This isn't a horror film. People who were lulled into it by the trailer were should watch it again to really see the message.

The human nature to suffice will conquer even the greatest fears. I actually was tearing up when Walker was explaining to the Elders why he was doing what he was doing.

I love the music in this movie but the plot and the twist are the best! I know a lot of people don't like this movie but I think they go into it thinking it's supposed to be a horror film. It's really more of an intellectual piece of artwork... it's meant to tax the brain and make you think differently. That's why this movie is so beautiful. If you want scary go watch the Grudge or something haha

I love the music, James Newton Howard is a genius. The movie is also amazing, and misunderstood by a lot of people. Very underrated. For anyone who is trying to learn this on PIANO, I just did a cover and it is on my wall. I am thinking about making a tutorial, if enough people ask. Please don't mark this as spam, I want to help people learn, because there's no tutorial of it on here.

wtf?? I loved this film, and the score fits perfectly. I do think it was wrongly advertised because everyone thought it was a scary production which is not but once you watch it, it changes your perception completely. Now look at the photography, the argument which many directors would wish to create. I'm not trying to convince people to like it because that's nonsense but I'd like them to show some respect for something that deserves more attention and then judge it.

@victoneter I tell you, a lot of people are gunna tell you it sucks, but it is seriously the most beautiful and passionate film I have ever seen. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it. Plus, it scared the shit out of me for weeks. Not in a gory violent sort of way, but in a psychological way. Go for it, thank me later, it's truly awesome ;)

@BrotherCopper I remember watching this film with a friend when it released. I knew nothing about the plot going in and it really took me by surprise. I don't get why so many people hate it. They're entitled to their opinions but I rate this film very highly. The panic and frenzy in the scenes where 'thsoe-we-do-not-speak-of' were coming to the village was very realistic and I was scared too !

I have never understood why one of the elders could not have gone to fetch the medicines though.

@wrichik I think it's because they made that pact. they were talking about it right after Lucius got stabbed. they sent Ivy because she was doing it for love, knowing she would come back and not just leave once she got outside.

James Newton Howard did such a good job on this piece, with keeping actually good-sounding chords in it the entire time, except for the "B" section, maybe. That was just to keep it fresh, I'm sure. But still, that piano with the passionate strings: captures the love and devotion between the two leads.
