  • Maybe if Windows updates are so important, Microsoft should be careful not to restart your PC without your permission, without warning you, causing you to lose personal data.

  • I always use chrome and i have not been infected since.

  • I reformatted and it's hasn't done every update and it's slow as fuck 0_o

  • Peopleee just because you are careful online doesn't mean you won't get accidentally sent to one from like Facebook and gets viruses, even with an great virus scanner you still can.

  • SERIOSULLY IMPORTANT! Before updating my computer (that I built) today I couldn't even watch youtube videos without loading every 2 seconds! I have a high end graphics card and 8gb ram, and heck, a quad core AmD processor... This isn't a pussy build, but it started to suck, BALLS before I updated... Thank goodness I was informed how important updates are for my computer... After I updated and restarted my computer, it's back to its old fast crisp self... Please update people.

  • I see I buyed a softwere of windows xp I said "the most actuality"was pirate,I can not see videos,I can not actualice my computer because says in the page of microsoft you can buy, before they din¨t send me to buy,All right internet is changing oh!

  • that happend to me but my computer was updated and the malware shut down my antiviurs micorsoft security essentials and i had to restore my laptop

  • I never update I'm scared now

  • I update a lot.

  • S-E-C-U-R-I-T-Y. If you can't even spell it, how are you supposed to explain it?

  • @gt750kr The man with the weaker argument attacks spelling and then believes he is above you because of it. Get off your high horse and quit the bullshit.

  • This is what happened to me. I went to just a normal site and ended up with a killer virus. It had roaches and shit crawling up the screen and I had nightmares for atleast a year. Now i understand why and I use windows 7 so I will keep updated

  • what if you have a good antivirus installed?

  • Comment removed

  • doesnt installing updates slow down your computer?

  • dam lol

  • dude will it still work if u have antivirus

  • good video thanks

  • this is great material, with frosted flakes and bananas..............

  • does try by*pulls out uzi* download X_X

  • I have got Windows 7. And there, updates are installed in control panel through your Internet connection. Not through IE or any web browser. This way of installing updates is safer. But it seems on Windows XP they have a different system of installing updates. Andrea.

  • @2dayCA I completely agree. My laptop got multiple Trojans because the anti virus is glitchy and it sometimes turns off. So I updated all the computers in my house and forget 1. It gets millions of trojans and is compromised instantly because I 4got to update.

  • Automatic updates sucks a**. I wait for Service Packs only.... Don't download any and never gets virusses...

Decent antivirus and no noob behaviour on the net = No virusses...

  • @ManBaas I always said that but I got infected last week thru a exploited banner. So yeah keep talking until you get infected.

  • i have instaled pirate windows xp sp3 and i am not sure what to download from automatic updates... can someone tell me what i must check and uncheck before download and instalation. :)

  • Question: My adblock plus is not disabled but how come it don't work anymore? I still see ads on youtube videos,,,, at first it worked but not anymore!

  • what did you use to record this? the screenshot thingy, thankyou

  • 1st: Is it necessery to keep old updates e.g from 2008/2009?

2nd: from last few months after updating my computer starts very slow, so I have to remove new updates. What can I do with this?

  • what if i got firefox 4?

  • @re4gamez dont get firefox get chrome

  • @Trowter why is it better?

  • @re4gamez because of you add any add-ons like adblocker or an antivirus scanner firefox will slow down alot more than chrome (also chrome has the bettter UI)

  • @Trowter They say chrome is fastest but Firefox has better securiy(i just watched some videos)...so I'd stick to Firefox lol sorry I can't take ur advice right now but maybe in future :))

  • i had smethindwnloaded which was a fake virus remover which ach installs anotha virus

  • One day I was trying to find some templates for my school project and Google was like "Hey, we think you have some malicious software and we will perform a scan check" And i was like "Oh... OK" And it scanned my PC and it was like "There are some programs and we highly recommend you to install this program Internet Antivirus 2011 And I was like "Hm, OK " and it installed it, and my troubles started, there were popups viruses found and I took my PC to my teacher and he restored my system...

  • @Aleksandar998 Well, at least you know one thing, do not trust fake pop-ups like that.

  • @theif519 Yeah.......

  • Most of the time I am on YouTube......

  • For some reason, my laptop hasn't gotten any notice of new updates since Windows 7 came out (I use Vista.), and I don't know why. Is it because Win 7 is now the newer computer?

  • So basically if you don't go to obscure websites no ones ever heard of, you'll be mostly fine.

  • wow

  • I can't update... When i try to update it fails and says Error Code 8024200D and Windows update encountered and unknown error... I failed to download vista service pack 1 ! Its been like this for a year or two!

  • if u want windows updates in xp you have to use internet explorer. i remember when i used xp i tried updating windows in firefox... microsoft can be a real cunt sometimes

  • I found an typo Why Windows Critical & Sucurity at beggining.

  • i have updates but i asoon as i installed them I CANT INSTALL AV ANYMORE (sad face)

  • thankyou.did you manage to fix the first 1

  • thankyou.

  • They are not important if you know where to click and where not to.

  • if it is so important they should make them DOWNLOADABLE how come i get a freakin bluescreen when trying to download windows service pack 3.

i also have raid volume error if someone knows how to fix that

  • @marocconit well a raid error would be saying that how you setup your hard drives, one of them has failed. maybe why windows update is failing.

  • im not insstalling updates in other CPU becuz i readed in AVG labs that there is very dangerous windows update that contains the most dangerous virus rated by AVG so i am not installing updates

  • @paulins2012 well. avg is eh. alright i guess. wouldnt trust too much they say, ive never seen this virus. i work for dell. i will admit, there probably is a virus that hides in the right corner and IS a virus. thats different then windows update PUTTING it in your pc. 2ndly, the only reason to not install updates is because they can get corrupt and mess with the computer. so make a system restore point.

  • i cant find my windows update in windows xp

  • Why do you treat your pc like a peice of junk :(

  • @NikolaGB It's a virtual machine not a real one.

  • @Costerguy1234556 Oh ok sorry :)

  • thnx a lot

  • can i get a drive by, ??? i only go on youtube.runescape, bank websites lol

  • @eatincupcakes123 If you visit a hacked up website yes

  • Won't a good hips app keep this crap out though?

  • How to recover Blue Screen of Death error..?..

Most Famous irritating Error in Windows.

m tryin to find solution..but nt yet found

  • @frost7720 Watch betaflux's vids he teachs you all kind of method to remove BSOD

  • @2dayCA

    send links via message

  • I dont keep my windows updated cause it spoilt my whole com last time (It didnt stop loading)

  • @Iceloverz last time I update a bald vista to sp2 it took me 4-5 hours (download + install) with all the updates, the load doesn't stop, it just takes time... a lot of it to finish, but if the copy of windows is genuine and activated the updates won't mess up with anything, except eat your free space. People usually don't run updates for a reason ... like cracked versions of os that will become unusable after the updates...

  • if windows nt updated..will it slow down the system?

  • @frost7720 no

  • Very Nice Video! I thank you too, i never really installed updates becuase i didn't see the point of it, but you definitely convinced me to start installing my updates! ;-)

  • Learn how to spell, moron... S.E.C.U.R.I.T.Y

  • @skankingrudeboy get a life fag

  • @Coolmanos Got one thanks, one that includes pointing out dumb Americans.

  • @skankingrudeboy I'm actually Canadian. Thanks :)

  • @Coolmanos Well I wasn't actually pointing you out as dumb... until now :P

  • @skankingrudeboy lol I read your message wrong. my bad.

  • Save The Windows

  • is ur virtual pc a typicall person

  • thanks bro I update all the time

  • hay is there a way to x off or let windows know not to send a update like i keep seeing new update are ready but i don't want to have to update two things because with windows 8 or internet 8 my mom updated to those then the vary next day the xp died and we lost everything

  • This just convinced me to install the updates when they first come out o_O Thank you so much for this ^_^

  • i cant download updates, so im screwed

  • 6:11

"They ordered a Masseuse but got a Prostitute. Prudie offers advice for some delicate situations"

    Lulz

  • son of a bitch, im watching this while im avoiding an AV update D::

  • Don't forget to update from SP1 to SP2

    and SP2 to SP3.

    (XP)

  • So i need to install all of them! Oh know this is gonna be a nightmare!!!!

    I did the other day....

Is it for windows 7 too?

  • @HoneyBanana30 Just click the start icon and type in windows update and when its done searching for it, you click on it and download the updates.

  • @HoneyBanana30 i had a guy who had sp1 and took like a whole day to install all updates

  • Despite how careful I am when browsing the net, and even with a fully patched Windows 7 64bit OS, I still somehow managed to get infected with a trojan, and an exploit.

  • @JoeyJoeJoe5000 , look at his video on shadow defender, im using it now, its beastin

  • @MiamiSpid3r I'll watch it, thanks. And BTW, I checked a while ago, make that TWO trojans I was in infected with, and the exploit O_o

  • @JoeyJoeJoe5000 A trojan avoid downloadin and saving internet files t your pc's memory as much as possible

  • is service pack 3 good?

  • who nows who care

  • Well does McFee work too i've got that

  • @coms758 Yes it is.

  • i always do my updates if its critical but not if its just some lame ass think it does something but it dosnt' updates

  • windows 7 has an update for antipiracy

    u need to be careful

thats why i will be buying a genuine w7 for no future problems

  • @useurcamera I'm using Orbit30 windows 7 ultimate 64bit and I know about that update that detects over 90 pirated copies but it never detected Orbit30's copies of windows 7 :)

And I have always updated my windows since I had XP but 95% that I know didn't update until I told them what happens.

  • yea but windows serves pack 3 is tearbile and my xp says it a updait i will not download this it bad very bad what do you think..bye

  • I see where you're coming at with the security of your computer. But people shouldn't go to websites that don't look trustworthy. I remember when I was using Windows Vista, I did an update and my computer started blue screening if I removed a USB device. I googled it and it turned out it was a Windows update. I un-installed it and the problem was fixed. I feel that as long as you have a good firewall and anti-virus this won't happen. For the average PC user might be better off doing the patches.

  • Total propaganda.windows updates make ur programs do less and not function, like the latest Media PLayer 11 , which cant play wmv files.

  • you sure are good at scaring people...

  • I know what i have on my pc...... do you?

  • woho port 8080

  • Cool video!!

But what if you don't use IE and have a virus scanner installed? Would you still be at as high of a risk?

  • i actually hate UPDATES, they always fuck off my pc instead of doin good thing..

Things like making my pc slower

Don't let me play games anymore

when i update, i always make a restore point bcuz updates ftl

  • i am no hacker but i got system restore and acronis and norton int. sec. 2007. I know what i have on my pc...... do you?

  • this video shows u why u should always, always, update. hackers cross their fingers and hope u don't update ur operating system. u can tell hackers to go to hell, by installing patches

  • m not that sure, but my pc runs good? and did you see how much space they take and we dont know what they are for.(i like to have control of my pc).

  • windows wants you to update so they can check if your copy is legal!

  • So what's the problem with it?

  • that is all bullshit. i have norton int sec 07and winpatrol for over 6 years now , (never had a win update) never had any trouble.

  • How can you be so sure, hm?

  • @loadi2

You got lucky. Windows updates patches known exploits that can let hackers compromise your computer.

  • i would update, but my version of xp isnt kosher

  • I checking the updates by using Windows Update, there was an update. The update title update is Windows XP Service Pack 3. Why the Windows Update may update the service packs?

  • Excellent video Matt.

I was nailed by a drive-by a long time ago on my old computer. I was wondering what the hell had happened as I didn't use any kind of P2P software or visit any shady sites or download unknown stuff. Keep in mind that was back in 2006 when IE was just riddled with security flaws and spyware was rampant.

I showed this to my neighbor who was in the same boat as me about two weeks ago. When asked him if he updated Windows, he said pretty much never.

  • How'd you get your vid to go over ten mins lol? Lucky bastard! Thanks for your help

  • why is so many svchost.exe always running?

  • Your an excellent teacher. Thanks for providing this service. Keep up the great work.

  • My WindowXp is not real

so that i think ,Window update is not important for me. Is it right?

Plz reply me. I want to know about this

    thanks!!! reading

  • really nice video, I'm going to share it in facebook Home page and tell everyone in my work about it.

    Big Thanks

  • i tried installing windows updates a few days ago...did not go to well. My computer ran slow so i wiped it.

  • How do you record your videos?

  • Very true, Windows Updates are very important.

  • TURN ON AUTOMATIC UPDATING!!!

  • i had a drive by on photobucket bout 30

  • But doesnt anti virus internet security protect you even if you dont have windows updates?

  • @TonyFirelli Hackers find weaknesses in existing windows programs and exploit them. Anti-virus software may look over malware because it has become part of software that is not considered malicious. Windows updates improve the stability of existing programs so that hackers cannot exploit them.

  • ahh sandboxie FTW

  • One way to prevent malicious softwares from installing in your pc is to use sandboxie

  • can sandboxie be used with vista? 64bit

  • It only works on 32 bit systems

  • Windows Update error 80070424 PLEASE ANYONE!!

  • google it!

  • Is it just me or are none of matt's videos in HD anymore?

  • I really like your videos. I've seen so many coworkers with fake taskbar alerts caused by Malware... Inevitably I am horrified to hear that they clicked on the alert and downloaded more malware.

  • yeah sometimes even after prevention and removal by free av ,virus is still hiddenly present on ur system which will kill ur pc slowly if u dont download windows update .

  • spelled security wrong

  • you need a genuine version of windows for this to happen

  • @HoTnSpiCy009 Only if you have genuine, sp3 after some period after june.

  • i dun think its pronounced adobee maybe its a-dob?

i know the spelling but not sure about pronunciation

  • its a do bee

  • You wont get a drive-by if you use Firefox. Thus, if you use Firefox, you dont need to update often. I only install major service packs, never update.

  • Nope, he's not talking about drive-by's, he's talking about people gaining access through your system.

  • Crzynoob, that's an extremely rare problem if you have good passwords.

  • I don't even have a password. I don't bother placing one because I have 5 anti-viruses

  • And you know what is another problem? 96% of people that are using PCs don't update ALL applications on PC, Windows Update is very important, but it's also important to have end-updated ALL applications on PC with updated Windows to the end. This is a rule of SECURITY. And yes, use proper AVs (like nod32 or avast) and ASs (like malwarebytes or Spybot) and Firewall (like Comodo Firewall) and you're SECURE. And btw people must everyday checking for updates for ALL applications on OS. Cheers

  • True. But if you learn, you'll be protected.

  • I only use Windows Firewall.. Does it really suck that bad?

  • Well Windows Update isn't very good firewall, because of its bad antileak protection. Also I am recommending to you for using a Comodo firewall, which is one of the best software firewalls in the area. Cheers

  • EDIT:

I was wrong, Windows FIREWALL isn't very good firewall, also don't try to go on the internet without antivirus or antispyware, you PC could be a great treath and risk to others. Cheers

  • Using Windows Firewall to protect your PC is like using an umbrella during a hurricane.

  • Ahh. Thank you.

  • what's the yellow thing around your cursor?

  • so if u have like nod 32 antivirus and you get secunia psi will it crash your computer or is it like a extar anitvirus or something

  • zenitchampion [dot] com what is this website how can they scan our drive if we dont have java opened.

  • Java is always opened. It is required to run your operating system, I think. Although Microsoft's Javascript engine is o.k..

  • lol ass

  • usually virus will install rogue software and sometimes if u want to update that rogue software they ask u to pay , or scan computer

  • devianART is like this.

  • i like to download fake anti virus on my old windows 95 computer for fun and remove it

  • dear mrizos i have a question..

can a virus inject a false update warning in your pc!!

hope to resive a reply to this comment

  • I'd like to know that also

  • I'm pretty sure they can. I know AntiVirus 2009 did that.

  • Yes they can. They just do it via Automatic Updates instead of windows updates.

  • If you have Kaspersky you have a firewall. As far as i am concerned the best firewall in the business.

  • Matt what about pirate windows? Please respond thank you.

  • Pirate Windows can't even install the important updates.

  • Sure they can. They just can't do it with Windows update. it has to be done via Automatic Updates.
