  • guitar god

  • That was great! This song is exhausting to play at full length...

  • awesome! btw how is the action on that taylor?

  • Great video and great playing..

I've watched it a number of times already. I love that crazed look on your face, it suits the song so well but also makes you look like there's someone pointing a gun at your head and forcing you to play their favourite song... that happens to be "William Powell"...hehe.

  • Outstanting video. Convinced me! I am now done shopping around. The BT2 is the guitar for me. Leo is incredible...

  • Wow, great job. Watching you play that is as much fun as watching Kottke himself, it brings the possiblity of actual playing it myself into the realm of mere mortals.

  • incredibly difficult song, you're an amazing guitar player

  • The best Baby Taylor video I've yet seen.

I know what you mean 'whitebreadandgoatman' I put a nice ding in the face of mine with a file cabinet drawer upon returning from 'lunch' (aka The local music store!). Maybe that's a way the good ones 'brand' themselves to your 'ranch' as there's no turning back once you do this receipt or not! .......ha ha.. couldn't be happier.

  • well done! sounded perfect and the baby Taylor sounds fantastic!

  • I have no idea how this small guitar sounds so good.

  • may i know what string are you using? im using the light elixir but it doesnt sound as warm as yours. please answer me:)

  • @MrLildeedang Do u have the mahogany baby because its has a warmer sound than the spruce

  • I think I have thumb envy.....

Thanks for all the incredible videos! DD

  • A brilliant song and played perfectly, Kottke playing this in Adelaide Australia at a show with Joe Pass, Paco Pena and John Williams was my introduction to Leo when I was a teenager. Keep 'em coming!

  • geez louise that was fantastic and hypnotic as well ,your right thumb just waves through the songs passages....found ya while doing some research on the baby taylor

  • muy buena rola amigo

  • thats one of the best i herd

  • Nicely shot and brilliantly played. I've just started studying this one and can only hope that I nail it as well as you have. Thanks for putting it all together.

  • wow! gotta hate talent. lol

  • Great playing, but even more impressive is how your Baby Taylor is so in tune. I have a Mahagony BT and have dickens of time tuning it. I've had it adjusted but only minimal improvement.

Maybe it just depends on who's playing it ;)

  • mannn thats crazy. do u know how much that guitar is?

  • I've never heard a BT sing so nicely in somebody's hands like that.

  • This guy is epic.

  • I do think u r crazy lunatic and precision obsessed only reading these info but believe me Your performance is great man!! Relax and keep going playing and having fun ;) 10++++

  • unreal!!!! very cool!!

  • Fantastic! I tried teaching myself this one when MFF first came out (classic Kottke album imho), but you sir have nailed it. Keep on keeping on.

  • Best version on youtube, imo. Including the man himself. Thanks.

  • you are excellent. love that alvarez 12 string, what model is it?

  • @zgr9 its a baby taylor

  • @SychoRune srry im referencing the alvarez in his other vid, the 12 string

  • Very Nice and clean

  • wow

  • I did go down and picked up a Baby T. They'd sold the last mahogany one so I took a spruce one instead. For $290.00 plus tax CDN, I'll get a mahogany one also, but later! This guitar is amazing! Perfect size, huge tone, great action. I love this thing! It speaks better than several of my full sized dreadnoughts. I don't know what it is about these wee Mexican made beasties, but they have the same quality-feel as the big Taylors. I just might put a pickup in this thing & use it live.

  • You rock, very nice!

  • That's it! I'm sold! Great sound. Going to buy the mahogany one I looked at yesterday. Thanks for making my day!

  • @stratman01 wont regret it, got mine today

  • Very very nice! Excellent tone. Wow.

  • I was looking at the baby taylor, but not quite sure.

My wife heard you and now insists on buying me a baby taylor for my birthday :)

We both agree that your playing is beautiful. Anyway thanks for your playing and in around about way thanks for my birthday present.

  • what do you think of the mark hanson tab for this song. is this where you got your information?

  • nice! you really show how it's done.

  • A fun song to play and listen too, always! And yes, you might be a crazed lunatic!

  • Absolutely stupendous!!!

  • Great!

One of the VERY few Kottke covers where, with eyes closed, I would actually say that was Leo himself.

Great attn to the use of RH thumb to mute bass strings.

  • That was amazingly good.

  • Great job Steve......thanks for posting.

    Rgds,

    Joe Carpenter

  • Best cover of WP ever!

  • WOW!!! That was unbelievable!!! Incredible job!!!

  • Love the sound of a Mahogany Baby Taylor. Sounds even better with some Leo!

  • Your videos are gems! Thank you, with much appreciation and respect

    DD
