I don't know about LGB. What I was thinking of doing was having the motor in Edward and have that linked to the batteries & RC circuit & arial in the tender.
I suppose it would be possible, because my models are RWS versions I would only have to get permission off of Mr. Awdry and not HIT entertainment because I think he holds all of the rights to the railway series.
Is that tender from a Lima 4F? It looks good anyway.
Edward and Thomas are both looking promising, and I do wonder if you have considered joining the "Permanent Way" forums ran by Sparkshot and Simierski? These would definatley attract alot of attention.
I was going to make an O Gauge Edward first, but looks like you beat me to it. Ah well, I'm sure yours'll turn out slightly better than mine. BTW, what materials did you use to make Edward and Thomas? I'd like to know because so far, the Materials I'm using are models pre-made and repainted.

If you can get your hands on the Lima 4F O scale model, it can be hacked into a reasonable good version of Donald or Douglas.

@hartleymartin It's possible, done it OO gauge

fine work, but I suggest a glossier paint which you can pick up at any model or craft store, itll give your model a sheen and metallic look.
Trainzvideo 2 years ago
I did think about glossy but I prefered matt paint, I think it looks a bit better

Would it work on lionel track?
TomixNscale89 2 years ago
No idea
JH55000 2 years ago
That depends if it's 2-rail or 3-rail. If it's 2, I doubt it will work on Lionel track

I don't think so, in the New collection story book you can see HiT's logo. :(

I've made everything, including the tender myself apart from the wheels.
JH55000 2 years ago
Ah, it looks RTR due to the quality of it. It's a stunning model so far. I was mistaken as it looks bang on for a fowler tender, as it should.
I'll be looking forward to seeing more :)
StanierJack 2 years ago
What does RTR mean?
Do you know where I could get some
4 - 4.2 cm diameter driving wheels?
JH55000 2 years ago
RTR means Ready To Run, as in brought made.
I'd suggest asking around on RMweb, they tend to have a lot of modellers in O gauge who would know.

nice, I wish I could try to make my own Thomas engine. I have Thomas, James & Diesel from Lionel trains
