  • Great soundtrack. :)

  • wow, all around the world !

  • Thats not 16:9,it's 2:35.1

  • Thats not 16:9,it's 2:35.1

  • very nicely done man, great vid! I love my 100b

  • Outstanding video! Very well done. Beautiful music!! BRAVO!

  • u fail at rendering... u letterboxed it in a 4:3 vid.

  • i posted this before youtube went all widescreen

  • that's not rendering either sir. some decent work here cptmx. Have you done any narrative work?

  • @ortixx rendering!? Do you know what you are talking about? This was obviously shot at 4:3 and then cropped using a matte to make it 16:9

  • yes i do. Everytime you export a video, you render it. Youtube renders videos. You can call it conversion or whatever, but it is still rendering.

And yes, this was shot in 4:3 with a matte to make it 16:9, but the video was still rendered in 4:3 and NOT in 16:9. That's why it is not filling up the screen here.

I know what i am talking about since i am majoring in film...

  • you're both retarded, it was shot in 16:9 and given a 2:39:1 anamporphic crop, then rendered to 4:3 before youtube had widescreen feature.

  • No you ARE retarded. Re-read my comment. U letterboxed it in a 4:3 vid... aka rendered in 4:3 -__- who is the retard now?

  • rendered in 4:3 when youtube was still 4:3. then youtube upgraded to 16:9 while this video was already posted.

good luck in film school, kid.

  • i have been saying that all the time. You later commented that you submitted this before youtube was 16:9 so my bad.

    GL with ur stuff

  • @cptmx haha nice

  • @cptmx OH EXCUSE FUCKING ME that I didn't know when youtube changed to 16:9. I am humbly sorry that I fail to memorize the exact date of this event so i could cross refference it with your submission date. Jesus fucking christ.

  • @ortixx lol... Film School...

  • @ooganblat lol anal retard

  • @ortixx lol denial

  • @ooganblat denial of your retarded face that is. lrn2english dude.. wtf am i denying?

  • @ortixx Really? "Your face comments"? lame...

I love how people say they're experts because they went to film school.... It makes me laugh!

  • @ooganblat Yeah really. Your face. And why does it make you laugh? Because you realize you can't get a degree in 3D Visual Arts and Cinematography? Now go take your retarded failed ass somewhere else. Also.. you didn't reply to my last question. What am I denying? Guess someone needs to get a couple of things straight.

  • @ortixx I think I'm arguing with a down syndrome kid... You're slow aren't you? It's okay...

  • @ooganblat okay i give up. There is no point in arguing with a kid who says this while looking in the mirror.

  • This is very cool. Good stuff, I hope you go far in your career.

  • who does this beat? its tight.

  • a band called yppah

  • what shutter speed did you film the traffic timelapses?

  • it wasnt a slower shutter speed if thats what you mean. i shot it regularly and when i sped it up i added a motion blur

  • its something called school :P

  • what programe do you use to edit this video, and down anybody know where you can get it from ?

  • save up a grand and buy final cut pro

  • use any program you can afford.

i use vegas 8.0 and 9.0 and sometimes final cut

  • it really is great work man

  • thanks guys!

  • Nice!

  • where did you get that stock footage?

  • i didnt use stock footage. i filmed all of this

  • And that's what makes you so fricken awesome. :D

  • around the world in prague :)

  • ...and in the states, and spain

  • Very cool

  • kk thx :D

  • You have exactly what i have (XL2, Vegas) and have pretty much answered all my questions on time lapsing in this video and your comments, thanks :D

  • srry meant

*Through this video and through your comments

  • whoa nice work. what camera are you using?

  • canon xl2

  • whats the music/soundtrack! its awesome

and the video :) had a nice cool, laid back feel

  • Thanks!

the song is "What's the Matter?" and its by a band called "Yppah"

  • great footage had a nice feel to it, how do you slow down the footage? like the scene with the football players?

  • this isnt a 16:9 crop?

  • no. the original footage is in 16:9. then i cropped it so that the ratio was similar to anamorphic

  • did you shoot in time lapse or edit it in?

  • what do you mean?

some of the shots were done with my camera's time lapse feature. others, the camera was just rolling

  • what do you have the xl2 set to to get that time lapse.?

  • well i like to control the shutterspeed mannually, so i turned the knob to "tv" and when you hit the menu button and go under, i think its camera setup or record setting-something. and you'll see the time interval feature. i set it so that it takes a picture every 30 seconds and record length of .5 seconds.

  • Yea what settings did you use for the time lapse feature

  • some of those i just left the camera running, but if i use the interval time i always shoot every 30 sec for 0.5 seconds

  • (woops i'm on a different computer, but this is still cptmx)

  • at 1:04, what affect was used to make it flicker orange on the edges.....i have vegas too and i want to learn how....

  • that was a terrible remake of film flaring. but basically i used keyframes for the color levels. find the color levels effect and brightness and contrast and edit them. i boosted the red.

  • it can still be used as a subtle addition though, thats why I like it.

  • Looks great. I have a question though: to master color correction so well, did you just fuck around with the settings in Sony Vegas until you got a satisfying result or did you follow a tutorial or something? I'd really like to know how you got such a stunning cinematography.

  • yeah i just messed around.. its kinda fun actually. thanks!

  • the slow motion looks nice? what did u use?

  • to shoot i used a canon xl2, to edit i used vegas 6.0 (pc)

  • how did you crop it to 16:9 without distortion?

  • in post. i dont change the aspect, just like you said: i cropped it. (there is extra black on the top and bottom, cutting off a bit of the original footage). in order to make your footage look anamorphic, you have to know what you're doing before you start shooting..

all you really need to do is zoom out a bit so that you still get enough headroom when you crop it in your editor: i'll get back to you in a few minutes with a video explaining it

  • is that the standard lense?

  • in this video, yes. in the latest video i posted there were a couple of shots with the .3x wide

  • did you shoot in 60i ???? (because of the good looking slow motion) greetings Chris Vienna

  • yep, the slow motion was in 60i

  • Nice footage :)

The music really sounds like Gorilaz

  • the shots were fascinating.

and so was the music. who is it??

    <3

  • its by a band called "yppah" and the song is "What's the Matter?"

  • awesome. Your music taste is fabulous.

  • Love it

  • That skater is my favorite part of the video.

  • Did you stand in the middle of the road for some of those busy street scenes? That traffic looked intense. I like :)

  • it was in San Sebastian, theres a big circle drive in the middle of the city. I just stook on the circle drive

  • Can I ask, how did you do the lightning capture?

  • i was in new mexico, and the lightning was very visible that night, and it didnt strike the ground, it only ran accross the sky repetatively for several hours.

i just set up the camera and filmed out the hotel window

  • Did you just let it run or did you use time lapse?

  • i let it run

  • lol how many tapes have u spend on that

    cool stuff btw

  • oh.. not to many. alot of those shots were made alot easier thanks to my camera's timelapse feature.

    thanks for watching

  • awesome!

  • way awesome!

  • thats badass dude, haha i watched that football clip like 10 times

  • please. do our highlight video. that shot was incredible.

  • That was AMAZING.

  • i must ask what ur Custom Preset settings were and the music behind the video, this is GENIUS

  • on the camera its all normal settings, the color correction is what helped alot. the raw footage looks like crap compared to this.

i used sony vegas 6.0 for the color correction, however and its only for pc

  • oh and the music is called "what's the Matter?" by "yppah"

  • wow the cinematography was outstanding nice job

  • wow this is really awesome cinematography and editing!

  • that looks so sick jorge

  • way to go bro keep it up

  • dood it looks great man nice song tooo
