Cummins QSK19. 19 litre 600hp. 18 speed. 85 tonne empty and nearly 300 tonne when loaded. The slightest incline slows you up pretty quick. Each truck does 3 - 4 loads per 12hr shift.
To Aerodyne666: Hmm, im pretty sure i on tv have seen a doku about that long road-train.. It should hav been driving cross-country wit coal or iron to a special factory wher it could onload it all in i think it was 4 times.. But perhaps i am wrong.. Or ells you can contact me on msn: deeredrengen @ tdcadsl dot dk
53.5 meters long is the maximum on a public road in the outback. Some companies use slightly longer road trains on private haul roads. No way 500 meters. Maybe your thinking about iron ore trains.
I have heard some rumors that there is some Road-Trains in Australia that should be more than 500 meters log driving across Australia, is that true? Great song and nice pic´s..
