Both English and Japanese versions are very good. The latter is more soft and mysterious, which is what the composer envisioned. To those who think the Japanese version is weak, remember, they chose a singer to fit the tone. I'm not at all trying to discredit Lisa Desimone in any way because she does carry a powerful voice. But not all songs are about having the most force. Sometimes that 'intention' is lost during dubbing/translation. And in the end, it's also about personal taste.

This anime is sooo great, i can't believe the modern generation never refer to it when they compare animes. But hands down this one paved the road for greatness in animation.

Meanwhile, the lyrics for the Japanese song, while full of beautiful prose, are much more passive and "lethargic", even. Much talk is had of laying down under the stars, having eternal rest. It certainly lacks the energy of "traveling through the passages of time", at the "speed of light", and the "nights having no end", that the English version portrays.

i much prefer this increased energy, from the lyrics alone.

I have to say this is the superior version.

First, the singers themselves-- the English voice is much more powerful, while still retaining a "mystical" feeling. The Japanese voice is extremely passive, very sub servant sounding, even. The English version definitely fits Deedlit's character more IMO

Next, the lyrics- The English version mainly seems a love song written by Deedlit to Parn. it imparts on us her excitement and joy at being able to spend eternity with him.

to any1 that wana know the title of the opening for english US version is called Adesso e Fortuna and is perfomed by Lisa De Simone, the ending is called Fantasia of the Wind performed by her as well. saddly they didnt make complete versions of either song.

okamifox06 the singer of this and the english opening is called Lisa De Simone, look at credits at 1:09, the complete versions of these 2 songs was never released unfortunately. It wuld be awsome if they did it though, if they put these songs in a CD it wuld be the only CD i wuld spend money on (i never buy music).

I really wish there WAS an extended version of this song, but I don't think there is. I know the opening theme got an extensive English version (that wasn't done by Lisa DeSimone) on the soundtrack album, but I don't think this song got the same treatment.

Very true.. Don't know why so many people bash the English version so much. It also irritates me that most people (if not from Japan or didn't recently just catch this series) first saw this in English and never complained.. Only because of internet access were most people able to hear the original.

I loved the series in Japanese without subtitles, but once I got to the ending I always put the series back onto English to hear this ending theme. It surpasses the beauty and power of the original Japanese version which seems quite innocent compared to the great voice the English singer performed.

Same here! I love this version a lot more then the jap.. I mean don't get me wrong I love the jap as well bufor some reason the person who sings this version sounds a lot better with the background music. I also like the english opening as well.

yes, I agree with that English singing style is more gorgeous than Japanese version.

I think English version is more popular for world markets.But Japanese version lyrics is based on human natural sadness or loneliness, however surface word is sung about lovers.

and so, Japanese version is not fit for gorgeous chorus.

I agree, this is one of the few times where an English Anime song is actually better than the Japanese version. Kaze no Fantasia sounds more passionate compared to the quieter Japanese version.
