Tough to knock em down at that distance(55+ yards), looked like it took about 10 shots to get one down. At least you got some shootin in. I bet if you laid low and kept callin you coulda pulled them about 20 yards closer to your pits. Looked like you had good cover in that field and plenty of decoys.
let those birds work a little more. it makes it twice as hard to shoot birds that are at a distance and there is wind. you have plenty of guys to shoot those big flocks to, let'em work a little bit. you might be able to bring them in a little more with a hand held call to, convince with a steady pattern to come in, give them some confidence.
Hey jmschwarz why dont you take that comment and shove it its not your life so stay out and let the hunters do what they want fyi there are no limits on these birds because their population has tripled and us hunters need to harvest these birds.
Wow, this is amazing to me, im a deer hunter/fisher and ive never seen anything like this.. fake geese and little ditches for camo very cool, what cali do you use to hunt geese i might want to get into this
Nice set-up. The circle seems to work best these days. Used to set up in a U, not anymore. We use 5 doz. full bodys and about 1000 home made wind socks along with about 100 silloettes. Where is this at? By the way don't use Show me Snow geese. He ripped of a buddy of mine and his buds to go to Squaw Creek. Never took them but kept their money for a hunt "next year"
leave them alone?! you idiots have no idea what these "poor defenseless" birds are doing to the tundra. keep humping your trees and have fun pulling the slivers out.....
oh, and they aren't catching them...they're killing them dumbass...don't watch these videos if all you're going to do is defend the animals
The lesser snow goose population has tripled over the past 20 years and continues to grow at a rate of five percent a year. It now stands at over 4.5 million breeding birds. The fragile sub-Arctic and Arctic coastal marsh ecosystem where they nest in the summer cannot sustain this many geese. Please refrain from using the Internet, you're soiling it...
I just got back from hunting Snow Geese next to the Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge outside Mound City, Missouri. I was using a Benelli Nova 12 gauge shooting 3" Federal Black Cloud FS Steel #BB and harvested a number of Snow and Ross's Geese. Great video
For those of you who think that was skybusting your an idiot and have never hunted snows nor watched a home made video.they did an excellent job. Those sky carp destroy the tundra and kill winter wheat fields so who would even give a fuck if someone did sky bust them.get a life.
you idiot! Snow Geese are the most difficult of waterfowl to kill consistently and deserve the utmost respect. They are a beautiful bird to watch come in to the decoys. and bradknight83, look at my videos, it isnt that hard to get snows to 10-20 yards IF you are patient. And for everyone: those birds were a bit far but killable.
it seems most of u have never been SNOW GOOSE HUNTING IN SPRING!!! your avg Shot is 45+ yrds alot around 50-60.... Its spring and these birds are very smart on there way back up north.... !!! only Juvys and Ross geese get really close most of the time!!!! go out and do it then Talk about skyblasting... its not like duck season... Ill be out in March in SD! cant wait..
wow i'd really like to know what type of shotshells youre shooting for killing at 50-60 yrds!!!!!! when your hunting spring snows properly, you can easily shootem at 15-40...
thats cool SD is the best place or an outdoors good time I am going october throw november for pheasant and goose hunting......no place like the south dakotas state
40 yards? are you kidding me? You need to practice alittle and pattern your shotgun if thats as far as you can consistantely kill birds at. The camera will make these look alot farther but with todays ammo and chokes 60-65yards shots are normal and are very high kill percentage. My gun, load, and choke comba hold 80 shot at 60yards in a 30" circle. 40 yards I'm at like 96%.
If your only comfortable at 40yrds than thats fine but don't start telling others their limitations
Awesome...sounds like some Third day in the background. We are going to be trying a trip with Neu this spring. Did you guys do well on the trip??? How many did you kill/day.
ur an idiot duck/goose hunter who don't know nothing. It's only sky busting if your not hitting them. Is it sky busting to you if your taking 70 yard shots nd steady bustin geese? educate yourself

not with a blackcloud choke. with 3 1/2 black cloud. i've knocked geese dead at 80+ yards in 1 shot.

Great footage, thanks for sharing this. Just wondering, how many decoys, and how long to set up?

This comment has received too many negative votes show
It must have taken a long time and preparation to catch these birds. Leave them alone as they have no defense at all.
