  • My dad always said it was bs, but I did the research and it was actually quite real. How does it work? Is there a valve that allows air to bypass the supercharger, or is there leakage around the screws?

  • @mayorts3 look close there is a four inch gap under the blower..if this is the movie car thats in london now when you hit the switch on the shifter it just turns on an electric motor and spins just the pulley on the outside of the gutted out blower with a carb sitting under the blower....They do make bypass blowers this isn't one of them

  • @OHJUSTFORKU So your saying the blower is just a shell and the drive belt connects to an electric motor instead of the crank?

  • that fuckin beast has a life of it's own. look at it grin at you

  • were those jumper cables on the left?

  • i dont know what some of you are talking about. a so so buddy of mine made an air charger that used an electric motor. he did it with some junk and it worked and give him more horses.

  • I used to think the switch on blower was BS with my dad, but actually Weiand developed this with Ford for the Australian Super Stallion for use wo supercharging in the outback wo premium petrol if it were not available, and could be switched on when it was available.Very cool.

  • Its true and it was a concept, but it was truly real. Look it up!

  • @fairmontxf87 thanks for the info bro and ya that does suck.. I thought it would be pretty cool if you could turn your blower on and off with just a push of a button.. Its like what they say you cant allways get what you want LOL!!!!

  • what did andy sandberg say? jizz... in my pants.

  • FAKE ASS BLOWER

  • that is some bad ass shit!!! how the hell does that blower work?

  • @anthony1bad351 am not sure am not from USA but i think when the blower turns on it suck more air in and the more air the more it burns and you get more horse power

but i heard you can not do it for a long run ore you engin might blow up i think you can see it ass NOS just a extra boost for a short time to get away fast like cops XD

  • @Genlog76 Blowers run all the time... just like a turbo !

  • @anthony1bad351, it's basically a prop, there's no real science behind it's operation, it's an electric motor running the fat belt, have a closer look at the engine bay, you'll notice the fat belt is short but hides enough to give the illusion and the constant one tone sound from the charger is a dead give away. so yeah, sorry to burst your bubble bud but at least it looks cool.

  • when that blower kicks in my fucking head blew up fucking nasty sounding

  • Wish I had one, then I'd blow it up & put it on YouTube for you little freaks to watch.

  • now that sounds fkn awesome FORD POWER BABY

  • I swear if I win the lottery will be the first thing I will buy!

  • who i have to kill to get this car? its f%cking awesome!

  • What a noise, even though I love corvettes(mainly the newer ZR1) the noise on all or most newer cars are faked by the exhaust system.

That noise is JUST the engine and maybe the whirring of the blower, so cool, don't make 'em like that anymore sadly, cool video.

  • Mmmmmm, sexy.

  • SWEET!!

  • I would fucking kill somebody for a Pursuit Special.

  • I know what I want for christmasss yyeeeeeeeeeaaa :) :) :P :P

  • Clutch-driven superchargers exist. It would make sense to drive one off the AC compressor, since that pulley is a clutch anyway. All you need is a secondary air intake that bypasses the motionless rotors when the supercharger isn't engaged.

  • this is for showing off. This blower is s fake but it's damn cool :P

  • my dream...insane!

  • Are you saying that this Blower engages when the AC pump is turned on.

No way I thought the Blower was always on and no way to turn it off.

WTF, I guess I need to do more homework it that is the case,.

  • are those disco lights? i love this car as much as the next guy but you can't actually take it to prom dude...or can you? we shall see.

  • how does the blower engage?

  • Ah yes... there's no substitute for horse power.

  • Our top pursuit man wants to quit the road and we have to seduce him with candy?

  • he's in a coma man! he loves it!

ok, how the hell did you get all this togeather?

it just happened max, you know, a piece frome here and a piece from there.

  • @angusyjr "Yeah, she's the last of the V8's. She sucks nitro. Phase 4 head. Twin overhead cam - 600 horsepower through the wheel..."

  • @angusyjr You've seen it, you've heard it, and you're still asking questions?

  • the blower! tell him about the blower!

  • Its an Australian car with an American engine :D

  • Prius owners nightmare in rearview mirror.

  • OMG FUCKIN YES

  • omg i think my ears just jizzed

  • @DrMMHMD the blower was fake on the original mad max car and this is a mad max interceptor replica.

  • "She sucks nitro."

  • @richardaiken1 Phase four head, twin over head cam six hundred horse power through the wheels......Great stuff!

  • I'M DOWNLOADING MAD MAX 1 NOW ! ! !

  • i'd be glad to pay a ticket just to listen to that car reving for a couple hours, it's symphony to my ears ...

  • he in the coma!

  • nice

  • I can has ty !@

  • @k4ft4n

Hahahaha...nice one man. I laughed my ass offf :))))

  • @k4ft4n ... now 26

  • i'm fallin in love at this car

  • Comment removed

  • @laxiton nope its much lower tech than that the blet runs off the old ac pump

  • @bondy007100 Correct! I've removed my comment to not further spread this miscomprehension. Seems a real mechanic can spot that AC setup clearly in the movie and the builder confirmed apparantly.

  • "She is Meanness put to music."

  • Sounds really good. Now go get the nightrider baby!

  • Last of the V8's, she sips nitro, phase 4 heads. She's the ducks guts! Sweet.

  • oh now im a happy kid again

  • I want to die and re born in the 60' of america! (or australia)

  • I LOVE it!! Is this "Last V8", the replica built in Australia and later sold to a fan in America?

Man, we should be fighting the NWO with cars like this!

  • That's a fake supercharger isn't it?

  • i got freakin goose bumps man!

  • Dude i just CAME !!!!!

  • i lke mad max and this car is so amazing

    i want the same!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lord!!

  • Is it me - or does this sound like a Dyson vacuum with a piece of Lego stuck in it?

  • Australia used American Falcons from 1960 to 1971. In 72 they started building their own version for harsher conditions. The Falcon used for Mad Max was a '73 XB GT coupe, therefore nothing to do with the American Falcons which was how this whole thing got started. Nava will probably say next the Australian Chargers are the same as American Chargers.Australia had a 6 cylinder Hemi head motor. No such animal in the states and the Aussie Charger isnt much bigger than the Falcon 'Nuff said!

  • @Statimtek, you're right. There was a Hemi 6 that was a combination of Australian and Italian engineering and it was a monster of horse power. One was a 265 C.I. and the smaller one was (I think) a 245 C.I.

Someone has a vid up of a 265 that sounds mild at first and near the end, he really lets it rip and it made my jaw drop in awe.

  • @Psycausis Yes. There was also a 215 CID. The 215 produced 140 HP, the 245 165HP,the 265, 262 HP and the 262 Six Pack produced 305 HP. Not bad for a six banger!

  • @Statimtek, I agree. Not bad at all. Sure would be nice to have one of these in a '72 Dart or a '67 Barracuda.

  • @Psycausis The Mopar club I belong to puts on a show every year in June. We had a 50 Plymouth Cranbrook circle track racer with an Aussie hemi in it at the show one year.I think it was the 245.Pretty cool. The 262 Six pack produced more HP than the 340 and the standard 383 Big blocks. Put one of those in an A Body, like a 1st or 2nd Gen Barracuda or a 2nd or 3rd Gen Valiant or Dart and you would have a nice sleeper. Lot easier to work on too in those tight engine bays. Only bummer about A Bods

  • you are both retarted, you dont know shit bout cars and go to hell neither one of you know shit about cars obviously. so stop with the shit talkin and get on with your lives. im a retired vet with 30 years as a mechanic so stop already, obviously you are young and maybe some day you will wake up and realize what the hell is going on

  • @peelmeat What do you drive, And for the record I stopped yapping about this shit 3-4 weeks ago. It's called ignore. And by the way, I have a head full of Mopar shit. When you say 30+ years do you mean gainfully employed or a shadetree mechanic ? Cuz there are shadetree mechanics who've worked on John Dillinger's car for 70+ years and who're "only"80 years old.

  • 20 gallons of fuel were burned in this video...! =P

  • @marciorosanches Indeed hahahahahahaha

  • A blower that can be turned on and off is contradictory to forced induction. And seeing how they're designed to run as opposed to be turned on and off can create fatigue from stop and go activation. And engines aren't designed to run low/high comp. alternatively. I wouldn't waste time on a blower that can be turned on like that cuz If I wanted a blower, I would want it on full time. And I don't want high comp. only sometimes.Fuck up your pistons with high/low comp back and forth! Who wants that ?

  • ONE Cool Sound

  • this car has mechanical fuel injection, no computer or electrical connection, bad thing is it has no air filter, any dust, dirt it sucks in. blower has Gilbert pulleys and belt on it makes that lovely sound and charger has clutch in it that you can activate or deactivate it anytime, I installed a few Eaton super chargers this way, it is not easy setup. cheers,

  • ohh ,that does sound sweet

  • It's the duck's guts!

  • Piece from here.. piece from there.

  • Hey redbuick, Ford Falcons WERE made in the US of A until 70. It's rare but it DOES EXIST It's called the1970 1/2 Ford Falcon . Re-tooled to resemble a 1970 Torino. With a 250 6 cyl. all the way up to a 429 Cobra Jet .So yeah. Learn your shit Or we'll take you to school.Clearly you don't know SHIT!!!

  • @Navajas440 Whats that got to do with the car in this video?

  • @Navajas440 What Rebuick was talking about were the Falcons built in Australia, never made it to the U.S, and as to your "1970 1/2 Ford Falcon."That was called a Torino King Cobra, an experimental car for running in NASACAR,like the Talledega. So before you start ripping someone for not knowing there cars, be sure you know what the hell you are talking about first!!

  • @Statimtek Yeah a 1970 1/2 is called a Torino King Cobra. I just called it a 70 1/2 Ford Falcon cuz clearly, I can't read. That is a TORINO COUNTERPART. Like Belvedere, Roadrunner, Satellite. And Poord reskinned the Falcon for that model only because the Falcons were the subcompacts.Like Novas ad Darts were the s.compacts of GM and Mopar. And Torinos were designed to compete against Chargers and Chevelles. So learn your shit and talk when you have a fucking clue.

  • @Navajas440 You are obviously a pathetic loser angryat the world because you think you know it all and clearly dont.Go take a valium

  • @Navajas440 Yes the King Cobra is rare, but it has nothing to do with Aussie Falcons.it doesnt even resemble one! Two different beasts. You are clearly the one who needs to be taken to school!!!!

  • @Statimtek Oh a 67 Cougar and 67 Mustang aren't the same car. Why ? Becuz they don't look the same! Why do cars have to look the same to be 90% the same body/platform you stupid, infantile little fuck ? Does a RR and Charger look the same ? NO. but they are both B-bodies. You and your parents have nothing to do with each other becuz you don't look the same! Yeah logic and you don't collide in the same space. But neither does that hunk of shit in your miniscule skull. INCOMPATIBLE, waste of sperm

  • @Navajas440 Whaat! What has that got to with anything. Is the English Ford Cortina anything like a U.S Ford? Is a German Ford taunus anything like what is in the U.S. NO! Diffrent platforms diffferent motors. But i guess you are too much of a fucking Yank Redneck to understand that. Anyway Australlian Fords and U.S Fords are totally different. Different platform diffrent motor.Moron

  • @Statimtek You are obviously undersexed and undereducated and believe AUZ is a superpower. And I bet I've seen you in "Crocodile Dundee" only you fuck sheep in the Outback while swilling Fosters. Australian for Queer. We should've let the Japs rape and kill your inferior stock of criminals. Obviously you're too feeble minded for me to get anything in so I'll leave you to your antiquated country and beloved sheep fucking. And yu only have your poord becuz we had mercy on your backwater subhumans!

  • @Navajas440 Why cant you guys take this some where else or leave eachother alone!!! by the way the Falcons in America were 2 Doors and they were called Sprints

  • @DustBinBunouts Again totally different than the Aussie Falcons

  • @Statimtek Haha someone who knows somwthing!!! good on ya mate... but dont diss the Aussie Rednecks

  • @DustBinBunouts Never man : )

  • @Statimtek Thanks

  • read my last post from bottom to top to get them ion order

  • In this mode, gasoline consumption is reduced and there is less exhaust being emitted. The control system of the present invention also reduces wear and tear on the crankshaft and other engine components for greater reliability and extended engine life. It also reduces stress and wear on the supercharger itself, while keeping it running cooler.

  • If the driver does not require extra power and performance, the switch is turned off, stopping the flow of electric current. This shuts down the magnetic field, causing the pulleys to be disengaged and disconnecting the supercharger, while still allowing the crankshaft to operate the other accessories.

  • The belt around the supercharger pulley then rotates, operating the supercharger. When activated, the supercharger forces air into the engine cylinders for greater horsepower output with fuel/air explosions within the cylinders. This provides greater acceleration and top-end speed for the driver.

  • A switch mounted with the vehicle dashboard controls engine generated electrical current to the system. In order to activate the supercharger, the switch is turned on. Electric current flows to the system and energizes an electromagnet, creating a magnetic field which compels engagement of the rotating accessory pulley with the supercharger pulley by means of a slide plate.

  • A compact, solid mount unit supercharger control system is installed at the bottom front end of the engine, directly onto the crankshaft of a vehicle. An accessory drive belt around the accessory belt pulley of the system rotates continuously to keep vehicle accessories (alternator, water pump, etc.) operating. A second belt around a larger pulley drives the supercharger blower.

  • Da krieg ich GÄNSEHAUT !!!

  • Low boost SCs are fine to run all time. Look at the Merc Kompressor and the Holden SV6.

  • I wouldn't run a blower at all with compression at 9.5:1 or higher just to keep it from being a bomb.

  • I don't know if this set-up is real or not, but I do know with enough money you can buy supercharger / blower kits that are clutch driven or turn on and off with a button, I don't understand the workings of these complicated devices but I know they exist, I had researched a super charger for my 440, I cant stand all these people saying it doesn't exist, as if there opinion is a fact, they do no research, and don't have a grasp of technological applications outside of pop culture and TV.

  • @djoctopus70 Considering a "REAL" blower is driven off a crankshaft that runs as long as the car does, how can you turn off the blower with a button while it's being powered by the crank and not expect belt failure ?

  • @Navajas440 look up vein or centrifugal superchargers, when the clutch is not engaged the pulley spins freely with the engine (like a conduit) and their is an air bypass, when the clutch is engaged it turns the blower on, vein types have been button activated for years. I don't believe a roots (most common) type supercharger can be turned on and off.

  • @djoctopus70 Well, the roots style like the Interceptor is the one I'm referring to. However there aren't any carbs atop the blower, so it's faux Roots.IDK I have seen Roots type blowers on Fuel Injectons instead of the centrifugals so that seems plausible. I still don't understand how something powered by crank pulley can be activated or de-activated except by a disengaging pulley clurch setup. kinda like a front differential where it turns idly yet, doesn't engage. Why would you want that ?

  • It's not fake. The entire point of a supercharger is to give you additional speed when required. If you were driving around with a supercharger engaged all the time you you'd be lucky if you got 500 miles on the the car before the engine burned out. You think all that additional speed - supercharger, nitrous, etc. - doesn't come at a cost? If you do than share your invention with the world because you've created cold fusion.

  • @LeCutter Well, I guess my motor must be" burned out" since I've been running a 6/71 for 10 yrs now. It's just an air pump, it can run for years without hurting anything. Do a little reading on them before making uneducated statements. Start with "detroit diesel" as that is where they originated from. Plenty of videos on here to watch.

  • @LeCutter Adding a supercharger to a stock engine doesn't do any harm to it as long as the boost pressure is low. Supercharging has been around since the 1920's and nobody has complained so far. The only thing a supercharger does is to compress air by means of a toothed belt that is connected to a pulley on the crankshaft.

The only thing that is bad about S/C is that it takes some of the engines power to be able to turn it. But it makes up for it with instant power at any rev range.

  • 21 humungus folowers

  • better than sex.

  • Wooohooo...Orgasm!!!!

  • Sweet!!

  • fucking sounds like a jet !

  • @madreader222 Ill agree with you as long as youre talking about anything newer than 1975. Anything older than that made by any American car company especially chevy completely owns. Theyre all the same quality (which is a mere step below invincible) at that age but I prefer Chevy because all the parts are interchangable between all models of practically anything GM for almost 50 years.

  • BEAUTIFUL !! AMAZING !

  • Fake or not i would love to pull up in that next to a dodge crown vic cop car look over and just smile

  • @redbuick dodge dosent make a crown vic ford does, please learn your cars

  • @nel2nv For the new year please don't be so know it all. i don't think you or anyone else is perfect in this world. i love all the arm chair quarterbacks on here who have to point out everyone's mistake. i did make a mistake, i meant to say a dodge charger police car or crown victoria police car. i am sure in the perfect world you live in you have never made a typo. And i know my cars. it's a ford falcon not ever sold in the Us market.351 v8, need i go on? 8-)

  • @redbuick ive made plenty of typoos thats why i always proofread my stuff, actually i appologize , i read all the comments about the blower and got kinda annoyed lol, im pretty sure the blower was hollowed out with a carb under, my 02 cents lol

  • @redbuick They were , just not under "Poord Falcon". Shit Auz only had those Poords because Poord made everything for them, Why did Poord have to ship the powerplants and all the other drivetrain to 'em ? They had the Falcon and we had it under Talladega Torino or Gran Torino. All of whom are Full size. Now they're on their own 2 feet and can do it themselves. Same with Europe, But years ago, the big 3 exported E.thing cuz the Ame. V8s w/ + comp. were not necess. in Eur. where gas is expen.

  • Is fake. Cool, but fake.

  • @1MomentaryPaws - You got that wrong. It's the other way round. It's cool. Fake, but cool :P.

  • i saw a interview with the man that built the interceptor. HE stated point blank that the blower was fake. THE BLOWER WAS HALLOW!

  • The motor shown in the first movie was actually supercharged

  • I just came.

  • :)

  • damm

    nice sound

  • ca c du vrais moteur !!!

  • Itd give me bigger wood if it was a chevy

  • @BenzinFresser chevys are shit :L

  • good sound mate and strong motor in her

  • they referred to this car in Mad Max and Road Warrior as "The last of the V8 INTERCEPTORS"

  • I just came :-0

  • SWEEEET HAHAHA

  • No need for a radio, you have a supercharged 351 Cleveland V8 :D

  • NOPE, the blower is not real...doesn't make this car any less appealing though. I love it!

  • The blower is real so, SHUT UP STUPID!!!!

  • now if real highway patrol be using this car, I am sure nobody dare to do drunk drive/joyride/reckless driving/ etc etc in the motorway.

  • En una palabra "GENIAL!!!!

  • This is just for looks dumbasses. The engine is badass yes,

    but the blower isn't real.

  • @two45triox I can't believe people are actually stating on here that it is actually real...lol Oh yeah, I wish I could turn a blower on and off while the motor is running..hehheh

  • @bullnuts101 Nowadays you can turn your supercharger on and off, some have centrifugal clutched pulleys with a electric actuator on them. Blitz makes one for the Toyota Yaris.

  • @bullnuts101 this blower we see here is fake of course, but the technology does exist and is in use today. look it up son.

  • @fordxbgtfalcon I have looked it up, dad...Those setups are basically an air pump similar to a turbo that is driven via a belt instead of exhaust gases. Yes, they are indeed switchable on/off by a clutch similar to an a/c compressor. The matter in question here is that there is no way to turn on an off a conventional style "blower" or "supercharger" as is pictured on this car.

  • @bullnuts101 you said A blower, not this blower, so yes you can turn a blower off and on while the motor is running. I win

  • @fordxbgtfalcon EVERY car guy (or ones who know something) refer to this setup as a blower. (although they are called superchargers as well) The others are superchargers or turbos. The basic idea of all of them is to pressurize the intake charge so as to be able to feed a more dense air/fuel charge thus creating more power.Did you really put a flowmaster and an overpriced piece of aluminum intake pipe on an old 4 door accord? I bet that thing is a real race rocket. lol

  • Comment removed

  • @bullnuts101 I still win, and the accord was like 4 years ago, and it was the slowest car of all time but who cares? you watched my vid so I guess that means your fascinated with me or something?

  • @fordxbgtfalcon na, just like to know a little about who I'm talkin' to..I learned all I needed to know thanks

  • the best....for ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • AUSSIE THUNDER TANK! Made before the GREEN/FAG/FEMINIST/P.C people took over the world!

  • this is brutal!

  • The best sound which we can hear on the earth...

  • I THINK I JUST SHIT !

  • me to.. twice

  • One of the coolest movie cars of all time.

  • Why isnt it spinning when the engine is running...its hooked up to all the belts, should be spinning all the time...

  • @bluesguy321 its a fake blower its hooked up to an electric motor to make the pully spin just some hollywood magic, but the car is bad ass none the less.

  • @moscowmeetsmiami really? because that looks like a solid intake bolted to the manifold and the way it's torquing the engine while it's just in park or neutral shows me it has some serious power coming from it

  • @wesker723 @moscowmeetsmiami no im pretty sure its a fake blower one the 1. the one movie was fake. 2. you cant turn a blower on and off when ever you want. if the blower was off the car would shut off because no air would get through the compressor. 3 i can see right under that blower its like 3 inches higher than the rest of the manifold. blower is fake. the movie is cool. and that motor makes frame twisting torque on all motor.

  • @moscowmeetsmiami no im pretty sure its a fake blower one the 1. the one movie was fake. 2. you cant turn a blower on and off when ever you want. if the blower was off the car would shut off because no air would get through the compressor. 3 in see right under that blower its like 3 inches higher than the rest of the manifold. do your research the blower is fake. the movie is cool. and that motor makes frame twisting torque on all motor.

  • @moscowmeetsmiami Seems like it would have been easier to use a real blower then building a custom electric thing. Wonder why they didn't? I like how is sounds like a vacuum cleaner. LOL

  • @mengle2004 in the movie max had like a switch to turn it on and off to be dramatic

  • @moscowmeetsmiami one cool sound

  • potenza allo stato puro, the best !!!

  • this car dont need nitro look at the size of the supercharger!!!

  • this could be done with , like the coments before, a clutch system similar to an air conditioning unit. However to let the engine run at rpm internal porting in the supercharger would have to be done with an air flow check valve system so when the supercharger went posative the valve would close. As for the fuel calibration with todays tech, in e.f.i. i dont think that would be an issue either.

  • did/does this car have nitros?
