  • This Song Makes me think in rusia :S

  • @Sh4dowBlazerl you're not the only one, thats scary.

  • Gotta listen to dat bassline! So groovy!

  • Jeweller's Hands, Too Much To Ask, If You Were There Beware, and Hellcat are my Top 4 AM songs :D

  • The Bass at 2:06

  • @Schoolin113 Probably the best part of the song when you've listened to it some times :D

  • @MrAkillina yes i know... that doesn't take away from the fact that they've been around for years. it's almost an insult to peoples intelligence to suggest such a well known band

  • this song could just be the outro repeated over and over and it would still be amazing

  • there should be a 'love button'

  • @MrAkillina oh yeah cus they haven't been around for years. people, you should start watching this box thing called a television or travelling in cars

  • @AldoRayne ;)

  • @AldoRayne 3 months ago it was :D

  • I could listen to the outro forever... and ever..

  • Best Breakdown EVER!

  • Love the tune, just oozes COOL all over. Arctic Monkeys are definitely up there when it comes to my current favorite artists.

  • lovely

  • i think humbug may be the best arctic monkeys album

  • Humbug just gets better & better everytime i listen to it, by the way this song is an all time classic!

  • alex turner is the best lyricist ever :)

  • in a lifetime, there are masterpieces you will enjoy, you can enjoy this..

  • Une tuerie <3

  • alex turner is the genius

  • Masterpiece.

  • The firs time i heard Humbug i thought it was shit, second time i started to like it, third time i couldnt stop listening to it.

  • @juanefv your right! same for me :P

  • if you don't love this album, it wasnt meant for you so stop hating

  • @smokinmehreefer67 Haters gonna hate.

  • @smokinmehreefer67

This may be a shocker to you but other people have opinions that may differ from yours.......

  • @Army88Z my bad bro i was drunk jammin to this and couldnt believe all the negative feedback on this, but yes everyone has an opinion and i respect that, and i did sound like a douche huh

  • 6 people have no taste of music

  • Anybody else disappointed with the new approach the arctic monkeys are taking or is it just me? I tried hard make this album grow on me but it just isn't for me I guess.

  • @Army88Z wtf woulod you rather eat the same thing over and over forever? or would you like a variety of taste. idk about you but i like variety, if anythin you dont even deserve to listen to this album give it to someone whod apprciate it(if indeed you did buy it, wich i did because i actually support am and dont rip them off), i think you hear am and dont listen to em... and if you've a lesson to teach me i'm listenin, ready to learn.. ps your dissapointing..

  • @smokinmehreefer67 I think what he meant was:

"What the fuck? Would you rather eat the same thing over and over again forever or do you like a variety of taste? I don't know about you, but I like variety. You should give this album to someone who would be able to appreciate it; that is, if you really did buy it, like I did because I support them, rather than ripping them off. I think you hear the music but don't really listen to it. Maybe you have something to teach me... go on, I'm listening."

  • @smokinmehreefer67

Wow really?!? A bit of a rash comeback dont ya think? I bought the cd and I like it I just don't love it. There are some songs I like on it but just not the tempo and style I loved about them from the first two songs. BTW this is an opinion nothing to start one of those dumb internet fights over.

The only lesson I have for you is try not to be a douchebag on the internet......it says alot about who you are behind that computer screen.

  • This isn't why I listen to the Arctic Monkeys...

  • @Th3Pr0Z0n3 then why do you?

  • @smokinmehreefer67 Whatever People Say I am, That's What I'm Not.; Your Favourite Worst Nightmare; But definitely not Humbug.

  • I like Humbug,..it's cool. BUT,.....I'm hoping that their next one is going to be an ass kicking punk album.

  • @doobiescoo1 punk? gtfoh there is nothing punk about AM you should slap yourself for even sayin somethin that stupid

  • six people are little liars

  • Ill never forget the goosebumps i got the first time i listened to this song...

  • great songs on this album, i hope the next album will be as good as this!

  • One of the best songs I've heard in my life. The ending is superb.

  • i would bet money the song is about heroin

  • @Nothing58 What? Wow,...interesting. What makes you think that, and do you suspect that Alex Turner knows first hand about heroin? Just curious,....but I doubt it seriously.

  • This always reminds me of the series "Carnivale". Love it!

  • ideali daina ir idealus albumas

  • Estos muchachos no tienen techo, evolucionan disco tras disco.

  • vienas geriausiu sio amziaus albumu

    ACIU

  • Josh Homme was a producer of this album

  • Arctic Monkeys are the only band, that i can honestly say i love every song of theirs. I don't know its just the lyrics inspire and enchant me, like i'm in some kind of trance whenever i listen. They take time over every song, unlike other bands i've come across.

  • @xfeaqueenbeex same here, well the strokes as well

  • I love the bass in this song!!

    Nick O'Malley rocks!!!

The Arctic Monkeys= THEE best band of our decade!!!!

  • i can't believe i didn't like this album when it came out... they were a bit ahead of me :')

  • It always disappoints me when bands change their style...but....with these guys, I found them when I was into the quicker sound. Songs like "Old Yellow Bricks" and "Vampires" were my addiction...

Then they slowed down ... and fortunately it was at the pace of my musical taste. This album is absolutely beautiful, I am so pleased. I like how deep everything is, it's just easy to listen to. I think, with this song and "My Propeller", they've become my favorite band ever.:D

  • @theocean1973 guess you are right, since the first time I heard this song it reminded me of this kind of movie, it's a really great track

  • Took Them A week to record this song...I can't imagine spending 7 days doing anything better. After 3.20 my brains hit the wall behind me....and I'm still typing!

  • this is THE MOST AMAZING! got me high for a while.

  • this song reminds me of the spiderwick chronicles

  • @thiagoteixeiratube that's funny, it always reminded me of harry potter, i guess it just has a mysterious magical sound to it

  • Those 5 dislikers are being killed brutally by chuck norris over and over again each time you read this...

  • i never clicked on 5-minute AM songs but when i heard this i was like lol

  • Joshua Homme performed wonders producing this album. You can hear his influence a lot after 3:07 - the melody, and when it fades out, it kinda sounds like a Carousel. It just reeks of Homme, and I love it :D

  • Fiendish wonder in a carnivals wake <= that line reminds me to the born in a burial gown video from cradle of filth... spooky

  • God... The ending is so epic.

  • Didnt get this song the first time I listened to it, now it blows me away on every listen

  • love this song & the whole album. they just gets better and better

  • i can never just listen to an arctic monkeys song

i have to soak it up, absorb the lyrics and vocals, guitar and bass and drums (:

alex turner is the best lyricist ive ever heard, every song is so different but they each hold that precious arctic monkeys trademark

    like this if you agree!!

  • @weluvmarley We share that opinion

  • @weluvmarley -Sheds a tear- Well said my friend.

  • epic final for an epic album!

"If youve a lesson to teach me,

    Im listening ready to learn"

    HUMBUG great great album!

  • Josh Homme + Arctic Monkeys = Pure Bliss

  • Im feeling their new album.

  • Best part is the freaky solo from Jamie Cook. Stunning ending the album

  • Wow such a creepy sounding and total chilling album. It has also some of the most relaxing songs (like dance little liar) equal to the best reggea masterpieces. Definetly a grower, wasn't so happy first when they gave away the fast dancey kinda sound for this more creepy and folkish groove, but now...bam!

  • Humbug : masterpiece

  • tellement magnifique cette chanson....

  • If fans cannot accept change, than they are not true music fans.

  • the band's most underrated song

  • first time i heard the Humbug songs i were like "Thats no way near as good as the other albums" but next day i were like "ill just have to listen to them one more time... one more time... one more time..." now i love all of arctic monkeys songs

  • But the beginning is the same as Daniel Merryweather's "Change"!!

  • Humbug i thought was rubbish when i first downloaded it...but now I know it's their finest piece of work by far. An absolute gem and the definition of a "grower" of an album. Keep listening...and it gets better. Clever lyrics and great music.

  • best part 0:00, 5:40 i guess?

  • i LOVE when alex says " You thought the wolves would be impressed" <3 amazing.

  • all the songs contain loads of metphors and are really mysterious.. still im liking the new sound but id prefer it if they mixed it up abit :P :D

  • WOOOOOO a genious piece of music

  • 3:13 to 5:40 is epic!!!!!!!!

  • I like the fact they've changed their sound, they are versatille and no one is 19 forever...now they are darker and deeper but I really like it(I like very very much their early stuff too)

  • at least fot me humbug sound like a zombies game's soundtrack haha

very dark and creepy and mysterious, and still awesome!!

  • Best song ending ever....

  • Best song on the album, imo.

  • I love the new Arctic monkey style

  • hi he

  • I love every album... this one was harder to grasp because it was so different to the others... but what an album! I love this band far too much!!

  • I really love this album. I love all 3 of them equally, actually. They're all so different that it's not fair to compare them! The lyrics are always amazing. In every song. The Arctic Monkeys are just magical.

  • This album isn't my favourite.. yet. But it is their best album. Just not half as mainstream-friendly as their first two.

  • What u have a version of 18 minutes long?? is true??

  • why does the version of the jewellers hands i got is about 18 minutes long ???

  • This album is their best album.

Everyone prefers their 1st album, but honestly, how many albums sound like Humug, and how many albums sound like WEPSIATWIN?

The individuality of this album is quality, and ontop of that then their instrumental skills have got much better, aswell as Alex's song writing ability.

    Phenomenal live aswell!

    Best album

  • i accualy like "Favourite worst nightmare" the most. But yet humbug is still an improvment from the two first albums. Because its a new and exiting style, a style i cant relate to any other bands. So you cant get sick of their songs by listeninfg to other stuff, like for example you can get sick of heavy metal, hard rock or blues itself by listening to one or two bands.

  • Yeah exactly. I think they're getting better per album to be honest, but that's just my personal opinion.

  • dude its not an opinion, its a fact!!!

  • still awesome but i just dont like their them as i used to

  • The evolution of a band.....This oozes talent.

  • I love the new stuff. Alex started off as another purveyor of British life ala Moz, Albarn, Cocker, P Doherty but now seems to be developing and reaching to be a truly masterful lyricist like Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen.

  • i can't figure out for the life of me what this song is about?

    anyway, its definitely a grower!

  • i think i heard somewhere that its about alex turner growing up from the early days when he was a rebellious indie kid and now the press and stuff wont let him grow up or appreciate hes changed

  • I really dont like this album y prefer their firsts album

    sorry for my english

  • A truly powerful song, and wat an outro 2 what is i think. 'A well worked and creative album.'

  • love the "in the moonlight they're more Thrillin, those things that he knows..."

  • such a great album which a lot of Fans dismissed at its first listen but its a grower and is probably the best thing they've done and i'm glad they are changing sound

  • this album is the fucking shit

  • @cheevers4ever You're right. If they continue this way, they'll become living legends.

  • @cheevers4ever anybody who dismissed this album isnt a true fan. your there for the ups and downs becasue you know... in time people will be ridding this album harder than lindesy lohans ass in jail ;P

true masterpieces take time to be discovered. and probs to everyone showing these chaps the support they deserve!

  • @cheevers4ever couldn't agree with your more, their first two albums sounded too similair, therefore if this had the same feel it would be slandered. but the fact that there going for this dark, gritty appearance and sound brings you in. am digging it

  • @cheevers4ever I love this album, they show and push their influences mainly on Smashing Pumpkins.

  • @mrbuddy12345 I would say The Doors, although that's mainly this song and Crying Lightning. I can see the Pumpkins kinda' thing on the guitars though.

  • i love this song its kinda dark during the verse and gets pretty in the chorus. Its Beautiffly Sinister.

  • i can defiantly hear the nick cave influence in this one.

    love it <3

  • If youve a lesson to teach me,

    Im listening ready to learn

Theres no one here to police me,

Im sinking in till you return

If youve a lesson to teach me,

    Dont deviate dont be afraid

Without the last corner piece I cant calibrate,

    Lets get it ingrained

  • crecieron personalmente y musicalmente, antes más agresivos, ahora más limpios... no suenan nada mal

  • cambiaron mucho...me gustaban mas antes.

    5/2/10 en Madrid!

  • mm,

i do more like the old songs..

    the indie-rock songs

  • this album rocks, and what qualities of the previous albums qualify them as indie? Indie isn't a style, rather it depends on your record label.

  • Indie is just a word for people to put themselves in the "underground" of music, rather than following the mainstream. Once a band becomes popular/famous, all of a sudden they're no longer indie.

  • That's more or less what I am saying: they were never really indie. The first album was huge, and the second broke a record set by the Beatles in most albums sold in the first week or something like that. Nonetheless, I'm not trying to be one of those Youtube douche bags who argues about shit via wall comments. Good day.

  • Don't worry, I'm not starting an argument, just confirming what you were saying.

  • Oh man this is a great album by a great band with a great co-producer.

  • Its Pretty Cool

  • a masterpiece that will stand the test of time

  • *grown*

  • At the start i disliked humbug but now its really gronn on me another great album by AM

  • haha same for me !

  • @grassmaneireann ohhh bloody hell calm down

  • probably my favorite monkeys song unbelievably good

  • only an amzing band can change their sound and still sound amazing. They did it. Not many bands can pull that off.

  • Yeah. Sadly, JET was one of the bands who failed...I REALLY hope they go back to their true sound. The only good track on their Shaka Rock album was She's A Genius which sounds like it should belong to their previous albums!

    ARCTIC MONKEYS FOREVA!

  • true that

  • what a way to end an album! this tunes as epic as they come!

  • I just saw these guys yesterday here in NYC. They opened the show with this song. Great way to start it because the bass just GRABS you.

    They rock !!!

  • Has anyone else notice the 'Jeweller's Hands' beginning similarity to 'Dance Little Liar' (about 20secs in) ?

  • Nope, just you.

  • @uberstuff5 The drum parts are very similar. Listen.

  • you thought the wolves would be impressesd.

  • Homme's got these monkeys slingin gold.

  • josh hommes influence is well aparent

best album they have made in my opinion

  • God, I love the creepy, eerie ending, and the drums throughout the whole song is WIN

all in all it gets a 10/10 from me :D

  • Best song on the album in my opinion. Just a superb track, both musically and lyrically.

  • i love this song.

    the lyrics is so nice.

  • nice, such a classic to hear =)

  • shit? you dont know about music.

    Good song!!!

  • this was sooo much better live...

  • auwhoorhrej, Spot on mate. This album just goes to show how musicley gifted these boys are, Alex in particular. Absolute legends. what a tune.

  • I tried to understand what this song is about, and came across some guy who thought it was about a girl who fell in love with the wrong kind of guy, like a loverboy, and all her friends (the wolves) tell her that, but she falls for him (again) and her friends are proved right. At the end she realizes her mistake.

  • The lyrics are like a good book or poem, with multiple layers.

The music is great too, as it gradually builds, like Ravel's Bolero.

Like good wine, you've got to learn to enjoy this album.

  • going to see these on monday! cant wait

  • i went! they were unreal and the support eagls of death metal were pretty good aswell

  • I only seen the last song from the eagles of death metal but these were absolutely unreal!!

  • Love the album, love the song

Arctic Monkeys are looking for freedom on this album... love it

    Great band!

  • i gotta wonder weather this song is about LSD. not saying it definatly is, im just wondering. Maybe a bad trip?

  • if you don't like it fair enough, it is a refined taste. But critics are loving it because of poetism employed by alex. musically, they've grown up too.

to say critics are only loving it because they're the arctic monkeys is cynical and ridiculous. Critics love to bash a band at their height, but they can't because anyone who knows anything about music or lyricism would understand that, even if it isn't your particular taste, it is a great album.

Despite that, the song isn't really that good.

  • same dude! i hope they play a few old songs too

  • talking shit you are, its brilliantly different!

  • OH DEAR
