Too bad you can't get an impression of the smell!
I owned one of these, briefly. I replaced it with an Alphacom 32. I didn;t like the thought of breathing in all that aluminium vapour!
That paper looks fairly matte - are you using fax paper? :)

@shalroth I think that is the original paper bought somewhere. i didn't even know you can use fax paper. are you sure of that?
