  • you gotta feel it man!! lol omg if i was playing this, i would be all over the place xD i would KILL this!! Great job man!

  • very simple and brilliant

    congratulations

  • removing the tremolo:O???

    Why?

Even if u don't use it it looks cool.

    Great stuff by the way:)

  • he sounds good. but i really wish that people would stop calling music that sounds like this jazz. because it isn't.

  • very well played! but put a smile on that face! music is a million times more enjoyable that way. :)

  • great song but I agree with surfinjazzy. I am not as good as you are but when i play what little i can play I feel it. U dont seem to be in to what you are playing but even still its a nice groove.

  • Sounds like the stuff played in my tech class everyday

  • some people seem to look way to focused while playing, but music is music & doesn't have any real look like all these fuckin pop singers like Justin Bieber, Hannah Montanna, etc.

  • Haha, he looked like a zombie playing guitar! But seriously, this would've been a lot better if he put some soul into it. He has some serious skill and a very high potential, but that "zombie" expression has got to go! You have to feel "free" when improvising to a track like this. Only then can you play directly from the soul!

  • sooo overwhelming--

  • a little more soul dude, but not bad at all!

  • Please.....how can i play like this??? is there any backing track I can get? it ?

    congratulatinmss

  • He is good, but I cant feel the Jazz Soul there.

  • you look like Jared Padalecki

  • sounds good, but theres no feeling in it

  • kaya wong cao!!

  • Good phrasing ideas, unfortunately he seems to either be thinking way to much, or he's just utilizing a bunch of already premade licks cause he's not feelin it at all!

  • @surfinjazzy That's the first thing I thought when I watched this video. There is no feeling at all. He's a great player but he's just not into it.

  • is he the one from libera??adam harris??

  • What guitar is that does anyone know??

  • its a Fender Stratocaster.

  • Absolutely no one should be making negative comments. If you are then you don't deserve to be making music. We should all be encouraging and loving one another. That is the spirit of music. Very well done Adam, I enjoyed it and I know you will go far.

  • @jmsbk12345 how do you know are you from the future?

  • @TairyGreen89 Yeah, I'm from the future. In the future all the successful people are the ones who had the right spirit in what they were doing - kept themselves humble and always looked for the betterment of other people.

  • @jmsbk12345 I agree if you don't like a video then you have the right to move on. It's all about the music.

  • @jmsbk12345 In order to evole as a musician you need criticism though

  • @jennyischinese Yes, as long as it is given in the right spirit - building someone up and not knocking them down.

  • @jennyischinese yeah but youtube comments are usually not a very good form of criticism. "lol omg u suk" is not going to tell me what im doing wrong

  • @jmsbk12345 I agree! We live in what I call " The Negative Generation" We as Americans need to do better in supporting one another, especially musicians.

  • I admire him for having the guts to just make the video. I also like the way he plays. You don't have to set your hair on fire to play well in my book.

    Ron

  • what scales is he using??

  • huh... G Minor?

  • I concur. But the guy was probably nervous when making this video, so let's give him a break.

  • Agreed Man,

Ive been listening to this kid Riley Stockwell he seems to have some great shit and the other guys that play with him are great musicians as well.

  • very nice playing but you look like a robot just sitting there with no emotion. Feel the music man!

  • what if thats his way of feeling it?

stop acting like u can read people. his emotions show in the music.

  • Well to each his own. I'm just saying he looks stiff and bored. He is playing some soulful smooth jazz. I would be getting all into this music and just jammin' and he is sitting there like he is high on ten drugs.

  • This is "soul". Or more commonly reffered to these days as"Smooth jazz". Not my cup of tea...i like straight up Jazz

  • sei freddo..!! sei di ghiaccio.. non mi piaci..

  • he is playin with so much style....

  • Love the sound of a strat! Nice.

  • Good Job! ^_^

  • awesome phrasing and lines..loved it..:)

  • thank you for sayin practise slow u should had also said feel the solo but yea i hate kids that try to solo to fast

  • How do u get tht tone?iv bin tryin to get somethin like tht for s long now with no success.gr8 groove btw.

  • i agree with liking the lick from 2:10 - 2:30. Thats what i want to learn how to do..what exactly is that

  • he is just play around descending down a g minor scale and occasionally throws in some chromatisism.

try play a g minor scale and play non harmonic tones on the up beats ( i.e notes not in the scale) but make sure they resolve on notes in the scale on the down beat.

  • Hi Adam... i liked your style. Waht pickups are you using?

    Thank you

  • Love the riff from 2:10 - 2:30

  • Great work! Awesome bepop lines! Wish I was this good at such a young age. Keep up the good work bro.

  • Good tune. I agree on some of the comments about moving up and down the neck instead of playing in boxes so rigidly, BUT you will develop that ability as you grow as a musician. How long have you been playing?

  • huh? i want to do that..what scale is that?

  • minor pentatonic i would think..? only a guess

  • dorian

  • ...thank you

  • it's actually a bebop scale. Dorian is a mode, of a scale.

  • Sounds nice

  • I am prepared to get a thumbs down, but I thought that his choice of rythyms was bland and repetitive. His note choice was excellent though.

  • hmm well i thought hes note choices were ok his technique wasnt great he had no vibrato to express his feel.

ill give you a thumbs up brotha

  • Well, for his obviously limited knowledge of the fretboard, I think his note choice was good.

If he learned his way up and down the fretboard better, rather that playing across it in a box position, he could greatly improve his phrasing, speed, and fluidity between the changes. It seems like he's 'jumping' up and down.

This is easier said than done though, it's my biggest challenge. :P Still, 3/4 of the solution to a problem is identifying the problem, right?

  • I would love to do some music with you =) i love to write... and sing..

  • its smooth Jazz..Very nice too to see a young man appreciating this and playing it..Doing a very nice job at it too

  • loved it! jazz rocks!!

  • Very Benson influenced....it also brings Larry Carlton to mind. Great dynamics and bebop lines.

  • cool licks this is a fusion (jazz -funk)check my cool solo

  • this is funk, not jazz?

  • well its sorta jazz-funk. think like the crusaders style
