  • that is a 50 gallon tank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Gerrixxx989 Didn't you see the cigarette lighter taped to the front ? I've never seen a little 50G tank that's close to 6 feet long :D

  • Nice fish! Interesting you don't use gravel in the tank.

  • @mrshinyshoes A very good comment & thanks for posting - I did use about 2" of gravel in the first year but then after a few months the 'clean out' was a pain as the tank was so DEEP. Remember this is a tropical tank with cold water & cold water fish. This actual video was taken 'just' after I removed the gravel for 'boiling water cleaning' of the gravel so what you see here are my fish in freshly treated cold water & the 'bloom' only started a few days after. No gravel/sand = WAY less bacteria!

  • @FegrusMojo Nice fish, nevertheless. I want to keep koi in a tank too, but people tell me I can't. :(

  • @mrshinyshoes You CAN keep a Koi in a tank, you just need one that supports them. Koi grow VERY BIG, they want a lot of room to swim around in. The amount of fish in this tank-thats a BIG no no for Koi,thats why I built my 9000L pond for them. The Comets in this tank all grew to 12"-14" & even more. The Koi EXPLODED in size once they went into the pond (there are no comets in there right now). For Koi you need DEEP water so a BIG tank is needed. Comets 14" 45 years, Koi over 1M 200 years :D

  • @FegrusMojo And you can interact with your Koi a lot easier in a BIG aquarium, they need 'interaction' just like a little puppy growing up. They can 'see you' when they are in an aquarium, all they see in a pond is the food. Of course, thats why I 'kick' the wall of my pond 5 times when feeding time comes, the ones that know me come right up to the surface. I have new young Koi in the pond but I don't have video of them right now, they look really awesome !

  • @FegrusMojo I guess I can't put koi in my 20 gallon tank then. :(

  • @mrshinyshoes Yes that's a bit small :( If you have room you could make an indoor pond or an outdoor one ?

  • @FegrusMojo No, I don't have the space or the money for that. I might get a 50 gallon tank, though.

  • @mrshinyshoes I think their growth would be restricted with that size tank :( But some fish will only grow to a size that their environment/aquarium allows & will stop growing, Im not sure about Koi though so best check it out. But in that type of a setup with a large (restricted growth) fish it would need LOTS of air pumping into the water & a really really good filtration system. I couldn't do that myself to any fish, even Goldfish can grow really big & I dont like seeing them in tiny bowls.

  • lol my goldfish are fat XD

  • @masondoggp It would be good to see them, put up a video upload here on YouTube with them in it ;)

  • love you fish that you have got wish mines were the same

  • @mrdean61 Thanks for your comment ! If you want BIG fish then get a BIG tank, or dig a BIG hole and make it into a pond ;) You would be surprised at how fast they grow in just a few months when put into deep water.

  • Beautiful. How much did the tank cost?

  • @THELOCKNESS101 This 1,000L aquarium cost me 500 euro and that included the base, the hood with 4 lights and the external filtration system ;)

  • @FegrusMojo Thanks.

  • @THELOCKNESS101 No probs ;) I got it far less than half price because I knew the seller & he takes my fri for his pet shop so it was best for us both at that time. I dont have this tank anymore as Ive made a 9,000L pond over a year ago & just yesterday have given all of my fully grown (14) Comets etc away. Im only having Koi in there now :) It IS possible to pick up a second hand tank that size for 200 euro but you may not get the base/cover/lights/filter etc. DIY is possible with that :D

  • i love that black and yellow koi

  • @25311horsegirl I do as well ! She's really great, like a puppy ;) She's out in my pond now and has GROWN very fast. The golden parts on her skin 'sparkles', it's awesome to see but the camera doesn't show at all. I've some vids to upload if her this month and I've removed all the Comets from the pond so I've just got Koi in there now (and 1 BIG weather loch). When I sit on the pond wall she comes up to say hello and I've patted her on the head once already ! She didn't freak out at all :D

  • i love that black and yellow koi and i like this song

  • @25311horsegirl The song is 'Making Me Nervous' by 'Brad Sucks' /watch?v=OwjfE2ylbWU

  • Love this video, I have been watching this every now and then over and over again on a reqular basis :D I have an 600l aquarium with 8 big goldfishes in it: 2 orange white comets, 2 shubunkin comets, 2 sarassa comets and 2 sarassa commons. Your big orange comet is so gorgeous an HUGE! I read you don't have this tank anymore, how are your goldies and carps doing nowadays? I can't have pond here where I live, cause the winters are -30 degrees here :/ But you can see the fishes better in a tank :)

  • @YummyNails Hi there, glad you like the video ;) Yes all my fish are now in my pond, they are doing REALLY great! I lost some fish in the last 2 months due to a Heron but I still have my Golden Koi, Garden Koi/carp, goldfish, weather loach & sarassa comets. I even have some 2nd generation comets in there. The Golden Koi in this video is a 'Ghost Koi' & is not a Garden Koi/carp (the one wearing the shades). She is now around 70cm long ! I just got a Pleco but its not in the pond yet (to small).

  • @FegrusMojo Also, the majority of the comets are fully grown up now - 30cm to 35cm :) The white Garden Koi/carp in this video changed colour & is now a bright yellow (male) & is around 45-50cm long ! If you want BIG fish then dig a DEEP pond, dig as deep as you can. I use a 2000W garden 'swimming pool heater' for my pond (cheaper than a pond heater & its tiny). You should upload a video of your tank & fish, it would be great to see them :) I'll be uploading a new video of my pond soon.

  • nice, verry nice tank and beautiful koi

  • how much do 1000L tanks cost bro ? pls reply

  • @AwesomeAlexful This 1,000L aquarium cost me 500 euro and that included the base, the hood with 4 lights and the external filtration system ;)

  • how much do 100 l tankscost man ? pls reply thanks

  • Tanks. I will probably do some woodwork to improve the basement myself if it feels unproper . But you are satisfied with the tank itself?

  • @alvdal19 Yes, I was very very happy with it for a long time. I don't have it anymore now as I built a huge pond in the back garden and the fish are after getting very very big in a short time :D If you get a tank this size and have the space for it somewhere then you WILL be very happy with it..... until you want a HUGE pond that is ;)

  • Big fish. How did you rebuild the base. I am thinking of buying the same tank. Of course I would like the stand to support the aquarium! .......thankful for your comments on this .

  • @alvdal19 Hi There ;) When I got the base is was not the correct 1 for his tank, it was made with .5" chipwood which would not support the water weight or the tank itself with no water in it. I used 2"x4" wooden lats ontop of each other inside the base, they were all glued together with a water proof wood glue & the tank is supported entirely ontop of the 2X4 wooden lats which are glued together inside the base, all alround each length, width & corner.Basically the tank is sitting on solid wood.

  • Comment removed

  • where did you get that tank and white fish

  • @IsItRuddorRoach Hi there, I got the tank from a local pet store (who got it from China) and I had to rebuild the base. The white fish are Saraha Comets, I got them when they were 2 inches and were red and white, they grew and as they got older they turned totally white - they are all female Comets. I have also some female comets that are red/white. Unfortunately, I lost the largest white female comet this winter :(

  • omg ... boring

  • @elk0ss But it's still A WAY BETTER than any of your uploads :D

  • @FegrusMojo indeed!

  • superpopulation.

    too much fishes.

  • @nexoone They are all nice and happy in a huge pond outdoors since last year..... and the Koi are HUGE now :D

  • Hello, which manufacturer (aquarium) is that?

    Thanks

  • @R1Live Sorry but I don't know, it came from China and it had no markings on it, the base was total crap and wouldn't support a TV let alone a tank so I had to rebuild that before filling it up. Hey keep watching - that gold Koi is HUGE now and I've new vids to upload ;D

  • Song is: Making Me Nervous by Brad Sucks

  • @runin22 Well done ;)

  • whats the soong!?!?!?!?!?!

  • whats the soong!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • HOPE ANYONE ANSWER ME LOL!

  • I ONLY HAVE 2 KOI AND 1 BUTTERFLY KOI

  • IS 1OO GALLONS GOOD FOR KOI?

  • 100G is a little small as Koi grow into a big fish. Water quality and the oxygen level must also be thought about. What size are they right now ?

  • hakari koi is like umm 5 inches long.

  • @MrZunigaluis

    Is that fully grown ?

  • Nope, I dont think they fully grown yet. They just small kois but soon they gonna be huge like yours.

  • @MrZunigaluis

Ok that's cool. My Koi have really grown in size since I put them into the pond. The golden one in this video is now over 24 inches and the other two are catching up fast :D

  • Yeah, I love your fishes! How long do they grow? I heard it grow fast!

  • Koi can grow an inch per month if everything is perfect, sometimes more depending on their age when they start their 'growing'. They won't grow fast when old and water/food is not ok.

They can grow up to around 100cm/3.28feet/39.37inches :D

  • Wow! you gave me alot of information that I really need to know! Thank you so much!! Ohh I dont know how deep I can go because it will be my first time. However, Im looking forward to make this pond n upload the video of it. Thank you for advices!

  • Sure, anytime ;) Take a lot of pictures when your building it !!

  • One more question...is it hard to make a pond?

  • No, it is not hard to make a pond, just do your research beforehand and think about the size and shape of it a LOT first. The best shape of a pond below ground is oval, have one side deeper than the other side. The top of the pond can be whatever shape/size you want as long as it's strong enough and can hold the water level :D

  • Thanks for explaing it to me about the pond information! Yeah your right, I need to research n watch some videos about ponds! Thanks for everything! Sure, I will do my best!

  • The best of luck to you and HAVE FUN building it ;) Also, remember the one golden rule of building a pond -> no matter how big you make it you will ALWAYS want a bigger one !

So plan it well and take your time :D

Oh and keep me updated with your progress !!

  • Thanks man! You got me exciting like I cant wait to do this project! I will give special home for my Koi! Thanks for everything n sure, I will! Im gonna add you as mah friend if that okay wit you lol!

  • I don't see a mirrir carp?

  • @denknietna Yes, I have some Mirror Carp (aka pond Koi) but I also have a true Koi :D

  • butterfly koi is exactly the same size as hakari koi

  • Asagi koi is like 4 or 3 inches long

  • I planning to make a pond for them when it come to my b-day which is this March.

  • @MrZunigaluis

That's the perfect time to start on one, plenty of time to have it all done for the summer. DEEP !! Make it as DEEP as you can and they will be very happy in there :D

  • How deep can I go? n Thanks for the advice!

  • How far can you dig without hitting something ?

Make sure it's structure is solid if your going really deep and remember you can put in a raised wall around it to raise up the water level a few feet off the ground as well.

Lots of information is online on building ponds and some good instructions concerning water treatment etc.

  • Thanks ;)

  • tanks great ,i love cold water fish, any hints how on to build a good pond,my koy are reachin that size now.

  • Make it as deep as possible, have some of it in the shade and a good filtration system. Plenty of designs on the net. I've just installed a pond heater in my one a few days ago as it was -5C outside.

  • my dad had koi and shibunkins in a unheated unfiltered pond in dublin for years, they grew to around 12 inches long in the space of 10 years but then were sold, they were never feed but they had plenty of insects on the pond surface and under the wate too , ,the fish are pampered these day dont you think lol

  • True, plenty of worms/bugs in the ponds and the live food does them wonders ;)

  • Now theres a though! i wonder could i feed my koi small bugs from the pet shop?i am tryin to grow them huge like some of the ones on this youtube, check out this link.

  • You didn't post a link :)

There is plenty of information here on UTube on growing HUGE MONSTER Koi in ponds, everything from water quality to feeding, everything ;)

  • num parece 1.000 litros

  • whats this song?

  • Nice Koi!!! looks like a super hero!!!

  • Yeah, his cape was being washed when I took the video, he's back wearing it now though ;)

  • Correction -> HER cape was being washed when I took the video, she's back wearing it now though.

I've just discovered today that 'he' is actually a 'she' ;)

  • Are you in Ireland?

If you are have you checked out 'Aquatic Village' in Brittas, Wicklow?

Thousands of Goldfish in stock, great qualty stuff!

  • I've heard of them but haven't gotten around to going up there and checking them out yet.

Although, I've gotten rid of the 1,000L tank and now just have a small 180L breeding tank, the big fish are outside in the pond and GETTING HUGE !

  • were is that place man i might go there ,its big yea?

  • Yeah it is the biggest place i've ever been to, I made a mistake though when i said it's in Wicklow it's not quite that far, it's in County Dublin.

    Aquatic Village,

    The Stables,

    Brittas,

    Co Dublin.

Is the address on there web-site.

  • cheers thats great ,any tips on growing my koy and goldfish into monsters? =) lol no really!

  • nice koi u should just have koi in there it would look better

  • Thanks !

I've put them all out in the new pond now. I was thinking of taking out the Sarasa Comets and putting in just Koi :)

  • Judging by the scale (cig lighter), those big commets must be around 8 inches! did you grow them indside or out in a pond?

All those huge fish in an aquarium must be an awesome spectacle!

  • The biggest comets are over 12" !

I got them years ago when they were 1.5" and kept them in a tank. They grew so I got biger tanks, ending up with this 1000L tank.

They are all out in the pond now :)

  • is that a storage tank for the winter ?

  • No it's my main tank. I've just built a +9,000L pond for them out back so they'll probably be going into it soon !

  • nice what country you in ?

  • Ireland ;)

  • i live in the uk nere london :)

  • Makes me feel like putting on my wetsuit and jumpin' in Lol. Love the orange Koi with the black sunglasses ha ha

  • Yeah he's cool, he'd follow you around the house if he could get out of the tank :) He's actually pure Gold in colour but it doesn't come out right in the vid.

  • And he's the same as if you had a new puppy dog and when you go down to the kitchen in the morning - he's there wagging his tail, panting and following you around! I'll have to take a vid of it, he's AWESOME !

  • Oh and the cigarette lighter taped to the glass is just to give a indication of their size :)
