I think that the key is not with the collapsing of the wave function by observing but more about  Wave~form = Choice and Particle = No choice. We are solid (particle form) so what choice do we have? Only the illusion of choice. Did we choose to be here? I wonder..........

I'm with him until that point. We cannot be certain or say that it's utterly unlikely that we're in some sort of a simulation, because we cannot know it until we're out of it (and I'm assuming it's not easy to leave the simulation without leaving it permanently)

BUT how does that leave you with the words "certainly almost all of us are living in a simulation"? Isn't it more honest to say "I don't know"?

@ArthurKVerusan Yes, we dont really know for sure. It is a kind of assumption. But I suppose if you leave tyhe system you can come back to it, and draw that information down into the simulation, or maybe its the idea to leave the simulation and not be bound to it.,..

Since we cannot test or make observations of that assumption, this belongs in the realm of non-science aka metaphysics.

But that being wouldn't know unless told by one outside of his/her reality, the idea in itself goes on forever, and thus is impossible to proove, and no theory is considered correct unless prooven, therefor, that theory can not be true, or, atleast possibly not true.

I think he didn't thoroughly explain the experiment because of the time constraint in that University lecture.

THis is what i would call "consciousnessism"...it's stil idealism...probably it's latest variation...it is also reductionism, as it reduces physical reality to data interpretation--physics is merely "the rules of how our consciousness filter and perceive data of the physical world, and from which it derives meaning of the physical world"..... it is reductionistic however it is really fascinating...revolutionary...­.Thomas is a genius...
