Amazing that Katie Couric replaced this man as anchor. Think about how Katie got her Today Show job - she replaced Deborah Norville, who went on maternity leave and found out while on leave that she had been supplanted by Katie Couric, largely due to her on-camera rapport with Gen. Schwarzkopf during the first Iraq war. Norville should have been replaced anyway, because she was beautiful but absolutely pathetic, sort of like Ann Curry (if Ann had no brain).

That was downright funny. Bob is quite a character. I don't know what party he is, but he has a strong delivery and very tactful and what he says. We will miss Walter Cronkite though very much as he was the frontman to set the bar for the news.

@micmac99 They simply do a better job of covering the day's events than the so-called "news" programs. Colbert uses a nice mix of irony and sarcasm, while Stewart takes a more straight-ahead approach and comments directly on the events as well as the people and organizations that cover them. A lot of people actually believe that Inside Edition and Extra are real news shows, by the way.
