I want to know

  • @grizzlieplyr5221 The experiment wasn't conducted at night, that's just when the news people and the authorities got there.

  • @djsanluis Wow.. I feel stupid. Thanks. But then why were they all sleeping???

  • now onto the full scale experiment

  • Let's check the high-speed.

  • I used to give a fuck about this accident but then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • Hits about everything except a car... Bull shit.

  • holly crap!

  • Thats what I call a "Mythfire" Glad no-one was hurt though.

  • That cannonball broke every single thing it was near, even smashing a window before it comes to a rest lol. Hope they caught the whole thing on high speed camera >_>

  • Has the channel come out to claim the damage or just this one guy saying it was Mythbusters. I don't trust the news even on days they tell the truth. Was the Sheriff there at time of experiment. Why the fuck does news not get the word directly from those involved. If the Sheriff was told, put the fool that told him on camera or don't air the story.

  • @Anothercoilgun yea they came out and said they will take care of the damages. However, I heard that the homeowners want to cancel the show because of this. (or just close the bomb range).

  • I dont know if I should find this mortifying or be impressed by it.

  • The myth just like this house is busted

  • Hey There are all types of professionals in this world. i am considered to be a professional at what i do but even i find myself making mistakes. Cut them some slack. i am sure we have all watched the show and have seen that they always try to be careful. I mean they were doing the myth at the bomb range instead of the warehouse. No one was hurt and their insurance will cover the damages. If you really want to blame some one blame the home owners. the range was there before the houses were built

  • Do they have tv show insurance?

  • @OUSOONERSFTW ofcourse. before they go ahead with any episode..theyre covered.

  • We're what you call..."professionals".

    #Mythed it by THAT MUCH!

  • @tinsoldier8 They have been doing this sort of thing for 8 years and this is the first serious incident they have ever had so yes i would call them Proffesionals.

  • @tinsoldier8 They went 8 years without an accident, that's a pretty good record. They were bound to make a mistake eventually. And it wasn't Adam and Jamie doing the experiment.

  • Please remember folks: do not try this at home !

  • @1111veritas They weren't trying it at home they were at the bomb range following there own advice. LOL

  • @theshaddii I know they weren't at home Einstein! I was quoting what they always say at the intro of the show.

  • ...So was the myth confirmed or busted?

  • Super Happy Funball existence Myth? PLAUSIBLE!!

  • Lol explain this to a cop... Yeah Officer someone shot a fucking cannonball at my house.... cop hangs up.

  • Well anything can blast through american walls, just look at that cheap shit

  • I used to like Mythbusters, then I took a cannonball to the back of the knee.

  • @BODNERRRR skyrim is gay and so are your jokes

  • @BODNERRRR n1

  • hahahahahhaha fail

  • Cachinggggggggggg.. Did somebody say LAWSUITS PENDING??
