  • Many people who have both physical and developmental disabilities, then, are placed in a house, cared for by one or two 'workers' and if they cannot speak to tell of their 'experiences' it is not to their advantage to be put in such a position. A facility that has many professional and constant levels of care and expertise is a much better option for many who are forced into group homes because of a greedy social darwinistic society.

  • @Solablueangel Most are happier living in their own apartment. It gives them a sense of control and helps their self-esteem.

  • There are different levels of developmental disability. There is public ignorance that thinks developmental disability is always pretty much like Down's Syndrome. This kind of mindset which is ONE SIZE FITS ALL is IMMORAL. The governments are closing down excellent/loving intermediate level care facilities. Its all about saving money, so as with everything the officials depend on false propaganda. In group homes people that cannot speak or communicate have FEW CHECKS AND BALANCES as protection.
