Watched your videos since out of nowhere I had a dream about playing some old games with childhood friends. Ah, nostalgia. I'll probably keep an eye out for Vindicators next time I go to the local game trading place.
I was on a real tank craze when I was at that age. I wished I could play the shiny arcade version more often, but only some out-of-town malls had it. I tended to make a special note to stop by the arcade whenever my parents went shopping at those places.
Nice strategy for fighting the final boss. I made the mistake of moving too far ahead. I was doing fine and he had one eye left and that's when I lost my last life. Man it was frustrating.
Heh, a bit of an anti-climax the ending is, right? At least I enjoyed the music quite a bit, and I seem to understand the system a bit better. Good job on finishing it. Is it harder than you made it look?
Yeah I know. That was the main thing that ticked me off after owning the cartridge for 10 years and finally beating it now. I hate the ending.
Yeah the music is pretty cool! Scared me as a kid though. ;)
Yeah it's harder than it looks, particularly the bosses. If you don't know what you're doing, you will never defeat a boss unless you exploit a trick. I used tricks throughout all the bosses to ensure survival. I almost didn't beat the first boss; I had to resort to normal shot button tapping.
And the last boss, I would have had to fight all four eyes at the same time if I would have moved too far ahead. There's an example of using a trick against a boss.
Some more info: If your fuel bar empties, a number countdown starts in it's place from 10 to 0 and you explode when it reaches 0. Also when the countdown starts, your tank's speed slows to less than half speed, making it really exciting and intense to reach the next fuel can. I love that little addition.
