I use to hate covers, especially ones of songs that I love..but this is a good cover done by a great band. Anthony's way of singing it is a bit different then the original obviously but he did a good job on it, Red Hot Chili Peppers as a whole did well on this song. I dont like people redoing this song but they did a wonderful job on it and all the haters can bite my left ass cheek. So with that said, peace.

Comparing this cover to the 'Looking Glass' original is kinda missing the point imo. I love that the RHCP would choose this track to cover in the first place. It's a bonus for me that they've made a pretty decent job of it. Any band that can cover Public Enemy and Looking Glass (that also features a bass-player performing in his underpants and a pin-wheel hat) gets my vote.

Looking Glass was the band that ORIGINALLY played this song. Skill on the instruments have nothing to do with it - if you listen to the lyrics you'll be able to tell that this song was not meant to be played the way Red Hot plays it. I respect Red Hot as a band, but they should've left this song alone.

anthony is tone-deaf. the only one who has stayed true to their live act of the 80's is Flea. Anthony has forgotten who he is as a preformer and I think that the Chili Peppers have lost something. I think it would do them all a world of good to break out their Black Flag and Fear albums and give them a listen instead of listening to Looking Glass.

In 2005, around the time of the concert, he switched to Fender J-basses but later in 2006, he went back to Modulus's for all live shows. Look at more live shows in 2006 and 2007. You will will a kind of burst color modulus he is playing a lot.Maybe the next album, he'll play with a modulus.
