Morrissey wouldn't have used rollers. His hair was always pushed slightly forward, as yours in entirely back. I blow dry it and use Dax Wax (red). It works a treat, but is hard to get out.
ive got thick curly hair and i MUST use a blow dryer to get a nice pomp/quiff look. im sure these people who never use a blow dryer have naturally straight hair that stands straight up when dry.
I'm a Greaser and I NEVER EVER EVER use a blow dryer. I strictly use Murrays Pomade and a comb. I always comb my hair before I put the pomade in b/c it will hurt really bad combing it back D:
that isnt necessarily true. look at the quiffs some of the teddy boys had back in the day... they used blow dryers. and who says. people should be able to use what ever the hell they want.
Doesn't he use a pomade? Also, if I were to use a blowdryer, should I put the pomade on when my hair is damp, blowdry, then perhaps put some more on after, or should I blowdry the hair first and then put pomade on?
i agree that pomps and hair in general should be all greased up but let the guy do his hair how he wants you know? Stop telling him to put grease or pomade in his hair cause obviously he doesnt want to.

This will probably sound rather metrosexual, but i've been looking for answers for awhile: I've got the same kind of curly hair unfortunately. i've tried everything to slick it back from pomade to bryllcreem to gel to whatever, but thusfar nothing is satisfactory, if the wind blows the wrong way my hair ends up a mess. blow drying it after applying gel works to keep it styled a certain way? any suggestions?
Hi mazdak1. I had that same "problem" you have. Straight out of the shower I towel dry my hair (but not completely) and apply a pinch of murray's superior pomade: hair must feel thick, than I brush my hair straight back and i let them dry naturally. Now you can do an easy-way traditional pompadour (no hairspray, no hairdryer) if you want, cause hair still straight. You must apply another pich of murray's in this final step. Sorry for my fake english. I'm an italian greaser.
So what are all the steps to making ur pomp? like what hair products do u use and everything. cause i have one but its not as good as urs. i can't get my hair to curl in the comb like you did. plz tell.
Hey guys, I've been wondering how to make a pompadour lately because i want to style it myself. Unfortunately, its not in style atm and it upsets me. Everyone says i was meant to be born in the 50s. I would like to know how to make more of a Elvis-type pomp. I would like to know how long my hair has to be also.
Ok, so I been doing my hair for 17 years.. one thats not a pomp.. thats more like the singer from color me bad or a late George Michael. two, Ive never had to blow dry and I got thick wavy hair, and ive never had to do some weird rolls like that with that kind of brush. You just need some real pomade and practice. You cant go half way with it.but then hair spray!? Amateurish but I guess you got to get in where you fit in.
it all depends. I use basically the same method he does because I don't like my hair all greasy. Runs down my forehead, ruins my towels and pillowcases. And I can't wash it out easily. I use something called "spiker". It comes in a blue bottle and it looks like glue. definitely holds like it and i can wash it out on the first try. I apply it, get the blow dryer out and comb up. worked for me
Murray's does the same to me, actually. Although, the more I think about it; I just think I NOTICE the hair falling out more. Usually, that hair could just shed during the day and you wouldn't notice. But with Murray's, the hair is greased up and the sheded hair stays on your head until you comb it out (and then, to make matters worse, it sticks to your comb so you REALLY notice it). At least thats how I explain it...because the only alternative is that I'm going bald ;)
thumbs up for seth rogen?

All you need is Murray's Beeswax & super-hot water. Your hair should be about Beatles length, but short in back.
1. Straight out of shower comb straight back
2. Murrays in both palms, rub together, wipe back on hair.
3. Comb through once, using hot sink water to clean comb.
Pull forehead hair forward just a bit from left to right
4. Comb up & over from left to right
5. Use mirror to fix & check DA in back
6. Repeat if necessary
Takes A LOT of practice

Yes...I use the murrays and i garanteed that is excelent for fixin the pomp!
