I agree with @MsPurpleMonkey333. I have an English Bulldog and she is about 6 months old now. I took her to the vet and he said pretty much the same thing. They have more health problems when they're fat. If you ever get a breed of dog, or any kind of animal for that matter that you are not familiar with, read up about them.  It will save any complications that you may have.

im not trying to be mean but you probably dont want him too fat. then they could have problems. we always wanted my bulldog to be the fat one but we found out she had hip dysplasia and the extra weight made her leg 10 times worse. just saying. :)

I have 3 english bulldogs all have had there tails docked because there tails will head into there butts and casuse major issues. trust me thats the truth, its not illegal anywhere, its healthier for this breed of dogs.

i own english bulldogs and i find your answer to getting the dog docked absolutely rubbish. if you have brought a proper pedigree english bulldog then it would not need docking as its tail should be either 1-2 inches long and straight or curled. in answer to your reply about not being illegal to dock your dog, in England where this breed originates from i can assure you it is ILLEGAL..

mine does not have a tail either, I wonder why some are long and some are short. Be careful that you clean under the tail cause it can get infection I heard. THey are really the best breed in the world

dont know if you know this but against the law or not most English bull dogs have their tail docked... it makes them look better for one thing and did you know they dont always do it illegaly apparantly.. i heard vets do it aswell not only by the inhumane rubber band method, plus english bulldogs look nicer with it docked american on the other hand dont

So cute a puppy! If there is a next time though make suer to get your puppy at 8-10 weeks not 6. Be very concious of how to socialise. When you take a pup early it misses out on learning important dog etiquette from its mom and litter mates. Its more bad on the breeder though, they shouldn't let their pups go so early. Still Cute pup! Ours is about that big right now, can't wait to have her home!

Rawhide is bad for Bulldogs because they're throat is smaller than most dogs. They end up choking on it.

Fine then if you know an alternative please list here for the owner. I have a JRT and Terrahua and they have lost weight using rawhides. The dog is cute just don't want him to have health issues.
