  • unbelievable .....

  • brave photographers, thumbs up if you wouldn't stand there for a second

  • looks like some good wind surfing weather to me

  • the super long lens distorts the reality of the scene quite a bit, so you don't know what it was like there from this. It does make the guys in front of the waves footage amazing looking, but that largely because of the camera/lens.. I wish I was there!! Love bad weather!

  • Those waves would injure Superman !!!!!

  • Typhoon vamei hit Singapore in 2001

  • COWABUNGA DUDES, SURF'S FUCKIN UP!

  • the guy was so funny

  • WOw ! If this were to happen in singapore , I tell you ! Singapore would be gone !

  • Sure hope those guys have a fully-paid-up life insurance policy...

  • nice job !!!

    the end was funny ))

  • LoL they keep running from the waves......

How ironic would it have been if a streak of lighting just shot down XD.....

-.- This is almost as bad as tornado chasing o_o lol.....

What if a huge 2012 Day After Tomorrow wave

Washed up hidden behind the rain...

Curious.....would instinct tell you to run..or keep shooting XD???

I'd probably keep shooting LOL that's the artsist in me XD....

Like where would you go though?? The car >_>.....???

No point in running period if you're that close XD

  • OMG!!!!!

  • 2:39 is the Biggest

  • OMG>>>>>>>mother facker

  • that guy filming at like 2:30 is crazy, all it takes is one big wave and his ass is gone. i would be shitting my pants if i was there

  • yea I see what you mean, He was pretty close with some close calls too

  • Not even bodyboarders would try that stuff.

  • is that the strongest?

  • 2:39

    now that's big!

  • Enjoyed that James bravo. From the footage where you are taking the snaps on the beach it looks like the waved broke at around 25 ft...would that be right?

  • Holy shit

  • Please don"t take pictures when i piss !

  • According to my knowledge , it is unlawful

to watch typhoon in Taiwan ?

  • Beijing toady.

  • can you watch porn?

  • only to advise people to stop doing sth

  • James, pictures on your website are pretty cooL! keep it up!

  • now if only they would make a typhoon umbrella..?

  • Thanks for uploading James

Even though I live in Taiwan, I haven't seen these huge waves before!

  • That is some scary sh**! My heart sinks when I watch it. Just knowing the danger it holds. But yet they are like graceful and almost slow. just swallowing everything up! Its creepy!!

  • Hey is that True?????.....

    It`s cool!

  • Fking nice

  • I can destroy these monsters...

and want to make my discovering in practice...

  • Where were the huge water funnels?

  • Very very brave

  • As beauty as the hidden danger

  • That's why this planet should really be called "sea" cos most of it is!

  • Great stuff!!!

  • usually about 10 - 15ft high made of rebar and concrete, some with holes bored in, not sure about that particular wall though :) Wonder where rambocam was. Odd he didn't make it.

Was that you on the beach? that's... pretty.. brave hehe.

I got some ok vid from Yilan. It was wild.

  • That wasn't me on the beach, telephoto lens means I can watch the mayhem from a safe distance. Having a person in the shot gave it fantastic perspective though. Rambocam had commitments on at the time hence his absence.

  • That was amazing James! I thought the still images on your site were wild, this is beyond. Interested to know - that wall they are coming over, what is height, and did it flood from surges or just from bands coming across? What are the walls made out of, do you know by chance?

  • Those walls are tough as hell built to sustain the worst the Pacific can throw at them. It's doesn't get much more extreme than what Jangmi had to offer!

  • this is so incredible........

  • UNBELIEVABLE, James! Those are some of the most amazing waves I've ever seen!

  • nice day for surf! i did a video of this storm from my flat in taipei, click on my user name to see also :)

  • Great footage as usual James, The breakers had to be in excess of 100feet. I've seen my biggest waves in the western pacific. Back in 1991 on the south shore of Miyakojima when the center of supertyphoon Ruth was 350 miles to our SSE In the western pacific. You have a lot of areas where there are no islands to interfer with big surf in typhoon prone areas.

  • Cool James, JANGMI was really a strong system. I was working when the center passed just south of Taipei. But I managed to get some footages of the storm...

  • Grand video James .. and Jangmi was still far from the coast .. I do not want to imagine to the moment that impact Taiwan :o

  • Good stuff. and good home website too.

I like Weather Underground and its "wundermap" online.

  • Awesome, James!!!

  • That is incredible Great footage

  • That is the best wave footage I have ever seen in my entire life! The wave you show washing up onto the walkway in the harbor is incredibly huge for a wave inside of a protected harbor. Amazing stuff!!
