  • very fast...both of them

  • Excellent match! Osu from JIKA

  • kotaka-jet lee :-)

  • This is really boring ..... Don't know if it's the style or the fighters but it sux

  • @Chrommmy These competitors are either shotokan or Shitoryu...but don't judge them too harshly until you face them in the ring....You might be surprised at their timing and speed. And yes, this match was boring.

  • I can't say that this was enjoyable to watch. George is an phenomenal competitor, I know that personally and regret missing the opportunity to fight him back in 2000 when I lost in the semi-finals. But what's with this putting the arms out when the guy grabs you??? If you're going to take him down do it! Like at 4:13 he ducks like he's going to take him down but doesn't....

  • Gay.

  • that referee is a dumbass definitelly he needs binocular lens

  • these 2 sissi don't know how to fight, i dnt know why they bounce for.

  • @lencey11 I'm not trying to argue with you but because that's how people started to fight in tournaments in the 80's-90's and it just grew more and more to this day.

  • @lencey11 This is not fighting...it is a sport contest in which the contestants score points, by tagging each other .

  • it's official point sparring martial sports is officially such bullshit.

  • @Thsotus THIS IS GOOD DANCE...MUAY THAI FOREVER NEED JUT 5 SECOND KNOC THEM OUT

  • @bushidoartss I would like to see you try. Look at how fast they get their distance... Oh and there is something that we call control... They could easily knock each other out...but that fact that they can hit with full speed and power and retract the hit shows way more skill than just plowing through.

  • this video sucks because to me it looks like they are bouncing around and exchanging hits for most of the time, ps i've been doing karate for a long time so i know what i am saying

  • i tire of kumite,..but its required :( nobody feels like gettin hit nd punched by others sometimes,..

  • Not 1 kick, unreal

  • this sport is very sexual

  • Is he using a backstance? or is it more like a horsestance parallel with your opponent?

  • how the fuck was it a score to aka at 2:25?? if anything ao had the score, but not really

  • @KillaNinja0 umm its george kotaka so i think umm well hes the world champion at kumite many times

  • @KillaNinja0 im not saying its biased but he does train hard enough to punch, kick, etc., to become fast

  • @KillaNinja0 its called a counter punch.

  • Yeah I think George screamed louder...lets give it to him. Thank god they started making the booties. Not only do they look tough, but you don't have to worry about getting touched to hard.

  • its a same that we greeks cannot be on wkf.We have very good athelets and the karate can be helped from us

  • alright brandis (:

  • Ohh man! That first attack by Sensei George.....wow! Can we say SPEED!

  • brandis is from my dojo to!

  • brandis miyazaki is from MY dojo :]]]]

  • Very interesting.

  • i see mee in the back :D

  • Are George Kotaka Left Handed?

  • i believe so. If not he is really good at left =]

  • ya. he is.

  • I'm not really familiar with Kumite. This is pretty cool. Its seems like fencing but with your arms and legs and no armor. I'm assuming its based on points. Are head strikes not allowed? are there more points for clean strikes compared to blocked or partially blocked? point differences for striking vital spots (like liver, or sternum)?

  • i don't know if these rules apply internationally, but here in spain it goes like this:

ippon (1 point) for chudan or jodan tsuki/uchi

nihon (2 points) for chudan geri or tsuki after successful ashi barai

sambon (3 points) for jodan geri or any technique performed after the opponent that has been thrown to the floor or has fallen down.

only skin touch is allowed for jodan geri. cadets and juniors are not allowed to touch the opponent with jodan hand techniques.

    hope that helps!

  • i wish it was 2 points for tsuki

  • i think this Miyazaki kid is intimidated by Kotaka, he's probably heard alot about george && his knockouts lol.

he had alot of opportunities to get a point....

    but he backed away....

but i'd be intimidated to lol...

seeing him fight up close at the AAU nationals in Albany last year....

  • This isn't the first time they sparred =]

  • i would guess that Kotaka won the last time....

but i just wanna know why didnt he fight back? lol.

  • It's a very difficult thing to even attempt a decent attack when fighting someone like George with his amazing foot work.

  • your right. it's the majority of the Hawaiians i think... they have great tech. i had a chance to spar with one of his students... GREAT tech.... but that doesnt mean i back down (=

  • brandis was being smart about it, not scared.

sparring a guy like george kotaka requires the closest thing to perfection if you want to get a point.. in which brandis got one, at least.

  • i heard george won... the worlds

  • i mean george'

  • George is a true black belt...

hopefully he will win world championships at tokyo!'

  • Hellz yeah, Hawaii Style bro

  • He said he would fight him before he retired and I guess that became a reality lol great job man. i'll Be back home soon to hawaii

  • Way to go Brandis.....He fought Great especially considering he was up against his Hero in the sport......He must have felt great to even be on the opposite side of the line with him....

  • Way to go two Champions from Hawaii...OSU!!!
